Manager Kevin Cash said Sunday that Glasnow (back) could be ready to make a start for the Rays during the club's upcoming three-game series with the Cardinals, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Glasnow had been in line to start Sunday's series finale with the Tigers, but after he experienced back spasms late Saturday, the Rays scratched him and had reliever Erasmo Ramirez make a spot start in his stead. According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Glasnow will likely meet with a doctor Monday, but at this stage, Cash doesn't believe the big right-hander is at risk of going on the IL. If the doctor agrees with Cash's assessment and Glasnow responds well to treatment, he could be back on the mound as early as Wednesday or Thursday.

Manning (3-4) took the loss against the Rays on Sunday, allowing eight runs (six earned) on nine hits and a walk while striking out three in 5.2 innings.

Manning's struggles carried over into Sunday's start. He allowed five runs through the first two innings and later gave up his second home run of the day in the fourth. The 25-year-old was miraculously one out away from completing six frames but was yanked after allowing consecutive base hits. Manning has put together a very forgettable three-game stretch during which he's allowed 19 runs (17 earned) on 23 hits, including six home runs over his last 16.2 innings. The Tigers don't really have any better options at this point, so Manning figures to stick around. He's tentatively lined up to face the Red Sox on the road in his next start.

Kent (oblique) struck out three and allowed one hit and no walks over three scoreless innings Saturday for Triple-A Round Rock after being reinstated from the 7-day injured list earlier in the day.

Kent was sharp in his return to the Round Rock rotation after he hadn't pitched in the Pacific Coast League since April 4 due to an oblique strain. Prior to being activated, the 25-year-old right-hander made three tune-up starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Bratt was placed on High-A Hickory's 7-day injured list June 18 with an unspecified injury.

The Canadian-born lefty compiled a 3.83 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 65:16 K:BB over 56.1 innings for Hickory before being shut down six weeks ago. The Rangers haven't provided word regarding the nature of his injury or insight into whether he'll have a chance at pitching again in 2023.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that he hasn't decided whether Severino will make his next turn through the rotation, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Gerrit Cole and Clarke Schmidt will pick up starts in the Yankees' first two games of the week versus the White Sox, but no confirmation has been made on a starter for the series finale Wednesday, when Severino's turn in the rotation comes up. Boone said he would wait and see how things played out with the Yankees' pitching staff over the next few days before making a decision on the starter for Wednesday, but Severino could end up sticking in the rotation by default after Carlos Rodon exited Sunday's 9-7 loss to the Astros with hamstring tightness. Rodon will undergo an MRI on Monday, and if he's forced to go on the injured list, the Yankees wouldn't have many starting options on the 40-man roster at their disposal if Severino is moved to the bullpen. Even if Severino maintains his rotation spot this week, fantasy managers won't be able to use him with any degree of confidence. He's gone 1-4 with a 11.22 ERA, 2.34 ERA and 22:12 K:BB in 25.2 innings over his last six starts.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora confirmed Sunday that Whitlock (elbow) should begin a minor-league rehab assignment during the upcoming week, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Whitlock made it through his live batting practice session Saturday no worse for the wear, so he'll advance to the final phase of his recovery program from the bone bruise in his right elbow. Cora reiterated Sunday that his plan is to deploy Whitlock as a multi-inning reliever once he returns from the 15-day injured list, likely around the middle of August.

Brito was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Sunday's loss to the Astros.

Brito served as a reliever during Sunday's matchup and allowed no hits and two walks while striking out two in 1.2 scoreless innings. He's had shaky results this season and will attempt to right the ship in the minors.

Bradish did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three hits and five walks over 4.2 scoreless innings against the Mets. He struck out five.

Bradish hit Jeff McNeil to lead off the game and continued to struggle with his command throughout, tossing only 45 of 87 pitches for strikes. He was pulled after he loaded the bases with his fifth walk, one out shy of becoming eligible for the win. This marks the first time in his last 13 starts that Bradish has walked more than two batters in a game. He will look to rebound in his next start, likely set for next weekend in Seattle.

Heaney (9-6) allowed four hits and two walks while striking out four over 5.2 shutout innings to earn the win Sunday over the Marlins.

Heaney recorded his third straight win and his second consecutive scoreless start. The southpaw's main improvement of late has been keeping the ball down with just two home runs allowed over his last five starts. For the season, he has a 4.14 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 118:45 K:BB through 113 innings over 22 outings. Heaney is projected to make his next start on the road in San Francisco.

Rodon (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Monday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Rodon was removed from Sunday's start against the Astros due to left hamstring tightness, and the Yankees aren't yet sure whether he'll require a trip to the injured list. He described his exit as precautionary, but his imaging should help offer clarity on the severity of the injury, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the team update his status afterward. If Rodon is unable to make his next turn through the rotation, Luis Severino is a strong candidate to remain a starter.
