Eflin (9-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings against the Phillies. He struck out nine.

Despite falling to his fourth loss of 2023, Eflin logged his fourth consecutive quality start while also striking out seven or more batters for the third straight time Tuesday. The start continued what could be a career year for Eflin, as the 29-year-old boasts what would be his best ERA (3.24), BB/9 (1.39) and HR/9 (0.9) of his eight-year career while also ranking third in MLB in K/BB (6.67) this season. Eflin is tentatively scheduled to make his next start at home against Atlanta right before the All-Star Break.

Giolito allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Giolito pitched well outside of the fourth inning, when he allowed four of his six baserunners and both runs. Luis Robert's sixth-inning homer put Giolito in line for the win, but Joe Kelly surrendered the lead in the eighth. Giolito has limited opponents to two earned runs or less in five of his last six starts. He's at a 3.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 112:31 K:BB through 105.1 innings over 18 outings this year. The right-hander could make one more start in the first half, which would be over the weekend at home against the Cardinals.

Bassitt allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Tuesday.

Bassitt unraveled in the sixth inning, allowing a three-run home run to Luis Robert that temporarily cost Toronto the lead. It was a second straight quality start for Bassitt, who had an uneven June with a 4.59 ERA over six starts (33.1 innings). The right-hander is at a 4.09 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 98:36 K:BB through 105.2 innings over 18 starts this season. He's tentatively projected for one more start in the first half, which would come over the weekend in Detroit.

Bieber allowed four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings, taking a no-decision versus Atlanta on Tuesday.

Bieber's five walks were a season high, and this was just the third time in 18 starts he's failed to complete five innings. He's given up 13 runs over 23 innings during his four-start winless skid. The right-hander now has a 3.66 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 89:33 K:BB through 110.2 innings this season. He's tentatively projected for a favorable home start versus the Royals this weekend.

Olson (knee) pitched five scoreless innings of relief and did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Athletics. He allowed a hit and walk while striking out five.

The Tigers welcomed back Tarik Skubal, who returned from flexor tendon surgery to start and pitch four scoreless innings of his own in his season debut. Olson left his last appearance early after taking a comebacker to the knee, but he didn't end up missing any time, and the rookie looked sharp Tuesday. With Skubal back, it remains to be seen how Olson will slot in moving forward, though with the Tigers missing several other starters due to injury, he has a good chance of sliding back into the rotation. Olson has held his own with a 4.02 ERA and 1.02 WHIP across 31.1 innings so far in his debut campaign.

Skubal (elbow) did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing no hits and no walks over four scoreless innings against the Athletics. He struck out six.

The left-hander missed the first three months of the campaign while rehabbing from August flexor tendon surgery, and the only baserunner he allowed in his season debut came via a hit-by-pitch. Skubal threw 41 of his 57 pitches for strikes and should continue to build up his workload in subsequent outings. A potential matchup with the Blue Jays this weekend is likely to present a tougher test for the 26-year-old.

Sears did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing five hits and no walks over 7.1 scoreless innings against Detroit. He struck out four.

The left-hander broke a string of three consecutive losses with his second scoreless outing of the campaign, but he missed out on the win since the game remained a 0-0 tie until the 10th inning. Sears surrendered five earned runs his last time out against the Yankees, but he's now covered at least seven frames in three of his past four starts. The 27-year-old holds a 4.09 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 89:20 K:BB through 94.2 innings this season, and he tentatively lines up for one more start Sunday in Boston before the All-Star break.

Bielak (4-4) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two hits and four walks over seven scoreless innings in a 4-1 victory over the Rockies. He struck out four.

In his first MLB appearance since being optioned to Triple-A on June 17, Bielak recorded his first scoreless outing of the campaign. Tuesday's performance was also Bielak's longest start of 2023 and marked just the third time he's lasted more than six innings. However, Bielak also set a season high in walks. After the strong showing, Bielak's ERA is down to 3.81 and he also carries a 41:22 K:BB and 1.6 HR/9 through 54.1 innings.

The Blue Jays will call up Manoah from Double-A New Hampshire to start Friday against the Tigers, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

After a horrendous showing in rookie ball, Manoah bounced back nicely in Double-A, surrendering just one run on three hits and three walks while striking out 10 batters over five innings Sunday. Manoah was optioned to the Florida Complex League in early June to work on his mechanics, and he'll get a chance to ease back into the majors against a Tigers offense that ranks 29th in OPS (.671).

Kopech (shoulder) is expected to return to the White Sox's rotation after the All-Star break, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Kopech was slated to miss his start Sunday to receive an extended rest, but the White Sox still felt the need to place him on the injured list. It doesn't seem Kopech is in line for an extended absence, and he'll return to the rotation with a fresh arm to begin the second half of the season.
