Canning allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out 12 over 5.2 innings in a no-decision Monday in the Angels' 4-3 extra-inning win over the Yankees.

Canning came up an out short of a quality start, a vast improvement from his season-low 2.2 innings against the Dodgers in his last outing before the All-Star break. He's had a couple of rough patches this season, but Canning's season-best 12 strikeouts have him off to a good start in the second half. He's at a 4.52 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 83:25 K:BB over 79.2 innings across 15 starts this season. The right-hander is projected for a road start in Detroit next week, though he could be moved up into the weekend home series versus the Pirates if the Angels opt to shuffle their rotation with a pair of off days within the next week.

Gray dropped to 4-4 after allowing five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five over 5.2 innings in Monday's 7-6 loss to the Mariners.

Gray didn't allow more than three runs in any of his first 17 outings, but he's given up 11 runs across his last 11.2 innings. The right-hander has also gone 13 starts without a win despite fairly solid pitching in that span. The positive news is that he continues to keep the ball down -- he hasn't allowed a homer in any of his last three outings and he's given up just three long balls all season. Gray has a 3.16 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 106:43 K:BB through 105.1 innings over 19 starts this season. He's projected for a home start versus the White Sox this weekend.

Gilbert (8-5) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings to earn the win in Monday's 7-6 victory over the Twins.

Gilbert got a little extra time off when the Mariners reordered their rotation after the All-Star break. He was able to pick up his fourth win in his last five outings, but it was a bit shakier of a performance than usual for the right-hander. He's still allowed just eight runs over his last 34 innings. For the season, Gilbert owns a 3.65 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 111:20 K:BB through 113.1 innings over 19 starts. He's lined up for a home start versus the Blue Jays this weekend.

Blackburn (1-2) allowed six runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.2 innings, taking the loss Monday versus the Red Sox.

Blackburn's last outing was a relief appearance versus Boston before the All-Star break. He'll be happy to put the Red Sox in the rear-view mirror, as they've posted eight runs over 6.2 innings against him in those two outings. For the season, the right-hander is at a 5.48 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB through 42.2 innings over nine appearances (eight starts). He'll look to get back on track in a tough projected home start versus the Astros over the weekend.

Prielipp underwent a UCL repair with the inclusion of an internal brace Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Hayes notes that Prielipp didn't need a full Tommy John surgery and was instead able to undergo an internal brace procedure, which is a less-invasive outcome. A timetable for a return has yet to be established for the 22-year-old left-hander.

Rodriguez yielded four runs on seven hits and two walks over five-plus innings in Monday's loss to the Dodgers. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Rodriguez looked strong Monday, yielding just one run through five frames. He then allowed three straight batters to reach base in the sixth inning and was charged with three more runs. It was his first MLB outing since May 26 after a stint with Triple-A Norfolk and he now owns a 7.33 ERA through 50.1 career innings at the top level. Rodriguez's next outing is projected to be in Tampa Bay this weekend.

Manager Kevin Cash expects McClanahan to make "very close to a normal start" Monday night against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

McClanahan hasn't fired more than 66 pitches in a game in over a month, but Cash feels the southpaw is healthy and ready to handle a normal start, if efficient. McClanahan's last start took place June 30 against the Mariners before landing on the 15-day injured list with mid-back tightness.

Greinke (shoulder) threw a bullpen session recently and is tracking toward a return from the 15-day injured list to start Thursday versus the Tigers, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

Thursday is the first day he's eligible to return after he landed on the IL earlier this month with right shoulder tendinitis. Greinke has posted an ugly 5.44 ERA over 18 starts for Kansas City this season.

McClanahan (back) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

McClanahan will rejoin the Rays' rotation on Monday in a road start versus the Rangers. The left-hander has missed all of July with a nagging back issue but is ready to go now after skipping a rehab assignment. McClanahan hasn't thrown more than 66 pitches in a start in a month, so he probably won't be ready for a full workload Monday.

The Rays designated Chirinos for assignment Monday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Tampa Bay had been treating Chirinos as its de facto No. 5 starter heading into the All-Star break, but the right-hander was summoned in long relief of starter Zach Eflin during Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Royals and proceeded to give up three earned runs on four hits -- including three home runs -- in 4.2 innings. Due to his 50-pitch workload, Chirinos wasn't likely to be available for at least a few games, and his lack of freshness and poor peripherals on the season (5.31 SIERA, 4.2 K-BB%) provided enough reason for Tampa Bay to remove him from its 40-man roster. The Rays reinstated lefty Shane McClanahan (back) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.
