Mozzicato was placed on the 7-day injured list Saturday and is expected to miss a month with an undisclosed injury, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Mozzicato suffered the injury after colliding with a teammate during practice. While the Royals haven't provided a timeline for his return, his exact injury remains unclear. The injury disrupts an excellent season for the 2021 seventh-= overall pick, as he owns a 40.0 percent strikeout rate and a 2.14 ERA in nine starts for Single-A Columbus.

Cease didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Tigers, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out six.

The right-hander took a shutout into the sixth inning before Zach McKinstry tripled to lead off the frame and scored on a Cease slider that was nowhere near the plate and got away from catcher Yasmani Grandal -- part of a bizarre contest that saw all three runs in the game score on wild pitches. Cease exited after 99 pitches (62 strikes), coming just short of his sixth quality start of the year. He'll take a 4.63 ERA and 74:32 K:BB through 68 innings into his next outing, likely to come at home next weekend against the Marlins.

Lorenzen didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the White Sox, allowing one run on two hits over seven innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

The right-hander did uncork two wild pitches, one of which brought home the only run against him -- foreshadowing the game's ending, when a Jose Cisnero wild pitch ricocheted off the mask of home plate umpire Cory Blaser and allowed Yoan Moncada to score -- but otherwise Lorenzen delivered arguably his best outing of the season. He's produced quality starts in five of his last six trips to the mound, posting a 1.83 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB in 39.1 innings over that stretch, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is likely to come at home next weekend against the Diamondbacks.

The Guardians moved Battenfield (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Battenfield landed on the 15-day injured list May 19 due to right shoulder inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL will keep him out through the All-Star break. Michael Kelly was selected to Cleveland's big-league roster in a corresponding move.

The Guardians optioned Gaddis to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Gaddis has been inconsistent in the majors this season -- he has three scoreless multi-inning appearances alongside four starts in which he allowed three runs or more. If he's able to right the ship in Triple-A, there's a chance he rejoins the big club later this season. For now, Michael Kelly will take Gaddis' spot after being selected from Columbus on Saturday.

Faedo was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right middle finger discomfort.

Faedo reported some tenderness in his right middle fingernail following his last turn in the Tigers' rotation Tuesday versus the Rangers. It doesn't sound like an overly serious injury, but he'll be sidelined for a little while. It's not clear how Detroit plans to fill the rotation vacancy, though Tyler Alexander could perhaps be elevated from the long-relief role that he's currently occupying.

Bassitt was placed on the paternity list Saturday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Bassitt was excused from the Blue Jays immediately after delivering 7.2 scoreless innings in a win over the Mets on Friday. He should be back in time for his next scheduled turn in the rotation, an outing in Toronto versus the visiting Astros.

McGee (elbow) was transferred from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

McGee is expected to be sidelined until late 2024 after undergoing Tommy John surgery last month. Bryan Woo will take over the vacant 40-man roster spot.

Gonzales was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left forearm strain.

Gonzales felt discomfort in his forearm following his last start May 28 against the Pirates and testing has since revealed a strain. Bryan Woo is up from Double-A Arkansas to fill the vacant spot in the Mariners' starting rotation, beginning with his MLB debut Saturday versus the Rangers. There's no timetable yet on Gonzales, but this type of injury usually requires more than just a couple weeks of rest and rehab.

Woo is set to make his major-league debut in a start Saturday against the Rangers as he skips the Triple-A level. The 23-year-old right-hander had registered a sharp 2.05 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 59:12 K:BB through 44 innings (nine starts) this season in the Texas League and seems worthy of a try in most fantasy formats. He's replacing Marco Gonzales (forearm) in the Mariners' rotation.
