Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Olson (abdomen) is day-to-day after he underwent an MRI on Wednesday that revealed no strain, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Olson will likely be sidelined for a few days while he recovers from abdominal soreness, but the encouraging results from the MRI should be enough for him to steer clear of an extended absence. The left-hander is expected to open the season at Triple-A Toledo, and he should be able to get in some appearances in the Grapefruit League if he experiences no setbacks once he resumes throwing.

Skubal (elbow) is completing his throwing progression and playing catch five times a week, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Skubal is still expected to miss the first couple months of the season, but his steady progression bodes well for a return near the start of June. The left-hander was as good as anyone in Detroit's rotation in 2022, producing a 3.52 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with a 8.9 K/9 over 117.2 innings in 21 starts. He figures to take another step up in 2023 if he can return to full health this summer.

Kluber allowed two hits and struck out one over two scoreless innings in Tuesday's spring game against Miami.

Kluber was the first member of Boston's projected rotation to take the hill and worked around a pair of hits, including a leadoff double in the second inning. He threw 26 pitches (18 strikes) in what looked like a routine outing for the 36-year-old veteran. "He went through his progression, threw strikes, got weak contact," Red Sox manager Alex Cora told Ian Browne of MLB.com. "Now we'll move on to the next one." According to Browne, Kluber's next start is scheduled for Sunday, when he'll throw three innings.

Paxton (lat) was singled out by Red Sox manager Alex Cora on Tuesday as someone who has impressed so far in camp, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Paxton hasn't made an appearance yet this spring but, at least according to his skipper, he has looked good in throwing sessions. The veteran left-hander has made just six major-league starts and one rehab start over the last three years because of various injuries, with the most recent one being a lat strain. He'll obviously remain a major health question mark in 2023, but it's good to hear positives about Paxton coming out of Red Sox camp.

Turnbull (elbow) will make his Grapefruit League debut Saturday versus the Blue Jays, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

It will mark the first game action since June of 2021 for Turnbull, who is coming back from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander has reportedly been impressive during throwing sessions this spring and will now get to test things out against live competition. He'll be under workload restrictions in 2023 but could be an interesting late-round fantasy target.

Glasnow is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks after he was diagnosed Tuesday with a Grade 2 left oblique strain following an MRI, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

The projected timetable is for Glasnow's return to game action, so it looks as though he'll be in store for a lengthy absence to begin the campaign. Glasnow, of course, was limited to just two abbreviated starts late in the 2022 season following a long rehab from Tommy John surgery.

Glasnow (oblique) will begin the season on the injured list, Rays manager Kevin Cash told Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times on Tuesday.

Topkin speculated as much when reporting on Glasnow's oblique injury Monday and Cash says of an IL stint that "I would book that right now," adding that the pitcher has "typical soreness, bothers him to sneeze, cough, whatever." The Rays are still waiting on Glasnow's MRI results and more should be known about a potential timetable once those are in.

Olson had been sidelined by a sore pitching elbow but now it appears he has a new injury to deal with. More will be known about his status after the results of the MRI are in.

Rodriguez (lat) will make his Grapefruit League debut Thursday versus the Tigers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Rodriguez missed three months last season while at Triple-A Norfolk due to a right lat strain, although he did return late in the year and entered spring training without any restrictions. He'll face some workload limitations in 2023 but is expected to break camp as part of the Orioles' rotation.

Texas manager Bruce Bochy said deGrom (side) is expected to throw two more bullpen sessions before getting into a spring training game, Jack Magruder of MLB.com reports.

After deGrom threw a second bullpen session Sunday, Bochy declared the right-hander on schedule for the regular season. Apparently, part of that schedule includes at least two more sessions, one of which may include batters. Mitch Garver, who caught Sunday's session, referred to deGrom's fastball as "special" and estimated the pitcher was at about 85 percent.
