Gonzales (5-9) earned the win over Toronto on Thursday, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 6.2 innings. He did not walk or strike out any batters.

Gonzales surrendered an unearned run in the second inning and two earned runs in the fifth, but he allowed only one extra-base hit (a double) and made it through 6.2 frames on an efficient 88 pitches. Contact was the name of the game for the southpaw in the win -- he notched only two swinging strikes and didn't produce any punchouts for the first time this season. Per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com, Gonzales became the first Seattle pitcher in over a decade to toss a quality start without a walk or a strikeout. The veteran's lack of punchouts (he has just 49 over 94.1 innings on the season) is a detriment in fantasy, but he's nonetheless been a useful starter with seven quality starts over his past eight appearances.

Cole (8-2) allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out seven across six innings to earn the win Thursday against the Red Sox.

Cole surrendered a pair of home runs to Rafael Devers, which was almost enough for him to blow a five-run advantage. Cole was fairly strong otherwise, racking up 17 swinging strikes on 94 total pitches while also working at least six innings for his fifth consecutive appearance. Despite the bumpy outing, Cole still has a 3.26 ERA and a 124:29 K:BB across 99.1 frames on the season.

Cease (7-4) took the loss Thursday against Detroit, allowing a run on three hits and a walk while fanning eight in six innings.

Cease was a strikeout machine again Thursday, twice fanning three batters in an inning. The lone run against him came on a Javier Baez solo homer in the fourth. The 26-year-old has fanned eight batters or more in five of his last six starts and has allowed one earned run or fewer in eight straight outings. His next start will likely come early next week in Cleveland.

Lyles (5-7) allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out four across six innings to earn the win Thursday against the Angels.

Lyles threw six shutout innings, but he lost the scoreless effort when he allowed a leadoff double in the seventh frame prior to being pulled. He has now worked at least six innings in each of his last four appearances, allowing more than two earned runs only once in that span. Overall, Lyles has maintained a 4.50 ERA and 81:31 K:BB across 98 innings on the season.

The Red Sox announced that Seabold will be called up from Triple-A Worcester to start Friday's game against the Yankees, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Since Seabold was optioned to Worcester earlier this week, the Red Sox will have to place another player on the injured list to facilitate his return to the 26-man active roster. Michael Wacha (arm), who won't be available to start Friday as originally hoped, could be the player the Red Sox move to the IL. Seabold has made two starts with Boston this season, failing to reach the sixth inning on both occasions. He had mixed results in those two outings, surrendering a combined eight earned runs across 8.2 frames.

Wacha (arm) is likely to be placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Wacha was already ruled out from his scheduled start Friday, and it now appears that he will be in for a lengthier absence. To this point, the right-hander has only been diagnosed with a "heavy arm," so he may be able to return shortly after the All-Star break. Connor Seabold is expected to enter the rotation in Wacha's place.

Gausman (ankle) threw on flat ground Thursday and is scheduled for a bullpen session Friday to determine when he will make his next start, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Gausman underwent a follow-up MRI on Thursday, which confirmed that he had a bone bruise in his ankle rather than a fracture. While that's good news, his status for a potential start Sunday at Seattle is uncertain. If he is unable to take the mound Sunday, Max Castillo is the likeliest candidate to start, with Gausman then tentatively slotting into Tuesday's matchup against the Phillies.

Kikuchi was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a neck strain.

Kikuchi struggled in his start Tuesday at Oakland, allowing four earned runs across 2.1 innings. There was no indication that he dealt with an injury during the game, though he'll now be sidelined until after the All-Star break. The team has not announced a replacement in the rotation, but Thomas Hatch recently made an unsuccessful spot start for the big-league club while Max Castillo was recalled to fill Kikuchi's spot on the roster.

Detmers will likely start Friday's game against the Orioles, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

The Angels need somebody to fill a rotation spot for Friday's matchup in Baltimore after Michael Lorenzen (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list, and Detmers will likely rejoin the active roster after being sent down in late June. He allowed just one run on three hits and a walk while striking out 14 in six innings during a start at Triple-A Salt Lake on June 29, and he'll be pitching on full rest if he ultimately takes the mound for the Angels in Baltimore.

Lorenzen was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to July 4, due to a right shoulder strain.

It's unclear exactly how long Lorenzen has been dealing with the injury, though he's struggled across his past three starts with a 9:11 K:BB and 16 earned runs allowed over 11 innings. According to Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic, the 30-year-old is scheduled to undergo an MRI, the results of which should provide an indication of whether or not he'll spend more than the 15-day minimum on the shelf.
