Rodriguez (personal) remains without any sort of return timetable, with the Tigers electing to respect his privacy rather than give further information regarding his absence, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez was on the verge of returning from a rib injury in mid-June but had to leave the team due to a personal issue, the nature of which still hasn't been specified by the Tigers. Manager A.J. Hinch said Friday that Rodriguez is back at his home in Florida with his children but didn't provide any information on his expected return date.

Civale won't start Friday against the Yankees as previously scheduled, as the game has been postponed due to rain.

The Red Sox hope Sale, who completed four innings in Thursday's start at Double-A, gets through five frames next time out. If so, he could make his 2022 debut as soon as July 11 in Tampa Bay. Sale's been touching the mid-90s with his fastball during the rehab assignment, which is a promising sign as he nears activation from the 60-day injured list.

Gilbert (9-3) earned the win over Oakland on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters over six innings.

In comparison to Gilbert's body of work this season, Thursday's performance was relatively disappointing. He tied a season low with three strikeouts and a season worst with four earned runs, yet the right-hander managed to notch his fourth victory in five starts. Gilbert has blossomed in his sophomore MLB campaign, posting a 2.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 92:26 K:BB over 94.2 innings. He's tied for the second in the American League with nine wins.

Severino (4-3) allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Astros.

Severino has shown strikeout stuff all season -- he has 91 punchouts across 78 innings -- but he induced only six swinging strikes across 87 pitches Thursday. Despite seemingly lacking his best stuff, Severino still managed to limit one of the better lineups in the league, with the only runs against him coming on a two-run double by Alex Bregman in the third inning. Severino also managed to work at least six innings for the seventh time in his last eight starts. Overall, he has a 3.35 ERA and a 91:23 K:BB across 78 innings on the season.

Garcia (6-5) allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out six across 5.1 innings to earn the win Thursday against the Yankees.

Garcia threw a season-high 101 pitches and impressively shut down one of the most dangerous lineups in the league. The lone run against him came on a solo home run by Anthony Rizzo, but he otherwise limited the Yankees to a pair of singles. Garcia has maintained an impressive 35:7 K:BB across his last six starts, and he has earned the win in each of his last three outings. Overall, he has a 3.54 ERA across 76.1 innings on the season.
