Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Astros' Jake Odorizzi: Begins throwing Friday
Odorizzi (lower leg) played catch Friday, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Odorizzi was taken off the field on a stretcher Monday against Boston, and he underwent an MRI recently that revealed some strains and sprains to the ligaments of his right foot/ankle. While the right-hander is still in the early stages of his recovery and doesn't yet have a timetable to return, it's encouraging that he's already been cleared to throw.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Tigers' Eduardo Rodriguez: Still needs IL stint
Rodriguez got good news from an MRI on Friday, as the test showed no damage to his oblique, but he's still expected to hit the injured list, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Rodriguez left his start Wednesday against the Rays in the first inning with an injury which was originally called side discomfort. While he's apparently avoided a serious issue, he'll still miss at least two turns in the rotation and won't be back until early June. With Matt Manning (shoulder), Casey Mize (elbow), Tyler Alexander (elbow) and Michael Pineda (finger) all on the shelf as well, the Tigers will have to dig deep into their depth rotation options for at least the next couple weeks.

Connor Seabold RP | KC
Red Sox's Connor Seabold: Managing pectoral issue
Seabold was scratched from Friday's start for Triple-A Worcester due to a pectoral injury, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
It's not believed to be serious injury, but it will still cost him at least one turn through the rotation. Seabold has started strong for Worcester this season and has a 2.45 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB across 36.2 innings.

Luis Gil SP | NYY
Yankees' Luis Gil: Contending with major injury
Manager Aaron Boone said Gil (elbow) is dealing with a "significant" injury, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
The right-hander was removed from Wednesday's start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with an apparent elbow injury, and he'll apparently be sidelined for the foreseeable future. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but Gil's availability for the rest of the season is now in queston.

Matt Manning SP | PHI
Tigers' Matt Manning: Slated to make another rehab start
Manning (shoulder/illness) will make another rehab start at Triple-A Toledo, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Manning was removed from Thursday's rehab start since he was experiencing lightheadedness, and manager A.J. Hinch said Friday that the right-hander's removal wasn't related to his arm. However, Manning will make another appearance in the minors after his last outing was cut short. While he'll miss another turn through the rotation, he should be in the mix to return in late May.

White Sox's Dallas Keuchel: Friday's start postponed

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday. Keuchel will start Saturday's contest, with Johnny Cueto and Michael Kopech handling the twin bill.

Yankees' Nestor Cortes: Scheduled start postponed

Michael Wacha SP | KC
Red Sox's Michael Wacha: Activated for Friday's start
Wacha (side) was activated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start against the Mariners on Friday.
The 30-year-old spent the 15-day minimum on the shelf after going down with left intercostal irritation, and the brevity of his absence will allow him to return without a minor-league rehab assignment. Wacha threw a two-inning simulated game earlier this week but hasn't seen game action since May 3, so he could have some minor workload limitations in his first start back. The right-hander is off to a strong start in 2022 with a 1.38 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 19:11 K:BB through five starts.

Tommy Mace P | CLE
Guardians' Tommy Mace: Dealing with calf injury
Mace (calf) has been placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list at High-A Lake County.
Mace has struggled in his first season of affiliated ball, posting a 6.30 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB across 20 innings in six starts. He'll be sidelined for at least a week as he deals with the calf injury.

Michael Kopech SP | LAD
White Sox's Michael Kopech: Back from paternity list
Kopech was activated from the paternity list Friday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The 26-year-old left the White Sox on Tuesday and will return without missing a start, as expected. Kopech lines up to take the mound Sunday against the Yankees, with Dallas Keuchel and Johnny Cueto poised to start the first two games of the series.
