Stripling didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-1 win over the A's, scattering two hits over four scoreless innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Making his first start of the season, Striping didn't allow a runner to get past second base but got the hook after 62 pitches (40 strikes) and didn't last long enough to qualify for a win. The Blue Jays plan to employ a sixth starter on a semi-regular basis all season, but there's no guarantee Stripling will get the call every time as Nate Pearson (illness), Thomas Hatch and others could also be in the mix.

Lyles didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1, 11-inning win over the Yankees, giving up one run on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

A third-inning RBI single by Giancarlo Stanton accounted for the only damage against Lyles, who exited the game after tossing 91 pitches (60 strikes). With John Means (elbow) now joining Dean Kremer (oblique) on the shelf, the Orioles will need as much length from Lyles as they can get, but the veteran right-hander's 5.23 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB through his first 10.1 innings this season don't offer much reason for optimism. He tentatively lines up to take the mound Wednesday in Oakland.

Montgomery didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1, 11-inning loss to the Orioles, allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings while striking out two.

The Yankees held a 1-0 lead when Montgomery exited the game after 71 pitches (43 strikes), but the bullpen couldn't make it stick. The southpaw has had a solid beginning to the season, posting a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 6:3 K:BB through 8.1 innings, but it's too early to say whether the breakout anticipated in some quarters will come to pass. Montgomery will look for his first win of the year in his next scheduled start Thursday, on the road in Detroit.

Garcia was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Saturday.

Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Toledo in late March, and he tossed 3.2 scoreless innings in four relief appearances to begin the regular season. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll likely remain in Toledo.

Odorizzi (0-1) took the loss during Friday's 11-1 defeat at the hands of the Mariners, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks with one strikeout in 4.1 innings.

Odorizzi permitted multiple baserunners leading to runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings, only for the Houston bullpen to allow seven more runs in the final three innings. That's now consecutive starts going fewer than five innings for the 32-year-old, who has offered little in the way of strikeouts thus far as well.

Gonzales (1-1) picked up the win in Friday's 11-1 victory over Houston, allowing one run on four hits with six strikeouts in seven innings.

Gonzales held a formidable Houston lineup scoreless through six innings until surrendering a lone run in the seventh on two hits. It was an excellent rebound from permitting six runs in two innings last Sunday, as the 30-year-old surrendered half as many baserunners in five more innings pitched. He lines up to toe the rubber next against Texas on Thursday.

Kaprielian (shoulder) allowed two earned runs on three hits over five innings while recording six strikeouts and zero walks during Low-A Stockton's win over Modesto on Friday.

Both runs off Kaprielian came on solo home runs, but he otherwise looked good over 52 pitches, 41 which he threw for strikes. With one solid rehab start under his belt, it's likely the right-hander next toes the rubber at a higher-level affiliate as he continues to ramp up for a possible late-April season debut with the Athletics.

Allard (0-1) allowed five runs on five hits over 1.1 innings Friday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Angels.

He entered the game after Matt Bush and Albert Abreu. After tossing a scoreless fourth inning, things fell apart for Allard in the fifth as he coughed up five straight hits, including home runs by Kurt Suzuki, Shohei Ohtani and Jared Walsh. It was Allard's second appearance of the season after tossing a scoreless inning April 12 against Colorado.

Detmers yielded five runs on six hits and a walk over 3.1 innings in Friday's win over Texas. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.

Detmers had allowed just one run on an RBI fielder's choice through the first three innings before the wheels fell off in the fourth. He put four consecutive batters on base with one out, including a two-run double by Charlie Culberson, before leaving the game. He was later charged with two more runs that came around to score with Austin Warren on the mound. Detmers now owns a brutal 8.59 ERA with an 8:3 K:BB through 7.1 frames. He's expected to face Baltimore at home next week.

Keller (0-1) took the loss, throwing seven innings with five strikeouts and allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in a 2-1 loss Friday against Detroit.

Keller allowed only one single in the first six innings and needed just 74 pitches to complete those frames. With two outs in the seventh, Spencer Torkelson uncorked a two-run homer to put Detroit ahead 2-1. Despite going winless, the 26-year-old has been excellent in his first two starts, allowing only eight baserunners in 13 innings. His next start is scheduled Thursday against Minnesota.
