Manoah (back) won't return from the injured list early next week, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Manoah had initially hoped that he'd be able to return to the Blue Jays in time to start Monday's series opener in Boston, but he'll instead make a simulated start in Florida on Monday. It's not yet clear when the right-hander will be able to return from the injured list.

Cortes allowed three runs on three hits across two innings Friday versus Boston. He struck out three batters and did not issue a walk.

The left-handed hurler was activated from the COVID-19 injured list earlier in the day and got into the division clash with Boston leading by two runs in the sixth inning. Cortes got through his first frame unscathed, but Rafael Devers tagged him for a three-run homer in the seventh that broke the game open for the Red Sox. The blast accounted for as many earned runs against Cortes (three) as he had allowed through 25.2 innings prior to Friday. He still carries an impressive 1.95 ERA on the season.

Manager Alex Cora said that Rodriguez (illness) felt better Saturday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Rodriguez was removed from Friday's game against the Yankees after one inning due to migraine issues, and the team told him to report late to the ballpark Saturday. The Red Sox haven't yet announced whether the southpaw will be able to make his next start, but he appears to be trending in the right direction. If he's cleared to pitch, Rodriguez tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Kikuchi allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out 12 over six innings Friday against the Athletics. He did not factor into the decision.

Kikuchi delivered an excellent bounce-back game after he was roughed up in his last two starts. He compiled 12 of his 17 whiffs with his changeup and his 12 strikeouts were a career-high mark. The 30-year-old southpaw was hurt by the long ball in this one, surrendering solo homers to Matt Chapman and Matt Olson before the A's tacked on another run in the fifth on an RBI double from Mark Canha. Kikuchi owns a 3.95 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 117:36 K:BB over 109.1 innings. He'll be in search of his first win since July 1 next week when he takes on the Astros.

Montas allowed three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out 10 over six innings Friday against the Mariners. He did not factor into the decision.

Montas butted heads with Yusei Kikuchi on Friday as the two put on a clinic with 22 combined strikeouts. The 28-year-old Montas induced 24 whiffs, 13 of them coming on his splitter. He's now struck out 10 batters in two of his last three starts. All three runs he gave up came in the second after Cal Raleigh and Luis Torrens hit back-to-back homers off him. Montas owns a 4.34 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 122:30 K:BB over 112 innings and is set up for a start against the Angels next week.

Matz (8-5) took the loss Friday as the Blue Jays fell 3-0 to the Mets, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

Pete Alonso launched a two-run shot off Matz in the first inning, giving the former Met a rude welcome in his return to Citi Field, but he locked things down after that and kept the Jays in the game. Unfortunately for the southpaw, his team's offense was uncharacteristically flat and managed only three singles all night. It was Matz's longest outing in four starts since returning from the COVID-19 list in late June, and on the season he sports a 4.34 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 89:24 K:BB through 87 innings.

Cole (10-5) was tagged with the loss Friday against the Red Sox after allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while fanning eight across five innings.

Cole gave up a two-run shot to Rafael Devers and gave up his three runs during the bottom of the fifth. The star hurler was coming off back-to-back quality starts and had allowed just one earned run over his last 15 innings, but he was unable to repeat that kind of performance in this one and failed to pitch more than five frames for the third time over his last five starts.

Giolito (8-7) allowed a run on six hits and five walks while striking out three in six innings, taking the loss versus Milwaukee on Friday.

Despite matching his season-high total for baserunners, the right-hander was able to limit the damage to just one run. Giolito kept the White Sox in it, but relievers Aaron Bummer and Ryan Burr melted down in the seventh inning. Through 119 innings, Giolito owns a 3.78 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 136:38 K:BB this year. He projects to make his next start in Kansas City next week.

Odorizzi allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in Friday's win over the Rangers. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

Odorizzi rolled through four easy innings before the Rangers finally broke through in the fifth. He coughed up three runs, including a two-run triple by Nate Lowe, before he was knocked out of the game. It was his second straight game failing to finish the fifth inning, but he avoided taking his third straight loss.The 31-year-old's ERA jumped to 4.23 through 55.1 frames. Odorizzi is lined up to take the mound in Seattle next week.

Allard (2-8) allowed seven runs on seven hits and a walk over four innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Astros.

Allard kept the Astros off the board for two innings before a disastrous third in which he allowed five runs, including a three-run shot by Kyle Tucker. He coughed up another pair of runs in the fourth before leaving the game after 90 pitches. It was his third straight outing giving up at least four earned runs, bumping his ERA to 4.71 through 72.2 frames. Allard is projected to face Seattle at home next week.
