Rodriguez (6-4) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out eight in six innings to earn the win over the Yankees on Sunday.

Rodriguez delivered his third quality start in 15 outings this year. The only blemish on his line was a two-run home run by Aaron Judge in the sixth inning. Sunday's win snapped a run of eight straight starts without a victory for Rodriguez. The southpaw carries a 5.83 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 93:19 K:BB across 78.2 innings into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for next weekend in Oakland.

Manager Alex Cora said Sale (elbow) will throw a two-inning live batting practice session Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

The skipper said that Sale is "feeling great" following his 15-pitch live BP session Saturday. The southpaw will ramp up the pitch count when he throws to hitters again Wednesday, after which he could begin a minor-league rehab assignment. With that in mind, Sale remains in line for a mid-to-late July return to the Boston rotation.

Detmers tossed six innings for Double-A Rocket City on Saturday, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out 16.

Detmers' outing wasn't without flaws -- he gave up three homers and five earned runs -- but the 21-year-old flashed his impressive strikeout ability by fanning 16 batters over six frames. He has struck out a total of 30 batters over his past two starts covering 12 innings and has registered a massive 16.7 K/9 on the season.

Keuchel will replace Lance Lynn when Saturday's suspended game resumes Sunday, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Keuchel was originally slated to start Sunday, but with Saturday's game getting paused in the bottom of the third inning, he'll technically serve as a long reliever for Lance Lynn. With just six innings remaining in the contest, Keuchel could finish the game if he's efficient. The White Sox have not announced who will start the seven-inning game later Sunday.

Gonzales won't start Sunday against the White Sox after being placed on the paternity list so he can attend the birth of his first child, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Gonzales was previously slated to start the seven-inning contest that will follow the suspended game from Saturday, but the Mariners will need to turn elsewhere for innings during the series finale. Gonzales would figure to be able to pitch sometime during the upcoming series against the Blue Jays, but he's not currently listed among the club's probables for the series in Buffalo. If that holds, he could line up to take the ball Friday against the Rangers. The Mariners have yet to announce who will toe the rubber in place of Gonzales on Sunday.

Mize (5-4) allowed one run across six innings to earn the win in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Astros on Saturday. He gave up six hits and two walks while striking out five.

Against a potent Houston lineup, Mize was very effective, and the righty has now held his opponents to three earned runs or fewer in 11 straight starts. He hasn't been overpowering hitters (71 strikeouts in 88.1 innings), but the 24-year-old has been solid with a 3.46 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. The former No. 1 overall pick seems to be settling in at the MLB level as a reliable starter, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next scheduled start Friday against the White Sox.

Valdez (4-1) allowed three runs on six hits and struck out six over six innings and was tagged with the loss to the Tigers in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Valdez continued to impress, throwing a fifth straight quality start, but he got little support from Houston's lineup. The Astros entered the game on an offensive roll but managed just six singles off Detroit right-hander Casey Mize. The left-hander, who threw 86 pitches, could have pitched into the seventh inning for a fifth straight start, but MLB's decision to play seven-inning doubleheaders precluded that. Valdez's next turn through the rotation is due Thursday, July 1.

Montas took the no-decision in Saturday's 6-5 loss to San Francisco, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings.

Montas rebounded nicely from last start's eight runs allowed, surrendering both of his runs on a LaMonte Wade two-run home run. The five total baserunners were the second fewest in any of Montas' 16 starts as he looks to regain his excellent 2019 form.

Montgomery (3-2) allowed three earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five across six innings, taking the loss against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Montgomery posted a quality start but got outdueled by opposing pitcher Nathan Eovaldi in the loss. After retiring the side in the first inning, Montgomery allowed the first three batters to reach base safely in the second inning, leading to a pair of runs scored. He allowed just one extra-base hit, a third-inning double by Xander Bogaerts. The 28-year-old has a 4.06 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP in 82 innings this season. Despite pitching well as of late, he hasn't won in any of his last four starts.

Eovaldi (8-4) allowed one earned run on seven hits while striking out six across 7.2 innings, earning the win over the Yankees on Saturday.

Eovaldi shut out the Yankees through 7.2 innings before surrendering a solo home run to DJ LeMahieu. He earned the victory in what ended up being his longest start of the season. It was a nice comeback after being pulled in his last outing against the Royals with just four innings pitched. The 31-year-old has a 3.67 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 8.3 K/9 in 90.2 innings. Although he isn't a high-strikeout pitcher, Eovaldi is tied for seventh in the American league in total innings pitched, proving to be reliable and consistent throughout the season.
