Wells (2-0) struck out two in 1.1 perfect innings to earn the win against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Wells entered Friday's game to record the final out in the top of the fifth inning with runners on the corners. He struck out Marcus Semien to finish the inning, and he retired each of the three batters he faced in the sixth to pick up his second win of the year. The right-hander has struck out 12 in 11 scoreless innings across his last six outings.

Ray (4-3) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five in 4.1 innings to take the loss against the Orioles on Friday.

Ray had recorded double-digit strikeouts in each of his last two starts, but he was unable to get into a similar rhythm Friday. He gave up a leadoff home run in the first inning and allowed another run to come across by giving up three singles in the bottom of the fifth. The southpaw has posted a 3.50 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 97:19 K:BB in 74.2 innings across his first 13 starts of the year. Ray tentatively lines up to make his next appearance on the road against Miami on Wednesday.

Garcia allowed a run on seven hits and two walks over seven innings in Friday's win over the White Sox. He struck out eight and did not factor in the decision.

The only run to score on Garcia came on a first-inning single by Jose Abreu. He held the White Sox off the board the rest of the evening but had to escape multiple threats throughout the contest. The 24-year-old righty has now allowed two or fewer runs in five of his last six starts, bringing his season ERA down to 2.82 through 70.1 innings. Garcia is projected to face the Tigers in Detroit next week.

Rodon allowed one run on three hits and three walks over seven innings in Friday's loss to Houston. He struck out eight and did not factor in the decision.

Rodon cruised through four perfect innings to start the game before running into trouble in the fifth. He loaded the bases and walked in a run but managed to escape the jam before allowing any more damage. He's given up one or fewer runs in five of his last six starts, lowering his season ERA to 1.83 through 73.2 innings. Rodon is lined up to face Seattle at home next week.

Glasnow (elbow) will be shut down for four weeks while he receives treatment, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Manager Kevin Cash seemed encouraged by the latest update for the Rays' ace right-hander, as it looks like Glasnow could resume throwing in a month's time. If that timeline holds, he'd need about four more weeks to get all the way stretched out before returning to the rotation. Obviously, a lot could take place between now and mid-July, but given this update, a mid-to-late August return is not out of the question for the 27-year-old.

Boyd (triceps) is dealing with muscular tendinitis and won't return before the All-Star break, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Boyd was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Although several doctors seem to have ruled out structural damage, the team will give the southpaw extended time to recover to make sure he's fully healthy when he returns. Matt Manning and Wily Peralta could remain in the rotation while Boyd and Spencer Turnbull (forearm) are sidelined.

Dunn (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday.

Dunn left his Thursday start after two innings due to soreness in his right shoulder. Per Corey Brock of The Athletic, Dunn is waiting on the results of an MRI taken earlier Friday. The right-hander spent just over the minimum 10 days on the IL earlier this month due to shoulder inflammation. The Mariners are expected to go back to a five-man rotation for the time being.

Bubic will not start Saturday's game against the Red Sox and will be available out of the bullpen beginning Friday, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Bubic originally lined up to take the ball Saturday, but the Royals have opted to skip him and Jackson Kowar with the club having an off day Thursday and another off day Monday. Both Bubic and Kowar will be available out of the bullpen Friday and it's not clear what the Royals are planning to do with their rotation past this weekend. Brad Keller and Mike Minor will move up to start Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Sale (elbow) threw 40 pitches in a bullpen session Friday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Sale impressed during a bullpen session at the end of last week, and he had another throwing session in Worcester on Friday. The southpaw treated the bullpen as though he was warming up for a game as he continues to make progress in his recovery. Manager Alex Cora has expressed optimism that Sale could face hitters in the near future, but he'll continue to be monitored in the coming days to determine his next steps.

Houck (elbow) checked out fine after his start for Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Houck was only expected to throw two innings Thursday, but he wound up throwing 45 pitches across three scoreless innings. He allowed no hits and a walk while striking out six. The right-hander will continue to be monitored in the coming days, but he should continue to ramp up his workload going forward.
