Bieber allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts in 5.1 innings versus Minnesota on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.

Bieber allowed seven or more hits for the fourth time in his last five starts. He was pulled with one out in the sixth inning after allowing the game-tying run on an Alex Kirilloff single. The right-hander's ERA bumped up to 3.32 with a 1.26 WHIP and 98:23 K:BB across 65 innings this season. Bieber's next start is projected for next week in Detroit.

The Twins placed Maeda on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right adductor strain, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

After battling groin tightness in his May 16 start against the Athletics, Maeda was able to make his next turn through the rotation in Saturday's 5-3 loss to Cleveland, but the injury continued to trouble him. Manager Rocco Baldelli revealed Sunday that Maeda is dealing with a strain, so the veteran right-hander will be on the shelf for at least the next week and a half to heal up. Maeda's absence should pave the way for Randy Dobnak to temporarily hold down a rotation spot.

The Mariners elected to push Kikuchi out of his scheduled start Sunday against the Padres after he felt a little under the weather in recent days, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports. He's now lined up to start Monday's game against the Athletics in Oakland.

Justin Dunn will be called upon to start Sunday's game on four days' rest after he completed a 94-pitch outing Tuesday against the Tigers. Kikuchi likely could have taken the hill Sunday if needed, but the Mariners chose to exercise some caution by giving him an extra day to recover from the illness. The southpaw shouldn't face any limitations with his pitch count when he takes the hill Monday, and he'll tentatively line up for two starts during the upcoming week. His second turn would come May 29 or 30 versus the Rangers in Seattle.

The Rays activated Wacha (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Blue Jays, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Tampa Bay cleared room for Wacha on the 26-man active roster by optioning right-hander Brent Honeywell to Triple-A Durham following Saturday's 3-1 win over Toronto. Since Wacha didn't head out on a minor-league rehab assignment after he was shut down three weeks ago with the hamstring injury, the Rays likely won't count on him to work deep into Sunday's start. Look for Josh Fleming to cover the bulk of the innings in long relief once Wacha exits the contest.

Dunn is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Padres after the Mariners elected to push Yusei Kikuchi back a day in the pitching schedule while he recovers from an illness, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle

For the first time all season, Dunn will be called upon to pitch on four days' rest. Though Dunn took a second consecutive loss in his last turn on the mound Tuesday against the Tigers, he struck out a career-high nine batters while permitting only two runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings.

Allard (1-0) picked up his first win of the season Saturday against Houston. He walked one and struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Allard was the pitcher of record when the Rangers plated five runs in the seventh inning to grab the lead. He came on for Hunter Wood, who left the game with two outs in the sixth inning due to elbow tightness. This was the eighth straight appearance in which Allard threw multiple innings. He's been used as a piggyback reliever for starters that are, by design, not being asked to go deep into games and will continue in that same vein. The left-hander has experience as a starter and could work his way into the rotation at some point. Allard has a 3.15 ERA with 23 strikeouts and six walks over 20 innings.

Odorizzi (forearm) is scheduled to throw between 75 and 80 pitches in Sunday's rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Both Odorizzi and Framber Valdez (finger) were scheduled to throw for the Skeeters this weekend, but Valdez's start Saturday was wiped out due to weather, which leaves Sunday's rotation plans uncertain. Saturday's postponed game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Monday, so both pitchers should get their work in over the next two days. Odorizzi previously said he'd need just two rehab starts, but an exact timeline has not yet been established. He threw 57 pitches during his first rehab outing last week.

Valdez (finger) had his rehab start Saturday at Triple-A Sugar Land rained out.

This was to be Valdez's second rehab start, and he was scheduled to throw about 65 pitches. Jake Odorizzi (forearm) had been scheduled to follow Valdez in Sugar Land's rotation -- making his second rehab start Sunday -- but the Skeeters have not announced rotation plans in light of the rainout. Both pitchers will get their starts in whether that be Sunday or as part of a doubleheader Monday.

Sandoval (0-1) went five innings and took the loss in Saturday's 6-2 defeat to Oakland, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Both of Sandoval's runs allowed came at the expense of Mark Canha, but otherwise the righty performed admirably. The five innings was his longest outing of the season and he's allowed two runs or less in four of five outings, though a 4.96 ERA shows there's room for growth.

Bassitt (4-2) beat the Angels , 6-2 on Saturday, throwing 7.2 innings and allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts.

Bassitt cruised through seven with a 6-0 lead but allowed two runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth before being removed with two outs. He's averaged more than six innings per start this season with a 3.69 ERA and 16:73 K:BB ratio.
