Singer was diagnosed with a left heel contusion after he exited Friday's game against the Twins.

Singer was hit by a hard comebacker to end the second inning Friday, and he was helped off the field by a trainer. It's not yet clear whether the right-hander will be forced to miss additional time due to the injury.

Singer exited Friday's game against the Twins at the end of the second inning with an apparent left foot injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Singer took a comebacker off his left foot in the bottom of the second inning, and he left the field with a trainer. Although the exact nature and severity of Singer's injury aren't yet clear, he was replaced by Tyler Zuber in the bottom of the third inning. Singer allowed one run on two hits and three walks while striking out one in two innings prior to his departure. It's unclear whether Singer will be able to make his next start, as he tentatively lines up to take the mound at home against Cleveland on Wednesday.

Boyd (knee) is likely to miss his turn through the rotation next week but may not require a trip to the injured list, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Manager A.J. Hinch indicated Friday the early returns were positive after the left-hander was pulled from Thursday's start with left knee tendinitis. Even if Boyd gets placed on the IL, he could still end up missing only the one start since the Tigers have scheduled off days the next two Mondays.

Hill was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday while experiencing side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

The Rangers addressed a potential pitch-tipping situation with Arihara ahead of his scheduled start Friday against the Red Sox, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

In his last start against the White Sox on Sunday, Arihara allowed 10 baserunners in just two innings. Chicago batters laid off his splitter and changeup, which aroused suspicion among Texas coaches. "I did kind of see something there," manager Chris Woodward said. "[Co-pitching coach] Doug [Mathis] talked to him a little bit about it, just to make sure that we get ahead of it. I don't know if they had it or not, but it just looked kind of fishy to me."

Severino (elbow) isn't far off from facing live hitters, Max Goodman of Sports Illustrated reports.

Severino has been progressing through a throwing program in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and he was able to resume firing sliders in early April. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Severino is "getting close" to facing live hitters, which would represent another significant step on his path back to the big leagues. The right-hander is currently on the 60-day injured list and isn't expected back until July.

Perez (0-2) tossed 5.2 innings in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Texas, allowing five hits and two runs (one earned) with seven strikeouts. He also hit a batter.

A pair of errors actually contributed to both runs charged to Perez as the veteran submitted his best start of the season. He's still yet to throw six innings in a game but hasn't allowed more than four runs in any of his five starts. Perez lines up to make his next start Wednesday against Detroit.

Montgomery allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one across five innings Thursday against the Orioles. He did not factor into the decision.

Montgomery allowed one run in the first inning, but he settled in from there to hold the Orioles scoreless for the next four frames. He got a quick hook after surrendering a solo home run to Trey Mancini to lead off the sixth inning, ruining the chance for him to earn a win. Montgomery has maintained a 24:8 K:BB across 26.2 innings, though that has translated to just a 4.39 ERA. He'll look to turn things around from a results perspective in his next outing, currently projected to come Wednesday against Houston.

Cease (1-0) shut out the Tigers on three hits while striking out nine over seven innings in the second leg of Thursday's doubleheader.

The righty was dealing Thursday and had the best start of his season, leaving the Tigers guessing all night. The 25-year-old threw 66 of his 91 pitches for strikes and now has a 2.96 ERA. It is noteworthy that Cease was dominant due to his sharp command, as it was his first appearance without walking a batter.

Gibson (3-0) picked up another win Thursday against Boston, going six innings and allowing one run on three hits and three walks with four punchouts.

Gibson was able to stay out of trouble yet again, as the only real damage came on a sixth-inning Rafael Devers RBI double. After a disastrous first outing, Gibson has allowed only three runs in 33 innings across his five subsequent starts.
