Gibson did not factor into the decision in Thursday's Opening Day loss to the Royals after surrendering five runs on four hits and three walks while recording a strikeout for his only out of the start.

Gibson just couldn't get things going. The veteran right-hander gave up back-to-back singles and three consecutive walks before finally sending Hunter Dozier down on strikes for his first and only out. Gibson was making his first Opening Day start against Kansas City, which happens to be the team he made his MLB debut against in 2013. The 33-year-old was hoping to turn it around after posting a rough 5.35 ERA last season, but this start highlights just how low his fantasy floor is. With the Blue Jays up next for him on Wednesday, things aren't set to get much easier.

Keller took a no-decision during Thursday's Opening Day win over the Rangers after allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks without recording any strikeouts across 1.1 innings.

Making the second Opening Day start of his career, Keller quickly worked his way into trouble in the first inning, facing a total of 10 batters, with a bases-clearing double by Nate Lowe giving the Rangers a 5-0 lead with no outs. It didn't get much better in the second inning, when the Royals turned to the bullpen after Keller gave up another run and struggled to record just one out. During Cactus League play this spring, the right-hander allowed eight runs (six earned) on 15 hits and seven walks while striking out six over 9.1 innings. Keller will look to bounce back Wednesday at Cleveland, though it might be best to steer clear until he can iron things out.

Maeda gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks while fanning five across 4.1 innings Thursday against the Brewers. He didn't factor into the decision.

Maeda allowed lots of hard contact and didn't have his best stuff at times, but he still found a way to limit the damage. The Japanese veteran is looking to build on a strong 2020 campaign in which he posted a 2.70 ERA and 0.75 WHIP across 11 starts; it's hard to expect him to match that ridiculous WHIP this year, but Maeda should still deliver strong ratios and plenty of strikeouts for the Twins.

Wacha finished Grapefruit League play with a 0.60 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, .176 BAA and 12:2 K:BB in 15 innings across five appearances.

The veteran right-hander tuned up for his scheduled regular-season debut Monday against the Red Sox with three scoreless innings versus the Tigers on Tuesday -- a game in which he actually served as the bulk reliever behind opener Cody Reed. Adam Berry of MLB.com reports that Wacha is still more likely than not to serve as a conventional starter versus Boston, but manager Kevin Cash said "it's all a possibility" when asked how he might deploy the offseason acquisition during his first regular-season turn in a Rays uniform.

Glasnow took a no-decision in Thursday's Opening Day win after holding the Marlins scoreless over six frames, striking out six while allowing just one hit and no walks.

In what turned into a pitcher's duel with Sandy Alcantara, Glasnow was nothing short of brilliant in his first start of the year. The 27-year-old had a new weapon on display, as he's added a slider into his arsenal. In fact, he threw that newly acquired pitch 26 times while exceeding 100 mph with his fastball. The right-hander, who finished spring action with a remarkable 27:7 K:BB across 14.2 innings, will take the mound again Tuesday at Boston.

Montas (finger) is on track to pitch Monday against the Dodgers after throwing a successful simulated game Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Montas suffered a ripped cuticle March 25, and his status has remained uncertain since. However, he "threw great" during the simulated game and appears ready to start the team's fifth contest of the campaign.

Cole allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over 5.1 innings in Thursday's loss to the Blue Jays. He didn't factor into the decision.

Cole gave up three straight singles to open the second inning and bring the first run across, and he surrendered a game-tying home run to Teoscar Hernandez in the top of the sixth. The star righty threw 97 pitches in this Opening Day start, but he received no decision as the Blue Jays picked up the win in the 10th inning. Cole will make his second start of the season at home against the Orioles on Tuesday.

Ryu allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings in Thursday's loss to the Yankees. He didn't factor into the decision.

Ryu was able to limit baserunners throughout most of this season-opening start, but the two-run homer he surrendered to Gary Sanchez in the bottom of the second inning forced the southpaw to settle for a no-decision. Ryu lines up to make his second start of the season on the road Wednesday against the Rangers.

Boyd (1-0) allowed three hits and four walks while striking out two over 5.2 scoreless innings to earn the win against Cleveland on Thursday.

Boyd had only one scoreless appearance across his 12 starts in 2020, but he began the 2021 campaign on a high note. The southpaw allowed baserunners in five of the first six innings Thursday, and it's concerning that he only struck out two batters, but he still exceeded expectations. Boyd will attempt to remain effective at home against Minnesota on Wednesday.

Bieber (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out 12 over six innings as he was charged with the loss against the Tigers on Thursday.

Bieber struggled early in his Opening Day start, giving up three runs across the first two frames. He settled down over the rest of his outing, racking up plenty of whiffs, but the Cleveland bats couldn't dig him out of that early hole. The right-hander lines up to make his second start of the year at home against the Royals on Wednesday.
