Teheran threw five innings in relief against the Giants on Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two. He did not factor in the decision.

A day after it was announced that Teheran would be moved to the bullpen, the right-hander was called upon in long relief after starter Jose Suarez failed to get out of the second inning. Ironically, Teheran's outing was not only his longest of the season in terms of innings (five) and pitches (78), it was also longer than any Angels' starter has gone in the last five games. The right-hander wasn't exactly dominant in the performance, but he did succeed in eating up innings to help spell a taxed Los Angeles bullpen. It remains to be seen how Teheran will be used the remainder of the season, but it stands to reason that he could re-enter the rotation at some point given the team's lack of starting pitching depth.

Suarez (0-1) was tagged with the loss Thursday against the Giants. He allowed five runs on five hits and one walk across 1.1 innings, and he didn't strike out anyone.

Suarez had a golden opportunity to stake a claim to a rotation spot following Julio Teheran's move to the bullpen, but he wasn't able to take advantage of the chance and only recorded four outs before being lifted. This wasn't how the 22-year-old lefty envisioned his season debut going. Given his struggles, it remains to be seen whether he will get the chance to make another start anytime soon.

Eovaldi (2-2) earned the win against Baltimore on Thursday, hurling seven innings and allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six.

Eovaldi picked up his first win since Opening Day -- also against the Orioles -- with the dominant performance. The right-hander threw 64 of 97 pitches for strikes while walking less than two batters for the fifth time in six starts. His lone blemish was a solo home run served up to Pat Valaika in the seventh inning. Eovaldi will carry a 4.98 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 33:6 K:BB into his next start, which is scheduled for Wednesday, on the road against the Blue Jays.

Berrios (2-3) earned the win against Milwaukee on Thursday, completing six scoreless innings and allowing one hit and one walk while striking out nine.

Berrios was masterful in the performance, striking out eight of the first 13 batters he faced and holding the Brewers hitless until the fifth inning. The right-hander notched his second quality start of the season while setting his season high in strikeouts (nine). Berrios entered the contest having lost his previous two starts, allowing eight earned runs over 9.1 innings in the pair of performances. He'll try to build upon Thursday's strong outing in a road matchup against Cleveland on Tuesday.

Gibson took a no-decision during Thursday's loss to the Padres, surrendering five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three across five innings.

Making his first career start at Petco Park and first start against the Padres since 2017, Gibson turned in a shaky outing against a volatile lineup. The bulk of his damage came in the fifth inning, when for the fourth night in a row, the Padres cranked a grand slam. This time it was Eric Hosmer who inflicted the damage. Gibson also gave up an RBI single to Wil Myers in the first frame. Across five starts this season, the right-hander owns a 4.73 ERA and 1.54 WHIP. He'll battle Oakland on Tuesday.

Turnbull (2-2) took the loss Thursday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on two hits and four walks in two innings pitched. He did not record a strike out.

Turnbull couldn't find the strike zone once again Thursday, walking four batters for the second start in a row. His three free passes in the first inning contributed to three runs for the White Sox. The right-hander was able to work around another walk and a hit-by-pitch in a scoreless second, but was replaced by Tyler Alexander to start the third. Turnbull will look to work deeper in the game when he takes the ball Monday against the Cubs.

Kikuchi (0-2) took the loss Thursday as the Mariners fell 6-1 to the Dodgers, giving up five runs on four hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

The southpaw looked good through two innings but got rattled in the third after some frankly horrible umpiring cost him a strikeout, leading to a ground-rule double by Matt Beaty that opened the scoring and kick-started a four-run frame for Los Angeles. Kikuchi now has a 6.30 ERA through four starts and 20 innings with a 21:10 K:BB, but if there's a silver lining to his early-season efforts it's that he has yet to allow a home run. He'll look for his first win in his next outing, on the road against the Padres on Aug. 27.

Biber (5-0) picked up the win in Thursday's 2-0 victory over the Pirates after allowing six hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out 11 without walking a batter.

The right-hander remains on a Cy Young trajectory. Bieber has fanned double-digit batters in four of his six starts this year -- joining Cleveland legends Bob Feller and Sam McDowell as the only pitchers in franchise history to begin a season with that kind of strikeout binge -- to fuel a jaw-dropping 65:6 K:BB through 40.2 innings, and his 1.11 ERA leads the American League. He'll next take the mound Tuesday, at home against the Twins.

Giolito (2-2) picked up the win against the Tigers on Thursday, striking out 13 while allowing three hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings.

The right-hander was coming off a rough start in which he allowed four earned runs in five innings against the Cardinals. He bounced back in a huge way Thursday, striking out 13 of the 25 Tigers he faced on the way to his second win of the campaign. The 26-year-old's 45 strikeouts leave him behind just Shane Bieber (54) for the most in the big leagues. Giolito's next start is scheduled to come Tuesday against Pittsburgh.

Javier allowed three earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five across 3.2 innings Thursday against the Rockies. He did not factor into the decision.

Javier allowed nine baserunners in the short outing, but was ultimately burned by two home runs while pitching at Coors Field. He did still flash some deceptiveness, racking up 12 called strikes and nine swinging strikes across 78 pitches. Through five starts, Javier now has a 3.55 ERA with a 26:9 K:BB across 25.1 frames. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, currently projected to come Tuesday against the Angels.
