Keuchel (2-0) picked up the win Friday in a 3-2 victory over the Royals, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

The veteran southpaw was staked to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and kept Kansas City's hitters off-balance long enough to record the win. Keuchel tossed 92 pitches (54 strikes) and while he wasn't dominant, he got the job done. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Brewers.

Cobb didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rays, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out two.

The right-hander got enough run support to pick up the win, as the O's launched three homers on the night, but Cobb couldn't last long enough to qualify -- he needed a whopping 87 pitches (53 strikes) just to record 12 outs. Through two starts to begin the season he has an encouraging 2.89 ERA and 8:3 K:BB over 9.1 innings. Cobb will face a tough challenge in his next outing, however, at home against the Yankees on Wednesday.

Snell didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Orioles, allowing three runs on four hits over three-plus innings. He struck out four.

He appeared to be in complete control for three scoreless frames, but a Renato Nunez double and homers by Anthony Santander and Pedro Severino in the fourth brought Snell's night to an abrupt end. The southpaw threw 53 pitches (37 strikes) as the Rays slowly extend his workload, but barring a big jump in his pitch count, Snell doesn't appear close to being a consistent threat to last the five innings necessary to qualify for a win. His next outing is scheduled for Thursday, at home against the Yankees.

Montgomery (1-0) allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four over 5.2 innings as he earned the win Friday against the Red Sox.

After beginning the season at the alternate training site, Montgomery was sharp in his first start of 2020, allowing his only run in the third inning. The bullpen locked the game down following his departure, which allowed the southpaw to pick up a win. Montgomery's next start should come Wednesday in Baltimore.

Luzardo will start Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Luzardo began the season as a long reliever as he built up his strength, but he'll join the rotation to make his first major-league start Tuesday. As a result, Frankie Montas' start will be pushed up to Monday on normal rest. Luzardo made two relief appearances to begin the season, posting a 1.35 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 6.2 innings.

Montgomery was recalled from the alternate training site Friday ahead of his start against the Red Sox.

Montgomery was in line to make his season debut that got pushed back due to the Marlins' COVID-19 outbreak, but he'll officially join the 30-man roster Friday and start against Boston. The southpaw made two appearances (one start) for the Yankees in 2019, recording a 6.75 ERA and 1.75 WHIP over four innings.

Bubic's contract was selected by the Royals on Friday.

Manager Mike Matheny said Thursday that the team would promote the 22-year-old to their major-league roster, and the Royals made the move official Friday. Bubic led the minors with 185 strikeouts over 149.1 innings last season and will now await a potential major-league debut. While the southpaw has had success at the lower levels of the minors, he may not generate the same results right away while continuing to develop in the majors.

Milone will start Sunday's game against the Rays, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander will make his second start of the season in the series finale versus Tampa Bay. Milone started Opening Day for the Orioles and was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five over three innings.

Snell is slated to work 3-to-4 innings maximum in his start Friday against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The left-hander threw an elevated 46 pitches across just two frames in his first start of the season Sunday, and the Rays will hope for more efficiency in his second turn Friday. Snell averaged 94.9 mph on his fastball in his season debut, which represents a slight downturn from his respective 95.9 and 96.5 season-ending figures the last two campaigns. The slight dip in velocity isn't a concern for Snell, who implies it was partly by design. "I'm going to try to keep within what I've been doing," Snell said. "I'm not going to try to max out velo or get nasty. I'm happy with where I'm at. I feel like it's definitely more than enough. My velo will continue to climb the more that I pitch."

Perez used his changeup more often in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Mets, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Aside from a minor blip in the third inning, Perez mastered the Mets, facing four or fewer batters in the four of the five innings he completed. "Great job from Martin to get us that far," said manager Ron Roenicke. "Really commanded his pitches from the first inning on. That's huge for us, to have him do that." After relying on his cutter during his first start, when the Orioles jumped on Perez for five runs in the first two innings, the left-hander threw 31 changeups (35.2 percent of his pitches) in Thursday's win, generating nine swings-and-misses on the pitch. "I had a good feeling today," Perez said. "As soon as I started throwing it and seeing those guys weren't making adjustments, I just said this is the pitch I have to stay on. I just trusted it."
