Montgomery logged two scoreless innings Tuesday against the Rays, allowing three hits with zero walks and three strikeouts. He did not factor in the decision.

This is likely the final time Montgomery will pitch this season. It was reported days ago that he was unlikely to pitch again after making an appearance Sept. 15 -- his first MLB appearance back from Tommy John surgery -- but then he was surprisingly named the starter for this contest. Montgomery should compete for a rotation spot in spring training.

Chirinos gave up one run on one hit and zero walks over three innings Tuesday against the Yankees. He did not factor in the decision.

Chirinos did not strike out a batter, but he was very efficient, needing just 30 pitches (18 strikes) to get through three frames. We knew Chirinos would be limited to a few innings in this outing after throwing only an inning in his first outing back from a finger injury. Chirinos could be available to pitch this weekend if the Rays are in must-win games, but he is not currently scheduled to start again this season.

Bundy (7-14) allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts across seven innings while earning a victory against the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

He's pitched better than his record indicates, especially lately, as he has a 3.46 ERA in his last seven starts. Bundy's season ERA and WHIP are still above his career norms, but his numbers are better than what they were a year ago. He is 7-14 with a 4.79 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 162 strikeouts in 161.2 innings this season. Unless he appears in relief, those will be his final 2019 numbers.

Turnbull (3-16) took the loss Tuesday against the Twins, as he allowed two runs across six innings. He gave up six hits and two walks while striking out five.

Turnbull pitched quite well and actually left the game with a chance to grab his fourth win of the season, but the Detroit bullpen quickly allowed both inherited runners to score, saddling the righty with his 11th straight loss. At least Turnbull is pitching better lately, as he's allowed just three runs over his last 11 innings to go with 13 strikeouts. He'll have one last chance to impress Sunday against the White Sox before turning his attention to his second full MLB campaign in 2020.

Gibson logged two innings of relief Tuesday against the Tigers and does not appear in line to make another start this season. He gave up one run on four hits and zero walks while striking out four and picking up the hold.

He had lined up to start Wednesday, but after Gibson was used in relief, it was announced that Randy Dobnak would start Wednesday on short rest. Gibson had an 8.02 ERA and 2.08 WHIP in 33.2 innings over his most recent eight appearances, so it makes sense that the Twins would move him to the bullpen at this stage of the season.

Odorizzi left Tuesday's game against the Tigers with a tight left hamstring and is day-to-day, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

He went out for the start of the seventh inning but injured himself warming up and left with the head trainer. Odorizzi gave up one run on two hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings and left in line for the win. He was at 93 pitches so he might have been removed as a precaution. It is unclear if Odorizzi will be able to make his scheduled start on the final day of the season against the Royals.

Montas will start Wednesday's game against the Angels, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

This is the first day he is eligible to return from suspension, and the A's will waste no time handing him the ball. The team wanted to keep him working as a starter given the success he had in the role earlier this year. He is fully stretched out and obviously well rested. Montas is ineligible to pitch in the postseason.

Chirinos is expected to pitch two-to-three innings Tuesday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Chirinos returned from the injured list over the weekend, throwing an inning of relief against the Red Sox in his first appearance since the beginning of August. While he'll be allowed to pitch for longer Tuesday, the Rays will still keep an eye on his pitch count as he slowly builds back up following a lengthy stint on the IL. Brendan McKay will likely pitch multiple innings in relief of Chirinos.

Canning (elbow) was moved to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Canning had already been ruled out for the season due to elbow inflammation. This move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the Angels to claim Kean Wong off waivers.
