Luzardo allowed an earned run on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in Triple-A Las Vegas' win over Reno on Monday. He struck out five.

Luzardo bounced back nicely after getting bounced around for five runs (four earned) over 3.1 innings in his return to action from a lat injury last Thursday. The 21-year-old southpaw worked up to 70 pitches in Tuesday's outing and remains an option for the Athletics when rosters expand in September, if there's room for him to log consistent innings. Luzardo should still have a chance for two more starts in Las Vegas at minimum before the end of August, which would allow him to make more of a case for a promotion.

Snell (elbow) is throwing from approximately 90 feet on flat ground, the Associated Press reports.

The southpaw continues to make seemingly consistent progress from his recent surgery, and his current activity level keeps him on a timetable for a return to the rotation around mid-September. Snell resumed throwing Aug. 11 at a distance of 45-to-60 feet after July 29 surgery to remove bone chips in his elbow. He's likely to progress to bullpen sessions as his next step after he stretches his arm out over at least a couple of more catch sessions.

Keller threw six shutout innings while allowing three hits and two walks along with four strikeouts in a no-decision against the Orioles on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old pitched very well again, but he settled for another very disappointing decision. In his last outing, Keller yielded no runs and zero hits through six innings, but he struggled during the seventh and eventually took a loss. This time around, the Royals turned to the bullpen after six, but Keller's good work still didn't stand up. Despite a respectable 3.94 ERA in his last five starts, he hasn't won an outing since July 24. Overall, Keller is 7-13 with a 3.95 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 121 strikeouts in 164 innings this season. He will pitch next against the Athletics at home on Monday.

Bundy allowed one run on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts across seven innings during a no-decision against the Royals on Tuesday.

The right-hander easily turned in his best start in more than a month, but he settled for a no-decision because of no offense early in the game. Still, owners should be pleased Bundy posted his first outing of the year with one run allowed and at least seven strikeouts. Overall, he is 5-13 with a 5.03 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 129 strikeouts in 127 innings this season. Bundy will pitch again Sunday at home against the Rays.

Bieber (12-6) was handed the loss Tuesday against the Mets after surrendering four runs (two earned) on four hits over six innings. He had seven strikeouts and one walk.

Bieber allowed a pair of two-run homers Tuesday, but he was charged with only two earned runs due to a sixth-inning error in the outfield. It's the 24-year-old's second straight quality start but also his second straight loss, which marks his first losing streak of the season. Bieber will try to get back in the win column Sunday versus the Royals.

German (16-3) was hit with the loss against the Athletics on Tuesday, giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits over 5.1 innings, striking out seven and walking two in a 6-2 defeat for the Yankees.

German didn't have it in this one, as Oakland jumped on him for three runs in the first inning courtesy of home runs from Matt Olson and Mark Canha and would add three more before chasing him from the contest after 99 pitches. German's 4.15 ERA isn't eye-popping, but he's enjoying a fine season, with a majors-leading 16 wins. He's also sporting a 1.14 WHIP and 131:28 K:BB across 121.1 innings. The right-hander will look to bounce back from this outing in his next start, which will see him take on the Dodgers on the road Sunday.

Milone (3-7) allowed four earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four across five innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Rays.

Milone's line isn't particularly impressive, though he got a bit unlucky in his first inning of work as he allowed three consecutive base knocks -- one was an infield single -- to account for two of his earned runs. Other indicators suggest Milone deserved better than his line, as he held the opposition without a homer for just the fourth time in his last 11 outings and issued just one free pass. Milone has settled into a role working as a primary pitcher, generally entering the game in the second inning and working four-to-five innings per appearances. For the season, he owns a 4.84 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 75 strikeouts across 83.2 innings. He should slot in to work as the primary pitcher again Monday against the Yankees.

Turnbull (3-12) allowed five runs on six hits over three innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Astros. He walked three and struck out three.

Pitching against a tough Houston lineup at Minute Maid Park is no easy feat, and Turnbull struggled from the start, allowing five runs in the first two innings. The righty has slowed down a bit over his last 10 appearances, posting a 5.73 ERA across 44 innings as his season ERA has climbed to 4.05. Turnbull faces another tall task in his next outing, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Twins on the road.

Severino (lat) is scheduled to face hitters Thursday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Severino threw against three batters Sunday -- supplemented with a 25-pitch bullpen session -- and also had a short side session Tuesday. The 25-year-old has yet to pitch this season after suffering a right lat strain during spring training, but he's hoping to make a return to the Yankees in September.

Heaney (3-3) earned the win Tuesday after holding the Rangers to one run on four hits while striking out 14 over eight innings in the first game of a doubleheader.

Making his third start since coming off the injured list, Heaney turned in an outstanding performance against the Rangers. Except for a sixth-inning Willie Calhoun solo homer, the southpaw was in control throughout, throwing 20 of 28 first-pitch strikes leading to 14 strikeouts on 108 pitches. Through 12 appearances, Heaney holds a 4.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 78:20 K:BB. The 28-year-old will look to continue his recent form in his next start, on the road in Houston on Sunday.
