  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

Astros' Gerrit Cole: Earns seventh win

Cole (7-5) allowed one earned run on seven hits and two walks while striking out three across six innings to earn the win Tuesday against Pittsburgh.

Cole ran into little trouble until the sixth inning, when he allowed three consecutive batters to reach base with two outs prior to inducing a groundout to strand the bases loaded. Though still effective, Cole generated only three strikeouts, his lowest total of the season. He'll bring a strong 3.42 ERA and superb 1.05 WHIP into his next start, currently scheduled for Sunday against Seattle.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Fails to last five frames

Bassitt yielded three runs on four hits with four walks and two strikeouts across 3.1 innings during a no-decision against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

If he had been able to go five innings, Bassitt likely would have won his second straight start because the Athletics held a sizable lead at that point, but instead, he needed 94 pitches to record just 10 outs. Walks have been a real issue for Bassitt lately, as he has handed out 11 free passes in his last 14.2 innings. He is 4-3 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 65 strikeouts and 31 walks in 67.2 innings this season. Bassitt will pitch next at the Angels on Sunday.

  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Rays' Blake Snell: Struggles to get through four

Snell (4-7) allowed seven runs on 11 hits with one walk and four strikeouts across 3.1 innings while taking a loss against the Twins on Tuesday.

Well, at least he made it out of the first inning, which he didn't do in his last outing. Still, Snell has really struggled in his last two appearances, yielding 13 runs in 3.2 innings. Over his last three starts, his ERA has jumped more than 1.5 runs. Snell now sits with a 5.01 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 105 strikeouts in 79 innings this season. He will look to get on track Sunday against the Rangers.

  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Twins' Kyle Gibson: Yields four runs in win

Gibson (8-4) allowed four runs on seven hits with one walk and seven strikeouts across seven innings to earn a victory against the Rays on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old has been very hot and cold lately, but consider this one a rare start where he didn't pitch well and won. This marked the first time this season Gibson has allowed more than three runs and captured a victory. Interestingly, he earned three no-decisions in his first three outings this year, and since then, he's gone 8-4 and posted a decision in every appearance. In addition to his record, Gibson owns a 4.26 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 87 strikeouts in 86.2 innings this season. He will pitch next at the White Sox on Sunday.

  • Shane Bieber SP | TOR

Indians' Shane Bieber: Solid in no-decision

Bieber didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 8-6 loss to the Royals, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings while striking out six.

The right-hander threw 63 strikes in 100 pitches before exiting with the score tied 3-3, as he struck out more than a batter an inning for the third straight start. Bieber will carry a 3.83 ERA and 122:23 K:BB through 96.1 frames into his next outing, a rematch with the Royals in Kansas City on July 2.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: Could begin throwing after MRI

Kluber (forearm) will undergo an MRI within the next few days to determine if he can start his throwing program, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Kluber has been sidelined since the start of May with a non-displaced fracture of his right forearm and has yet to be cleared for throwing. The 33-year-old still has no clear timetable for his return, but the start of a throwing program would represent a major step in his recovery process.

  • Domingo German SP | PIT

Yankees' Domingo German: Will make rehab start Thursday

German (hip) will make a rehab start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

It will be the first rehab appearance for German, who has been on the 10-day injured list since June 9 with a hip injury. Assuming he comes through without any setbacks, the right-hander will be on track to rejoin the Yankees after they return from their London series with the Red Sox, which takes place June 29-30. He was having a great season before landing on the IL, with a 3.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 77:19 K:BB through 70 innings.

  • Astros' Forrest Whitley: Nearing mound work

Whitley (shoulder) is expected to resume mound work within the next couple weeks, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Whitley was placed on the minor-league injured list in late May with right shoulder fatigue and has been rehabbing at the Astros' spring training facility in Florida. The 21-year-old is expected to return to minor-league games around the third week of July, assuming he avoids any setbacks.

  • John Means SP | KC

Orioles' John Means: On track for weekend activation

Means (shoulder) is throwing a bullpen session Tuesday and remains on track to come off the injured list and start this weekend against Cleveland, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

He will be eligible to be activated to start any of the three weekend games against the Indians, but it is unclear which game will be his. Among all Orioles pitchers with at least 20 innings, Means is the leader in ERA (2.67), WHIP (1.15) and fWAR (1.5). His 20.3 percent strikeout rate is below average for a starting pitcher in today's game, so it's possible some serious regression will be in store over the rest of the season.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi: Shifts to 60-day injured list

Eovaldi (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the Red Sox to reinstate Steven Wright from his suspension. It has no effect on Eovaldi's return timeline, as he's already been out for over 60 days. He's still working his way cautiously through his rehab program, with no clear target date for his return.
