  • Brad Keller RP | PHI

Royals' Brad Keller: Walks five in loss

Keller (2-5) was charged with the loss to the Angels on Friday, surrendering four runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out three over 5.2 innings.

It turned into quite the sloppy outing for Keller, who continues to struggle with command issues. The right-hander has allowed a league-high 37 walks. Up next, he'll look to improve upon a 4.66 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 42:37 K:BB in an unfavorable matchup against the Yankees.

  • Marco Gonzales RP | TEX

Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Loses second straight start

Gonzales (5-3) took the loss in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Twins, allowing six runs -- five earned -- on eight hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out three batters.

Gonzales did not have his best stuff Friday, as he allowed 10 baserunners for the third time in 11 starts this year. The left-hander's ERA rose to 3.65 in the loss, and he also has a 1.35 WHIP with 45 strikeouts in 61.2 innings this season. Gonzales is scheduled to face the Rangers on Wednesday.

  • Martin Perez SP | ATL

    Twins' Martin Perez: Overpowers Mariners

Perez (6-1) picked up the win Friday, tossing 6.2 innings of one-run ball. He allowed five hits and four walks and struck out seven in the 7-1 victory.

The gem lowered Perez's ratios to a 2.89 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 53 innings in 10 appearances (seven starts) this season, his first with the Twins. Perez has won five of his last six decisions. The 28-year-old left-hander will take on the Angels in his next scheduled start Wednesday.

  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

Astros' Gerrit Cole: Pitches five shutout frames

Cole allowed no runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and one walk across five innings during a no-decision against the Red Sox on Friday.

Unfortunately, the Astros didn't support Cole with any runs, and he couldn't pitch past the fifth because he had already thrown 99 pitches. This breaks a streak of three straight wins for Cole, but clearly, he's firmly back on track after yielding nine runs against the Rangers on April 20. In the last five starts since then, Cole owns a 2.01 ERA. Overall, he is 4-4 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 93 strikeouts in 60.2 innings this season. He will look for his fifth win during his next start against the White Sox on Wednesday.

  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Yields zero earned runs

Bundy (2-5) allowed one unearned run on three hits with seven strikeouts and three walks across 5.2 innings to earn a victory against the Indians on Friday.

The 26-year-old threw a season-high 118 pitches, but he still couldn't make it through six innings. However, that was enough, as Bundy didn't give up an earned run for the second time in three starts. He is 2-5 with a 4.66 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 46.1 innings this season. Bundy is scheduled to face the Yankees next at home Wednesday.

  • Yonny Chirinos SP | MIA

Rays' Yonny Chirinos: Strong outing as bulk reliever

Chirinos allowed four hits and struck out two over 4.2 scoreless innings Friday night against the Yankees.

Chirinos did his part after Ryne Stanek tossed the first two frames, as he nearly blanked the Yankees for five innings. The 25-year-old right-hander has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his past six appearances, good enough for a 3.26 ERA with a 33:8 K:BB across 47 frames.

  • Frankie Montas RP | NYM

Athletics' Frankie Montas: Just misses first complete game

Montas (5-2) picked up the win in Friday's 7-2 victory over the Tigers, allowing two runs on four hits over 8.2 innings while striking out a career-high 10.

The right-hander was closing in on his first career complete game, but Miguel Cabrera's second double of the night brought home a run in the ninth and sent Montas to the showers after 109 pitches (73 strikes). He'll take a 2.67 ERA and outstanding 52:11 K:BB through 54 innings into his next outing Wednesday in Cleveland.

  • Andrew Heaney RP | LAD

Angels' Andrew Heaney: Taking rehab to Triple-A

Heaney (elbow) will make his next rehab start at Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Heaney hurled four innings in his last rehab outing in an extended spring game and checked out OK, so he'll head to Triple-A. He's slated to make two starts for the Bees before being activated from the injured list.

  • James Paxton SP | BOS

Yankees' James Paxton: Could return next week

Paxton (knee) threw a successful bullpen session Friday and could be on track to return at some point during the Yankees' upcoming road trip, which begins Monday, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.

Paxton has missed two weeks with left knee inflammation, but his absence doesn't look likely to stretch much longer. It's not yet clear exactly when the Yankees expect him back.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi: Set for bullpen session

Eovaldi (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Eovaldi has been throwing off flat ground over the past week as he makes his way back from late-April elbow surgery. He's expected back in early or mid-June provided he keeps making steady progress.
