Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Spins gem in Seattle
Carrasco (2-2) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings while striking out 12 as Cleveland downed Seattle 1-0.
Afternoon shadows didn't help the batters for either team -- there were only six total hits in the game -- and Carrasco took full advantage, racking up a whopping 23 swinging strikes among his 108 pitches (72 total strikes). Even after the stellar outing the right-hander still carries a 7.41 ERA, but his 29:5 K:BB through 17 innings offers a much more encouraging prognosis on his performance so far. Carrasco could be lined up for another impressive start Tuesday, when he takes on the Marlins at home.

Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Twins' Jake Odorizzi: Gets first win
Odorizzi (1-2) gave up one run on six hits with one walk while striking out six through 5.2 innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
A more efficient outing may have given Odorizzi the quality start, but he turned in a fine performance nonetheless while only allowing one run in a win against the Blue Jays. The 29-year-old forced 14 swinging strikes with 11 coming on his fastball. The right-hander has a 1-2 record and 4.76 ERA through four starts this season. Odorizzi will get his next start Monday at Houston.

Lance Lynn SP | STL
Rangers' Lance Lynn: Gets the win
Lynn (2-1) gave up two runs on seven hits with three walks while striking out two through 5.2 innings in a win over the Angels on Wednesday.
Lynn only forced six swinging-strikes, but he was effective enough to hold the Angels to two runs Wednesday. After giving up seven runs in his first start, the 31-year-old has delivered three solid performances. The right-hander has a 2-1 record and a 4.44 ERA through four starts this season. Lynn will make his next start Tuesday in Oakland.

Spencer Turnbull RP | TOR
Tigers' Spencer Turnbull: Pitches well in no-decision
Turnbull allowed just one unearned run over six innings and did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Pirates. He gave up two hits and two walks, while striking out five.
Turnbull turned in his best outing of the season and his second quality start in four turns through the rotation. The 26-year-old righty now has a solid 3.43 ERA, and with the news that Matt Moore (knee) will be out for the rest of the season, Turnbull should have no problem holding onto a starting gig on a thin Detroit staff. He lines up to take the mound again Monday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Brad Keller RP | PHI
Royals' Brad Keller: Ejection ends start early
Keller allowed two runs on four hits and four walks over five innings before he was ejected Wednesday against the White Sox. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.
Keller's afternoon ended one pitch into the sixth inning after he hit plunked Tim Anderson, who coincidentally hit a two-run homer off him earlier in the game. The right-hander was likely nearing his exit regardless as he finished with 91 pitches, only 50 of which were strikes. The 23-year-old next lines up to start Monday at Tampa Bay, though it's possible he could face discipline from the league if they deem the hit by pitch to be intentional.

Chris Bassitt SP | BAL
Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Summoned to majors
Bassitt was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Bassitt will join the big club in place of Marco Estrada, who was sent to the injured list with a lumbar strain. According to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle, Bassit will tentatively slot into Estrada's place in the rotation, though that could change if he's needed out of the bullpen. He's made three minor-league appearances this season while working back from a lower-leg injury, posting a 3.27 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 16:2 K:BB in 11 innings during those outings. Bassitt worked as both a starter and reliever for the A's last season, notching a 3.02 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 7.7 K/9 in 47.2 innings.

Yusei Kikuchi SP | LAA
Mariners' Yusei Kikuchi: Will make normal start Saturday
Kikuchi will make a normal start Saturday against the Angels, but will have his first "short" start in one of the two starts after that, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
The Mariners announced before the start of the year that they were going to limit Kikuchi to one inning pitched in several starts this year to help ease the transition to the more rigorous MLB schedule. The first one of those starts should occur sometime in the next two weeks, either against the Rangers on April 26 or against the Cubs on May 1.

Blake Snell SP | LAD
Rays' Blake Snell: Plays catch Wednesday
Snell (toe) played catch from 90 feet Wednesday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
Snell landed on the injured list earlier in the week with a fractured right toe. The southpaw is only expected to miss one start, a notion supported by the fact that he's already resumed throwing. Snell is eligible to return April 24.

Christian Bergman SP | SEA
Mariners' Christian Bergman: Returns to Seattle organization
Bergman agreed to a minor-league contract Wednesday with the Mariners and will report to Triple-A Tacoma, Tacoma radio broadcaster Mike Curto reports.
Bergman failed to win an Opening Day roster spot with the Cubs coming out of spring training and was granted his release in March. After taking some time to assess his options, Bergman will return to the organization where he spent the past two seasons. The right-hander logged three appearances with the big club in 2018 but saw the overwhelming share of his action at Tacoma, where he compiled a 5.08 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 141.2 innings.

Lucas Giolito SP | SD
White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Lifted with hamstring tightness
Giolito was removed from Wednesday's game against the Royals due to left hamstring tightness.
Giolito suffered the injury during the third inning Wednesday and was ultimately removed after talking with a trainer and firing a few test pitches. The right-hander will likely be further evaluated in the coming days, but the fact that the White Sox are listing him as day-to-day suggests he may not be forced to miss his next turn through the rotation. Giolito was locked in prior to exiting, racking up five strikeouts through 2.2 hitless innings.
