Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX
Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi: Picks up win in Boston debut
Eovaldi (4-4) tossed seven shutout innings while allowing four hits and striking out five as he secured the victory Sunday against the Twins.
Eovaldi looked sharp in his first start since being dealt to the Red Sox, as he was lifted following seven strong innings with a 3-0 lead. He's been crisp over his past two outings, surrendering just one run through 13 innings while fanning 13. In 11 appearances this season, the 28-year-old owns a 3.80 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with 58 strikeouts across 64 frames.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Twins' Jose Berrios: Tagged with eighth loss
Berrios (10-8) allowed three runs on nine hits and three walks while fanning six across 4.2 innings Sunday as he was saddled with the loss against the Red Sox.
Berrios didn't make it out of the fourth inning, leaving the game with 106 pitches after surrendering an RBI single that pushed Boston's lead to three. The 24-year-old right-hander failed to receive any run support from his club. Berrios owns a decent 3.56 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 142 strikeouts over 139 innings heading into his next start, presumably Saturday against the Royals.

Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Gives up two runs in no-decision
Rodon fired 7.2 innings Sunday, yielding two runs on five hits and a walk while taking the no-decision in the 7-4 loss to Toronto. He struck out six and allowed a home run.
Another strong outing for Rodon, who lowered his season ERA from 4.55 to 3.24 in July. Aside from Aledmys Diaz's solo homer in the fifth inning, the 25-year-old lefty held the Blue Jays in check for most of the afternoon. Rodon also improved to a 49:21 K:BB after Sunday's contest. He'll get another decent matchup in Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Lance McCullers SP | MIL
Astros' Lance McCullers: Fans 11 in loss
McCullers (10-6) took the loss Sunday, yielding four runs (three earned) on six hits while striking out 11 across 5.1 innings in the 4-3 loss to Texas.
July was not kind to McCullers, going 1-3 and raising his ERA from 3.55 to 4.06 in four starts this month. He's taken a loss in three straight outing, allowing 15 runs (14 earned) in just 13.2 frames during that span. On the bright side, Sunday was McCullers' fourth double-digit strikeout performance of the year. He'll try to break his losing streak in Saturday's road showdown against the Dodgers.

Blake Snell SP | LAD
Rays' Blake Snell: May not return until next weekend
Snell (shoulder) appears unlikely to return from the 10-day disabled list until the Rays' series next weekend against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Rays manager Kevin Cash relayed that Snell felt fine after completing a bullpen session Sunday, but the team apparently wants to see the All-Star complete one more mound workout before gearing up for starting duty. Expect Snell to take the next day or two to rest before throwing again Tuesday or Wednesday, after which the Rays should provide more clarity regarding when he'll be reinstated from the 10-day disabled list.

Lucas Giolito SP | SD
White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Early exit in no-decision
Giolito didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Blue Jays, surrendering five runs on nine hits and a walk over 4.1 innings while striking out three.
It was a lackluster performance to say the least from Giolito, who needed 94 pitches (62 strikes) to record 13 outs and was on the hook for his ninth loss of the year before a late rally by the White Sox. The right-hander will carry a 6.26 ERA into his next start Friday in Tampa Bay.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Astros' Justin Verlander: Fans seven in tough loss
Verlander (10-6) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings while striking out seven as the Astros fell 7-3 to the Rangers.
Both runs scored on solo shots by Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Rougned Odor, but with the Astros offense being uncharacteristically flat, that was enough to cost Verlander the win. The right-hander has now lost four of his last five decisions, but he'll still take an exceptional 2.24 ERA into his next start Friday on the road against the Dodgers.

Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Twins' Jake Odorizzi: Hit hard by Red Sox
Odorizzi (4-7) took the loss Saturday, coughing up five runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings while striking out five as the Twins were routed 10-4 by the Red Sox.
The right-hander was actually staked to an early 4-1 lead before Boston's offense got to work. Odorizzi threw 65 of 101 pitches for strikes but gave up plenty of hard contact, including J.D. Martinez's MLB-leading 32nd homer. Odorizzi will carry a 4.58 ERA into his next start Friday at home against the Royals.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Notches fifth win
Gausman (5-8) gave up two runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five in seven innings in a win over the Rays on Saturday.
Run support has been hard to come by for O's pitching this year, but the Orioles tagged the Rays for 11 runs in this one, which was obviously more than enough for Gausman to cruise to his fifth win. He had been the subject of trade rumors earlier in the week, but those talks seem to have slowed, so it's possible that his next start will come for the Orioles in Texas on Friday.

Blake Snell SP | LAD
Rays' Blake Snell: Plays catch Saturday
Snell (shoulder) played catch Saturday as a precursor to a Sunday bullpen session and remains very encouraged with his progress, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports. "It all depends on the bullpen and what they want to do, but I feel good, " Snell said. "Happy with everything right now. The ball's coming out good. All my pitches are working."
The left-hander's potential return likely hinges on how he feels during and after Sunday's bullpen, but he already reports that the extra rest he's gotten during his stint on the disabled list has been helpful. Manager Kevin Cash remains noncommittal about a potential return date for Snell, but he'll likely take a much firmer stance one way or the other after Sunday's session.
