  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Next start delayed until at least Sunday

Bundy isn't expected to make his next start until Sunday against the Rays or Tuesday against the Yankees, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Bundy threw 30 pitches and served up five runs Wednesday against the Red Sox, but those numbers were wiped out from his season log when the contest was postponed after two innings following a two-hour, 33-minute rain delay. Because of the workload he handled, Bundy will be given at least the next three days off to recover, as the Orioles plan to start Alex Cobb, Andrew Cashner and Kevin Gausman to start the first three games of the series against the Rays. Yefry Ramirez is available to start Sunday on his normal rest, but the Orioles have yet to commit to using the rookie that day.

  • Dylan Cease SP | TOR

White Sox's Dylan Cease: Dominant in Wednesday's win

Cease retired the first 20 batters faced before allowing a hit in the seventh inning for Double-A Birmingham on Wednesday. He allowed the one hit and a walk while striking out 12 over seven innings.

Cease has handled his promotion to Double-A with aplomb, posting a 2.83 ERA while limiting opponents to a .188 batting average over his first five starts at the advanced level.

  • Martin Perez SP | ATL

Rangers' Martin Perez: Quality start in no-decision

Perez allowed one run on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings in Wednesday's loss to the Athletics. He did not factor into the decision.

Perez allowed seven hits -- including a pair of doubles -- but he was mostly able to silence the Oakland bats and left the game in line for his first win since April before seeing the bullpen implode late. The lefty's 7.08 ERA and 2.02 WHIP are unsightly, but he's now earned a quality start in two of his last three outings, going 13 innings with just two runs allowed in those two starts. Next on tap is Monday's interleague battle in Arizona.

  • Charlie Morton SP | ATL

Astros' Charlie Morton: Allows just one in no-decision

Morton did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's loss, allowing one run on four hits and four walks while striking out five over six innings against the Rockies.

Morton allowed a solo shot in the second inning and struggled some with command in this one. He threw only 58 of 102 pitches for strikes en route to issuing four free passes and hitting a batter, but still left in line for the win when he turned it over to the bullpen. The 34-year-old now owns a sterling 2.89 ERA and 11.5 K/9 and will take on the Mariners on Tuesday next time out.

  • Matthew Boyd SP | CHC

Tigers' Matt Boyd: Beats Royals for fifth win

Boyd (5-9) allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out seven over six innings in a win over the Royals on Wednesday. He did not walk a batter.

Five of the seven hits against Boyd were singles (one bunt single), and he induced 14 swinging strikes on 95 pitches. He struggled mightily going into the break, posting a 9.78 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in his final five starts of the first half, but the extra rest seems to have done Boyd well (three runs, 13:2 K:BB over 11 innings since play resumed). The 27-year-old is still far from trustworthy, but he's trending in the right direction. Up next: a home start against the Reds.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi: Set for Boston debut Sunday

Eovaldi will take the hill against Minnesota on Sunday, Sean McAdam of the BostonSportsJournal.com reports.

Eovaldi will make his first start with his new team on eight days of rest after pitching against Detroit on Friday. The right-hander was traded to Boston on Wednesday morning in exchange for Jalen Beeks. Across 10 starts with the Rays this year, Eovaldi has posted a 4.26 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 53 strikeouts in 57 innings. His addition to the rotation will force Brian Johnson to the bullpen following his start Thursday.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi: Headed to Boston

Eovaldi was traded from the Rays to the Red Sox on Wednesday in exchange for Jalen Beeks, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Eovaldi won't make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Yankees, as the deal has been made official. The 28-year-old right-hander figures to bolster a Boston starting rotation that's a bit banged up, as Eduardo Rodriguez (ankle) and Steven Wright (knee) are both on the disabled list. Eovaldi has made 10 starts for Tampa Bay in 2018, posting a 4.26 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with a 53:11 K:BB over 57 innings. He underwent Tommy John surgery in August of 2016, forcing him to miss the entire 2017 campaign.

  • Vidal Nuno SP | WAS

Rays' Vidal Nuno: Slated to throw BP

Nuno (hamstring) will toss live batting practice Saturday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Nuno has been on the shelf with a right hamstring strain for nearly all of July. If all goes well during his next throwing session, he'll progress to a rehab game Tuesday in the minor leagues.

  • Shane Bieber SP | TOR

Indians' Shane Bieber: Hit hard in loss to Pirates

Bieber (5-2) allowed seven runs on seven hits with no walks across 1.2 innings while taking the loss Tuesday against the Pirates. He struck out two.

Bieber allowed a barrage of extra-base hits in this one, including a two-run home run in the first inning before a two-run triple and another homer accounted for four more runs in the second. It was a disappointing start to say the least, as the rookie's ERA for the season jumped more than a full run to an uninspiring 4.80. Still, he hadn't allowed more than four earned runs in any one start this season and had delivered quality starts in three of his previous five. Bieber will look to get back on track in his next scheduled start against the Twins.

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Fans eight in win

Rodon (3-3) got the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out eight over 7.2 innings against the Angels.

Rodon was in top form Tuesday, going 5.2 no-hit innings and taking a one-hit shutout into the eighth. The only damage on his ledger was done in his final frame, as he allowed two baserunners on a double and a walk and saw both runs come around to score against the bullpen, but it was still a terrific outing for the lefty. Following a rocky June, Rodon has worked to a 1.71 ERA with 21 strikeouts over 21 innings in three starts in July. Next up is a home date Sunday against the Blue Jays.
