Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX
Rays' Nathan Eovaldi: Eyeing May 24 return
Eovaldi (elbow) is targeting May 24 for his return from the 10-day disabled list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
After tossing 17 pitches in his first rehab outing for High-A Charlotte on May 4, Eovaldi will return to the mound for the club Wednesday and is expected to bump up his pitch count. It will mark the second of four planned rehab outings for Eovaldi, who will likely make his final two starts at Triple-A Durham before filling the final vacancy in the Rays' four-man rotation. The Rays have reportedly been encouraged by Eovaldi's velocity during bullpen sessions and his first rehab start, so it would seem that he has recovered as anticipated after undergoing surgery March 30 to remove cartilage pieces from his right elbow.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Slated to start Thursday
Rodriguez was moved up a day in the Red Sox's pitching schedule and will make his next start Thursday against the Yankees in New York rather than Friday in Toronto, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
David Price was initially scheduled to pitch in the three-game series with the Yankees, but he was pushed back after developing numbness in his throwing hand that was later diagnosed as a mild case of Carpal tunnel syndrome. Price will throw a bullpen session Thursday and is hopeful to start in Toronto over the weekend, but the unexpected setback will nonetheless result in Rodriguez trading a tough matchup at Rogers Centre for an even more difficult one at Yankee Stadium. Heading into play Wednesday, the Yankees owned a 126 team wRC+ at home to lead the majors by a sizable margin.

Parker Bridwell SP | LAA
Angels' Parker Bridwell: Nearing return to pitching
Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Wednesday that Bridwell (elbow) is nearing a return to game action for Triple-A Salt Lake, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Bridwell hasn't pitched for the affiliate since April 16 while batting right elbow inflammation. The 26-year-old previously made a spot start for the big club earlier this season, but there aren't expected to be any openings in the Angels' rotation by the time Bridwell is deemed ready pitch again, as Nick Tropeano (shoulder) should be back from the 10-day disabled list by the weekend.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Astros' Justin Verlander: Will pitch Friday against Rangers
Verlander will take the mound against Texas on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Verlander will remain on regular rest as manager A.J. Hinch decided to push Charlie Morton back another day, as the latter will now toe the rubber Saturday. During his latest outing against Arizona on Sunday, Verlander allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out eight over six innings, and picked up his first loss of the season. Through eight starts in 2018, he's posted a 1.17 ERA and 0.71 WHIP with a 70:11 K:BB in 53.2 innings.

Blake Snell SP | LAD
Rays' Blake Snell: Suffers tough-luck loss versus Braves
Snell (4-2) allowed one run on four hits and two walks across 6.1 innings while taking the loss Tuesday against the Braves. He struck out five.
Snell threw first-pitch strikes to 16 of 25 batters and induced 13 swinging strikes as he kept the Atlanta lineup off balance for most of the night. His only real mistake came on a solo home run from Ronald Acuna in the third inning. Due to a lack of run support, he suffered his first loss since April 4. The left-hander has been outstanding over his last six starts, allowing two runs or fewer in each while posting a 43:9 K:BB during that span. He'll take a 2.40 ERA into Sunday's scheduled start against Baltimore.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Takes loss despite quality start
Kluber (5-2) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk across six innings while taking the loss Tuesday against the Brewers. He struck out four.
Kluber's only real mistakes cost him in this one, including a two-run home run from Travis Shaw in the first inning and a solo shot from opposing pitcher Brent Suter in the third. Unfortunately, despite his eighth straight quality start to begin the season, Kluber lost for the first time since Opening Day due to a lack of run support. He hasn't been quite as dominant of late, allowing exactly three earned runs in four straight outings and striking out more than six batters just once in that span. Still, he'll take a tidy 2.62 ERA into his next scheduled start Monday against Detroit.

Lucas Giolito SP | SD
White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Blows early lead in no-decision
Giolito allowed four runs on seven hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out three over four innings in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to the Pirates.
Giolito's mates staked him to a 4-0 lead after one inning, but he gave it all back in the second. It could have been worse, but the Pirates ran into the final out of a four-run second inning. Giolito eventually departed with a lead after needing 98 pitches to record his 12 outs. The word "erratic" comes to mind when looking at his game log, which is dotted with a four quality and near-quality starts among his seven outings, but the young right-hander left Tuesday's game with a 7.25 ERA. He leads the AL with 25 walks and six hit batsmen. Giolito next takes the ball Sunday on the road against the Cubs.

Lance McCullers SP | MIL
Astros' Lance McCullers: Earns fifth win Tuesday
McCullers (5-1) allowed two runs on five hits in a win over the A's on Tuesday, striking out three and walking four in five innings.
McCullers threw 89 pitches (52 for strikes) on the evening, the fewest pitches he's thrown this season. Over his last five starts, McCullers has allowed a combined seven runs on 21 hits across 32 innings, striking out 29 in that span. The right-hander's 52 strikeouts are good for ninth in the American League. His next start will be a matchup with the Angels in Los Angeles.

Dylan Bundy SP | NYM
Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Pitiful performance Tuesday
Bundy (1-5) earned the loss Tuesday by allowing seven runs on five hits and two walks while not recording an out in the 15-7 loss to Kansas City.
Bundy put forth one of the worst performances by a pitcher in recent memory, allowing four home runs over seven batters without recording an out. The 25-year-old has collapsed over his last three outings, having allowed 22 runs (19 earned) on 23 hits (nine home runs) across nine innings. Bundy started the season with a fantastic 1.42 ERA and 1.11 WHIP across 31.2 innings -- with 40 strikeouts and only one home run allowed -- but has recently looked like a completely different pitcher.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Strikes out 11 in no-decision
Severino (5-1) racked up 11 strikeouts in Tuesday's no-decision, allowing two earned runs on six hits and no walks over six innings against the Red Sox.
Severino came out for the top of the seventh and gave up a leadoff single to Eduardo Nunez before being pulled. Nunez then stole second base and scored the tying run on Mookie Betts' two-out triple. The 24-year-old continued his stellar start to the season and now has a 2.21 ERA and 0.87 WHIP with 63 strikeouts and 12 walks over 53 innings. The right-hander is next slated to start Sunday at home against the Athletics.
