Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Activated for Wednesday start
Odorizzi (back) was activated from the 10-day disabled list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Red Sox.
He'll indirectly assume the rotation spot for Alex Cobb, who was moved to the 10-day disabled list earlier this week due to a case of turf toe. Odorizzi only missed two starts due to the back issue and came out of his Aug. 4 rehab start at High-A Charlotte without issue, so he shouldn't face any restrictions in his return to the mound. However, those who own the right-hander in shallower formats may want to steer clear of activating him right away, given the difficult matchup he'll have on tap Wednesday.

Adalberto Mejia SP | MIN
Twins' Adalberto Mejia: Recovering from biceps strain
Mejia has been diagnosed with a left biceps strain, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Mejia, who was placed on the 10-day DL with the injury Tuesday, lasted just three innings in his last outing before exiting in the fourth frame. It's still unclear as to the severity and expected recovery time required for the injury, though the team will likely update his status as the week goes on. Dillon Gee is a likely candidate to replace Mejia in the starting rotation.

Triston McKenzie SP | SD
Indians' Triston McKenzie: Roughed up in last two starts at High-A
McKenzie, 20, has allowed 13 earned runs over his past two outings for High-A Lynchburg.
This is really the first bad stretch of the entire season for McKenzie, whose ERA still sits at a respectable 3.64. He has a 142:41 K:BB in 113.2 innings, and opposing batters are hitting a putrid .196 against him. Despite back-to-back poor outings, McKenzie's prospect star still burns brightly.

Michael Kopech SP | LAD
White Sox's Michael Kopech: Racking up strikeouts at Double-A
Kopech, 21, has a 39:3 K:BB over his last 28 innings for Double-A Birmingham.
During that time period, a span of four starts, Kopech has allowed just two earned runs. He leads the Southern League in strikeouts, and his control has been vastly improved of late. Kopech is making a push to be considered the top pitching prospect in baseball heading into the 2018 campaign.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: May rejoin rotation
Montgomery may be called back up to the majors sooner than expected if CC Sabathia (knee) requires a DL stint, George A. King of the New York Post reports.
Montgomery was sent down to the minors Sunday following the team's deadline acquisitions of starters Sonny Gray and Jaime Garcia, but the club could potentially have an opening in the rotation again if Sabathia is forced to miss any time. Manager Joe Girardi had previously indicated Montgomery would be on an innings limit and the 24-year-old has already tossed 115.2 innings in the majors this year, so nothing is official just yet.

Parker Bridwell SP | LAA
Angels' Parker Bridwell: Stifles Orioles for sixth win
Bridwell improved to 6-1 with seven innings of one-run ball against the Orioles on Tuesday. He struck out four without a walk while allowing six hits.
After scuffling against the Phillies his last time out, Bridwell got right back on the horse with a sharp outing against a powerful Baltimore lineup. However, he can only get by with smoke and mirrors for so long -- that 5.7 K/9, 82.6 percent strand rate and 4.72 FIP indicate massive potential for regression in his 3.00 ERA. Bridwell will make his next start Sunday in Seattle.

Adalberto Mejia SP | MIN
Twins' Adalberto Mejia: Hits DL with arm injury
Mejia was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with an upper-arm injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
The exact diagnosis of Mejia's injury has not yet been announced, though it's being said that the injury occurred in the biceps/triceps region on his left arm. It's unclear how much time the 24-year-old will be forced to miss, but Dillon Gee is the most likely candidate to step into the rotation in the meantime.

Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL
Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Shelled by White Sox on Tuesday
Keuchel (9-2) allowed eight runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out two over four innings during Tuesday's loss to the White Sox.
Keuchel entered Tuesday's game against the rebuilding White Sox with a 2.15 ERA, but exited four innings later with a 2.87 ERA in what was easily his worst start in years. The lefty gave up four hits in the first inning and four more in the third before being yanked from the game with eight earned runs to his name. Keuchel has now allowed 14 earned runs in his last three starts (12 innings) since returning from the disabled list on July 28. He'll look to right the ship when he takes on the Rangers in Arlington on Sunday.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matt Boyd: Rocked for six runs in loss to Pirates
Boyd (5-6) allowed six runs (five earned) on nine hits and one walk across four innings in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates. He struck out five.
Boyd threw a hearty 70 percent of his pitches for strikes, but he routinely missed over the plate and paid the price on several occasions. He gave up a run in the third before he was tagged for three in the fourth and two more in the fifth, albeit with an error involved. Boyd appeared to be making strides when he fired off three straight quality starts at the end of July, but he has now allowed nine runs in 8.1 innings over his last two starts. He will try to get back on track Sunday against the Twins.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Strikes out 11 in complete-game win
Kluber (10-3) notched a complete-game victory Tuesday, allowing just one run on three hits and no walks while striking out 11 Rockies.
The Tribe's ace continued his run of absolute dominance with Tuesday's effort, his 13th straight start with eight-plus punch outs. Despite missing a month of action due to a back injury, Kluber ranks fourth in MLB with 172 strikeouts over his 132.2 innings. Since returning from the DL, the 31-year-old is 7-1 with a 1.70 ERA in 13 starts. Kluber is as dominant right now as he was in 2014 when he won the AL Cy Young. Next up on the right-hander's agenda is a date in Tampa Bay on Sunday afternoon.
