  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Set for rehab start Friday

Rodon (biceps) will make another rehab start Friday for Triple-A Durham.

This could be Rodon's final tuneup before being activated off the disabled list to make his season debut for the White Sox. Although Rodon has not pitched particularly well through his first three rehab outings, sporting a 5.40 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP, he did manage to stretch out to 5.0 innings in his most recent start. Even if Rodon takes a few starts to truly regain his form with the White Sox, his return will be a boon to a rotation that currently sports the seventh-worst staff ERA (4.85) in the majors.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

White Sox's Jose Quintana: Strikes out nine in win

Quintana (4-8) pitched 6.2 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts during Thursday's win over Minnesota.

The veteran lefty has now allowed just six runs through 24 innings over his past four starts with 24 strikeouts. His recent form is encouraging, and there's a decent chance that he's past his early-season struggles (5.60 ERA through his first 11 starts). Quintana is a prime candidate to be traded to a contender, which would probably boost his fantasy value down the stretch. Unfortunately, a difficult matchup against the Yankees is on deck for Quintana.

  • Martin Perez SP | ATL

Rangers' Martin Perez: Collects fourth win

Perez (4-6) allowed four runs -- three earned -- on nine hits and two walks while striking out three batters through six innings during Thursday's win over Toronto.

Perez continues to post underwhelming fantasy numbers with a 4.70 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 6.7 K/9 for the season. He's probably best left to deep seasonal setting but does have potential as a streaming option or low-priced flier in daily contests when Texas has a soft matchup. Perez projects to to face Cleveland at Progressive Field in his next start. It checks out as a daunting test for the 26-year-old lefty.

  • Marcus Stroman SP | NYY

Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Serves up seven runs through four in loss

Stroman (7-4) allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five batters over just four innings during Thursday's loss to Texas. He also allowed a season-high three home runs.

Stroman had pitched into the sixth inning in each of his previous eight starts and posted a 2.55 ERA and 1.18 WHIP during that stretch, so it's probably best not to overreact to Thursday's stinker. Texas owns a dangerous lineup, and Globe Life Park in Arlington is a hitter-friendly venue, after all. Stroman will look to rebound against Balitmore at Rogers Centre in his next start.

  • Angels' Parker Bridwell: In line for Sunday start

Bridwell is set to make another start Sunday against Boston, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

With Matt Shoemaker failing to return for this weekend due to a forearm issue, Bridwell will get a another chance to shine at the major-league level. He earned the win Tuesday against the Yankees, going five innings and only allowing two earned runs. Although he walked five and only struck out three, Bridwell showed the propensity to get out of situations and earns another look in the starting rotation this weekend.

  • Tyler Cloyd SP | MIA

Mariners' Tyler Cloyd: Clears waivers, sent to Triple-A

The Mariners outrighted Cloyd to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday after he cleared waivers, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Cloyd boasted a 1.40 ERA in five starts at Tacoma already this year, and his one-outing cameo with the Mariners wasn't enough to argue for a sustained opportunity. The 30-year-old, who had a bit of prospect promise near the turn of the decade with the Phillies, will look to bolster his case as something more than an organizational depth piece.

  • Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Continues work ahead of rehab stint

Rodriguez (knee) threw a bullpen session Wednesday and will go through fielding drills off the mound Friday, Chad Jennings of the Boston Herald reports.

Rodriguez will throw a 30-pitch live batting practice session Saturday with the hope he can begin a rehabilitation assignment after that. Manager John Farrell is "hopeful" the left-hander will need only one minor-league game before he's activated.

  • Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Picks up fifth win Wednesday

Montgomery (5-4) gave up two runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Angels. He struck out five.

It wasn't the sharpest outing for the rookie left-hander, but Montgomery has now won three straight decisions and has a 2.96 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB through 24.1 innings in four June starts. He'll get a tough challenge Monday on the road against a White Sox squad that leads the league in wOBA against southpaws.

  • Ricky Nolasco SP | ARI

Angels' Ricky Nolasco: Struggles continue Wednesday

Nolasco (2-9) gave up five runs on seven hits and five walks over 5.1 innings while striking out five in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Yankees.

The veteran righty hasn't won a game since April and has taken the loss in seven straight starts, putting up a 6.28 ERA and 1.66 WHIP over that stretch. Nolasco will try to pull out of his freefall in his next trip to the mound Monday on the road against the Dodgers.

  • James Paxton SP | BOS

Mariners' James Paxton: Hittable in no-decision versus Detroit

Paxton gave up nine hits and four runs (three earned) over 5.1 innings against the Tigers on Wednesday, striking out eight and walking two.

He missed a lot of bats, but Paxton also saw a lot of his pitches get hit, which is why he threw 101 of them in this relatively short outing. After getting off to a red-hot start, Paxton spent most of May on the DL, and he hasn't quite been the same since returning. With his numbers having declined into mediocre territory, this might be a good time to swoop in with a buy-low offer.
