Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Athletics' Sonny Gray: Activated from DL
Gray (back) was activated from the disabled list Monday.
As expected, Gray has rejoined the Athletics in time make his season debut against the Twins on Tuesday after missing the first month of the season with a lat strain. The 27-year-old is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2016 that saw him post career worsts in ERA (5.69) and WHIP (1.50) across 117 innings (22 starts). Gray looked sharp in two rehab outings before being activated, going 2-0 and allowing just three hits while posting a 13:0 K:BB through 11 innings. Outfielder Ryan LaMarre was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Athletics' Frankie Montas: Struggles again Sunday
Montas gave up three earned runs on two hits and a walk over an inning in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Astros. He also recorded a strikeout.
Montas has now given up six earned runs over the 5.2 innings encompassing his last four appearances, although he's also recorded eight strikeouts over that span. The 24-year-old has seen his ERA rise from 3.24 to 5.79 during that stretch thanks to allowing plenty of contact -- 10 hits, including two homers. While he possesses a high-90s fastball, it's clear that Montas, who has only 29 innings of major-league experience, is still enduring some growing pains.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Tosses six innings for no-decision against Cubs
Rodriguez allowed one run on five hits (one home run) while walking two and striking out nine over six innings for a no-decision in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Cubs.
Aside from his four-run outing in his season debut, E-Rod has allowed just four earned runs in his last three starts, dropping his ERA to a clean 2.70. The main damage he allowed in this one was a solo homer to Kris Bryant in the fifth inning. Rodriguez came into the season with sleeper hype and is delivering on it so far. He has fanned 31 while walking 14 in his four starts. Things are looking up for the promising 24-year-old.

Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Loses again to Angels
Perez (1-4) allowed four runs on eight hits while walking four and striking out one over 5.2 innings for his fourth loss of the season in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.
Perez has now allowed at least three earned runs in four of six starts on the year and sports a 4.26 ERA after his 90-pitch outing Sunday. The left-hander is also striking out just 5.68 hitters per nine innings, so the upside is minimal, especially for a pitcher that has an overly hitter-friendly home park. He's an extremely average pitcher, and fantasy owners can probably do better in mixed leagues at the moment.
-
JC Ramirez SP | LAA
Angels' JC Ramirez: Wins third game on Sunday
Ramirez (3-2) allowed two runs on four hits (one home run) while walking one and striking out nine over 5.1 innings for his third victory of the year in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.
It was the 28-year-old's first win as a starter on his fourth try after 111 career relief outings. Ramirez is proving useful as a spot starter for the injured Garrett Richards (biceps), and he struck out six of the last eight batters he faced. He's now fanned 16 batters in his last two starts over 12.1 innings and sports a 31:9 K:BB over his 27.2 innings in 2017. While Ramirez is likely just filling in while Richards rehabs, he can be an effective streaming starter because of his high-90s heater and strikeout upside.

Jason Hammel SP | TEX
Royals' Jason Hammel: Drops to 0-3 with loss to Twins
Hammel (0-3) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five batters over three innings during Sunday's loss to Minnesota.
Hammel has allowed at least three runs in four of his five starts and has only pitched out of the fifth inning in one outing. The result is a 0-3 record with a crippling 6.55 ERA and 1.94 WHIP. At this stage of the game, it's pretty difficult to rely on Hammel in any fantasy setting, but his 3.92 FIP suggests there are stabler times ahead. Unfortunately, a start against the deep Cleveland lineup is on tap for Hammel.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Tosses five frames versus Orioles
Montgomery allowed three runs on three hits and four walks across five innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Orioles. He struck out seven.
Montgomery cruised through five innings having allowed just one run, but he ran into trouble in the sixth and allowed the first two men to reach -- both of whom later came around to score -- before being pulled with no outs. The left-hander reached a new season high in free passes as he struggled with his command at times, but he also tied a personal best with seven punchouts to raise his K/9 to 9.7. Montgomery will take a 4.15 ERA into Saturday's matchup with the Cubs.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Orioles' Wade Miley: Escapes trouble for no-decision
Miley allowed two runs on eight hits and five walks across five innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Yankees. He struck out six.
Miley struggled with his command and routinely allowed men on base, but he mitigated the damage by limiting extra-base hits and inducing a pair of double plays. Walks have been a real problem for the lefty this season, and this display bumped his BB/9 up to a staggering 5.5. Luckily, he has also produced a stellar K/9 of 11.0 to help him battle through numerous jams. Miley still owns a 2.32 ERA despite some adventurous outings and will look to tighten things up Friday against the White Sox.

Alec Asher SP | MIL
Orioles' Alec Asher: Starting Tuesday against Boston
Asher will start Tuesday against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Jayson Aquino had been scheduled to start Tuesday, but after being used in Saturday's game the need for a different starter arose. Asher started a game against the Blue Jays earlier in the season. It was a solid outing and he gave up just a single run over 6.1 innings. However, since then, he's been used as a reliever and pitched just two innings across two games.

Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL
Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Improves to 5-0 with another gem
Keuchel (5-0) allowed a single run on just three hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over 7.2 innings during Sunday's win over Oakland.
The southpaw's rebound campaign continues to gain momentum. Keuchel sports a high-end 1.21 ERA and 0.81 WHIP with a 7.3 K/9. The uptick in strikeouts was encouraging Sunday, and with ace pitchers dropping like flies around the league, Keuchel's return to his Cy Young form has been all the more valuable. He'll look to stay undefeated against the Angels in his next start.
