Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Quality start versus Yankees
Gausman allowed just one run with five strikeouts and two walks across six quality innings in Sunday's start versus the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.
Gausman threw 70 of his 104 pitches for strikes Sunday and notched at least five punchouts for the fourth straight start, but his offense waited until the eighth inning to awaken and left him searching for his first win. Gausman has pitched much better than his record will reflect, as he now has a 3.52 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP through 11 starts, and he will look to find that elusive first victory Friday at Toronto.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Tosses six scoreless innings in Sunday's win
Kluber (5-6) allowed just two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings Sunday, striking out six, in a win against the Royals.
It's his seventh quality start of the season, and Kluber has struck out six or more batters in five straight starts. His 3.84 ERA remains a bit inflated, but his 79:18 K:BB in 79.2 innings is still elite. Kluber will next take the mound on the road Friday against the Angels.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Gets taken deep four times in Sunday's loss
Rodriguez (1-1) gave up only four hits in 5.2 innings Sunday, but all four left the yard in a 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays. He walked three without striking out a batter.
Toronto's sluggers made him pay for almost every mistake, but Rodriguez also had trouble avoiding contact, managing only four swinging strikes on 99 pitches. He shouldn't have quite as much difficulty keeping the ball in the park during his next start Saturday in Minnesota.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Tosses seven strong innings in Sunday's win
Verlander (5-5) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk in seven innings while striking out eight in Sunday's win over the White Sox.
Both runs came on solo shots by Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier, but Verlander's stinginess in letting anyone get on base limited the damage. Verlander threw an impressive 76 of 104 pitches for strikes, and the strong outing dropped his ERA below 4.00 for the first time all season. He'll look to keep his momentum going on the road against the Yankees on Saturday.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
White Sox's Jose Quintana: Gets roughed up in Sunday's loss
Quintana (5-6) took the loss against the Tigers on Sunday, allowing five runs on nine hits and three walks over 4.2 innings while striking out four.
It was his shortest outing of the season, and Quintana's ERA spiked by nearly half a run as he had trouble finding the zone all day, throwing just 57 of his 103 pitches for strikes. Despite his generally strong performance this year, he's now lost five straight starts due to the lack of run support he's been getting from the White Sox, a familiar refrain throughout his career. He'll try to get back in the win column at home against the Royals on Saturday.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Athletics' Sonny Gray: Could be limited to around 80 pitches in return
Gray (back) could face a limit of roughly 80 pitches in Sunday's start against the Astros, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.
Gray was scheduled to throw about 80 pitches with High-A Stockton had the A's elected to keep him on a rehab assignment, but with the team deciding to activate him from the DL for Sunday's contest, they'll opt to use the right-hander judiciously in his first game back. Since Gray had been struggling prior to the DL and likely won't go much longer than five or six innings, he doesn't make for an appealing DFS target for the Sunday slate.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Athletics' Sonny Gray: Activated in advance of Sunday's start
Gray (back) was activated from the 15-day DL on Sunday.
As anticipated, Gray is in line to take the hill for Sunday's series finale with the Astros after missing the last two weeks with a strained right trapezius. The 26-year-old has been horrendous this season, delivering a 6.19 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 48 innings, so it'll be tough to rely on him as a DFS option Sunday, even with the strikeout-prone Astros awaiting him.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Struggles against Red Sox again Saturday
Stroman (5-2) gave up nine hits, six earned runs and five walks over 5.2 innings in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Red Sox. He struck out four.
The 25-year-old saw the Red Sox get the better of him for the second time in a week, during which surrendered a total of 13 earned runs in 11 innings. Control was a considerable problem for Stroman on Saturday, as the five free passes he issued were a season high. The few bright spots that the right-hander could take from the appearance would include the fact that he didn't surrender any homers after giving up a pair last Saturday, and that he induced 11 swinging strikes. However, his ERA has ballooned almost a full run to 4.82 after his two meetings with Boston, and he's now lost two of his last three decisions. He'll try his luck against the Orioles on Thursday.

Chris Sale SP | ATL
White Sox's Chris Sale: Loses second game of 2016 versus Tigers
Sale (9-2) allowed four runs on nine hits over 6.1 innings during Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Tigers. He also struck out just two and walked two in defeat.
After winning his first nine outings, Sale has two losses and a no-decision in his last three starts. Over those three outings, he has a 6.48 ERA, which has caused his season ERA to rise from 1.58 to 2.54. But what was really strange about Saturday's outing was Sale's lack of strikeouts. He only had five swing-and-misses, which helped lead to a season-low two punchouts. He will look to get back on track Friday against the Royals.

Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Wins third straight start
Perez improved his record to 4-4 Saturday versus the Mariners, allowing three runs with one strikeout and one walk across six innings.
The left-hander allowed nine hits Saturday, but just two went for extra bases and some timely pitching caused Seattle to leave nine men on base. Perez did set a season-low with just one punchout, but he turned in his seventh quality start in 10 tries and won his third straight at home. He has developed into a solid middle-of-the-rotation pitcher for the Rangers and will look to keep it rolling Thursday versus the Astros.
