Kyle Gibson will pitch, but won't start Tuesday
Twins pitcher Kyle Gibson will not start Tuesday, but will still pitch.
Gibson will be replaced by Mike Pelfrey, who was slated to start a minor-league game. The club determined the fields were too wet for Pelfrey to make that start, and decided to throw him against the Orioles instead. Gibson will come on in relief of Pelfrey, and is expected to throw three innings. Gibson was recently named the team's fifth starter, so getting him innings is important at this stage of the game.

It's unclear whether Yu Darvish will throw Tuesday
It's unclear whether Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish will throw in a minor-league game Tuesday, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Darvish was able to play catch Monday, and said he had improved. He stressed that he was not 100 percent, however. Darvish was expected to throw in a minor-league game Tuesday, but pitching coach Mike Maddux did not provide any information about Darvish's schedule. There's still a chance the appearance happens, but it seems unclear at this time. Darvish has been dealing with a neck issue, which could push him back in the rotation to start the season.

Jose Quintana lands five-year contract extension

"Jose quickly has established himself as a quality major-league starting pitcher, and along with Chris Sale, we expect him to be an important piece of our rotation for the foreseeable future," said Rick Hahn, White Sox senior vice president/general manager. "Jose brings a tremendous work ethic and professionalism to his approach, and he is well respected by his teammates, so we are excited to be able to reward him for what he has accomplished thus far in his career and possibly keep him in a White Sox uniform for the next seven seasons."
