Kevin Gausman bounces back in no-decision
Orioles starting pitcher Kevin Gausman, who was roughed up in his previous start, bounced back with a solid outing but did not factor in the decision Thursday night against the Red Sox.

Gauman is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday at Detroit. He is 0-3 with a whopping 12.15 ERA in three starts away from home. -

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Justin Verlander gets little support in no-decision
Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander tossed a gem Wednesday, his fourth straight start with at least seven innings pitched. Unfortunately, the team's bullpen could not make a 2-0 lead stand up late, snapping his four-game winning streak.
Verlander took a no-decision despite leaving with a lead, after holding the Royals scoreless in seven strong innings. Verlander allowed three hits, all singles, and two walks in the game, while striking out eight batters. He threw 79 of 117 pitches for strikes in the outing, as his ERA fell to 3.41.
The Tigers lost, 3-2.
Verlander is set to make his next start Tuesday against the Orioles.

Jason Hammel SP | TEX
Jason Hammel falters late
Orioles starting pitcher Jason Hammel was in line a win and a quality start when he entered the seventh inning of Wednesday's game against the Angels, but left with a no-decision.
Hammel gave up a leadoff single and a walk to open the seventh, ending his game. Both runners came around to score, costing Hammel the quality start and a chance to win, as the Orioles' bullpen imploded, in a 9-5 loss.
Hammel was charged with four earned runs in six innings, while allowing seven hits and two walks. He struck out just one, while throwing 72 of 104 pitches for strikes. His ERA rose to 5.24 with the outing. Hammel will make his next scheduled start Monday against the Tigers.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Corey Kluber sharp in victory
Indians starter Corey Kluber was sharp Tuesday night on the road in Texas. Kluber held a talented offense to just one run over eight shining innings in a win.
Kluber improved to 4-4 on the season as he gave up just a David Murphy RBI double in his eighth and final inning over six hits and three walks. He threw 103 pitches and struck out three batters. His ERA is at 4.08.
That said, Kluber had a start May 10 at Detroit in which he allowed eight runs on 11 hits over 4 2/3 innings. That may have been an aberration considering he's pitched to a 3.08 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 53 strikeouts over 52 2/3 innings in his 10 other starts. Kluber has continued to pitch well and makes his next scheduled outing Monday against Kansas City.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Jose Quintana watches lead disappear
White Sox starter Jose Quintana pitched fairly well Tuesday at home against the Blue Jays. Unfortunately, closer Addison Reed blew his one-run lead in the ninth.
Quintana settled for the no-decision as he allowed four runs -- two earned -- on six hits and a walk over 6 1/3 innings. He threw 111 pitches and struck out five batters. Quintana was hurt by an Edwin Encarnacion two-run homer in the fifth inning.
Quintana has a 3.86 ERA after 13 outings. He hasn't earned a win since May 21 against Boston and is 0-1 in four starts since. He gives Chicago plenty of innings, however, and has 55 Ks over 77 innings. Quintana makes his next start Monday at Houston.
