Eflin didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks across four innings. He struck out three.

Eflin was activated from the 15-day IL for Wednesday's start and was yanked after 55 pitches. He was expected to be under a pitch count after being stretched out to only 40 pitches during his recovery from a back injury. The 30-year-old had to shake off a little rust, allowing all three hits and both runs in the first inning before retiring nine straight batters to close out the start. While Eflin will likely remain limited for the next few starts, he's worth a look in his next projected start, which is scheduled for Tuesday against the Cubs.

Paddack (4-3) took the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over four-plus innings.

Paddack fell behind 4-0 after one frame but bounced back by holding the Yankees without a baserunner over the following three innings. However, the right-hander loaded the bases without retiring a batter in the fifth, and all three of those runners came around to score following his departure to further mar his final stat line. The four innings tied a season-low total for Paddack, matching the amount he completed in his season debut against Milwaukee on April 3. If there's a silver lining, it's that Paddack managed to punch out seven batters, his highest mark over his past five starts.

Estes (2-1) allowed one hit and struck out five without walking a batter over 6.1 scoreless innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Estes retired 18 straight batters to start the game before giving up a leadoff double to J.P. Crawford in the seventh inning. This was easily the best start of Estes' young career, and he's now allowed one run or fewer in three of his five outings in 2024. He's still at a 4.67 ERA, but his 0.96 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB over 27 innings are more indicative of the quality of his pitching. He's projected to make his next start on the road in San Diego.

Rodon (8-2) earned the win over Minnesota on Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out nine batters.

Rodon was staked to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and never looked back, keeping alive a perfect game until Carlos Santana homered with one out in the sixth frame. The left-handed hurler picked up his sixth consecutive win, and he's notched a quality start in each of those victories. Rodon also dominated with 18 swinging strikes Wednesday en route to a season-high nine punchouts. He's bounced back from a disastrous first year in New York last season to post a 3.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 71:20 K:BB through 73 innings during the current campaign.

Fedde allowed three runs on six hits and struck out seven without issuing a walk over five innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Wednesday.

Fedde left the game in line for the win until the Cubs rallied ahead in the seventh inning. He had quality starts in four of his six outings in May, but he's given up seven runs over his last 10 innings across two starts. Fedde is at a 3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 73:22 K:BB through 74.1 innings over 13 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at Seattle.

The Orioles will recall Povich from Triple-A Norfolk to start Thursday against the Blue Jays in Toronto, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.

Povich joined the Orioles' taxi squad Wednesday and will now be called upon to make his MLB debut in Toronto, with his addition providing right-hander Kyle Bradish with an extra day of rest between starts. The 24-year-old Povich has spent all season with Norfolk, posting a 3.18 ERA and 1.12 WHIP to go with a 75:21 K:BB through 56.2 innings across 11 starts. Given the amount of talent the Orioles already have in their rotation, it's unlikely the left-hander's stint with Baltimore extends past Thursday.

Maeda left Wednesday's game against the Rangers due to right abdominal discomfort, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Maeda was grabbing his right side after throwing just two pitches during Wednesday's contest, and Detroit's trainers decided it was enough of an issue to warrant his removal. The Tigers still have not yet indicated how severe the 36-year-old's injury is, but they will continue to monitor his condition as he approaches his next start -- tentatively scheduled for next Wednesday against Washington.

Maeda was removed from his start Wednesday against the Rangers due to an apparent injury, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

After just his second pitch of the game, Maeda was grabbing at his right side. He threw a few warmup pitches in front of trainers, but the decision was eventually made to take the 36-year-old righty out of the game. The Tigers will take a closer look at him and should have more information on the nature of his injury within the near future.

Blanco (5-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out two.

Blanco held St. Louis to one run through his first four frames before surrendering three runs between the fifth and sixth innings. After starting the year 5-0, Blanco's now dropped back-to-back starts while allowing eight runs across 9.1 innings in that span. The 30-year-old right-hander still sports a solid 2.78 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP and 59:27 K:BB across 11 starts (64.2 innings) this year. Blanco will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week in San Francisco.

Pivetta (3-4) earned the win Wednesday over Atlanta, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings.

It was a stellar effort against a potent Atlanta lineup from Pivetta, who now has nine strikeouts in consecutive starts while punching out eight or more in four of his last five outings. The 31-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 3.40 with a 0.94 WHIP and 51:9 K:BB across eight starts (42.1 innings) this season. Pivetta is currently in line for a home matchup with the Phillies early next week in his next outing.
