Cobb (hip/elbow/shoulder) has been held back from throwing for the last few days due to soreness in his right shoulder, and he is set to see a team doctor Friday night, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.comreports.

Cobb was shifted to the 60-day IL on April 20 to give him more time to recover from his multiple ailments. He underwent left hip surgery in the offseason and was progressing through his rehab assignment following spring training, but he has suffered another setback with right shoulder soreness this time. Cobb's visit with the team doctor Friday night should give him and the Giants a better idea of the next steps in his rehab.

The Padres optioned Vasquez to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

Vasquez made two starts with the Padres after being recalled from El Paso last Saturday, allowing five earned runs across 7.2 innings while striking out five batters and walking three. He'll now head back to the minors, and Jeremiah Estrada will come up in his place to add depth to San Diego's bullpen.

Cavalli (elbow) is scheduled to face live batters Monday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

The right-hander has recently been ramping things up in his bullpen sessions and is now ready to face live hitters for the first time since he underwent Tommy John surgery in March of 2023. Cavalli will likely require at least a couple live sessions before progressing to a rehab assignment, which should include a handful of starts in the minors.

Puk is playing catch and is no longer feeling fatigue in his left shoulder, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Puk landed on the injured list last weekend, but it sounds like he could have a shot to return when his 15 days are up or close to it. He will shift back to a relief role when he does make it back and should eventually be in the mix for high-leverage work in what has been a very shaky Marlins bullpen.

Miley was diagnosed with a torn UCL in his left elbow Friday and will undergo Tommy John surgery, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The 37-year-old landed on the shelf with elbow swelling early in the week and had his initial MRI results come back inconclusive, but an in-person arthrogram revealed the worst-case scenario. It's a brutal development for the Brewers' rotation and for Miley individually. At this point, he says he plans to continue his career after recovering from the procedure, McCalvy reports. "I've always said I want to go out on my own [terms]," Miley said Friday. "I still feel like I've got more in the tank."

Manager Dave Roberts said Friday on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that Buehler (elbow) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday before potentially returning from the 15-day injured list.

The right-hander threw 86 pitches and allowed five runs (three earned) over 4.1 innings Wednesday for Oklahoma City, and the Dodgers don't feel he's quite ready to make his 2024 debut. Buehler's performance in five starts during the rehab assignment has been underwhelming with a 4.86 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB over 16.2 innings.

Megill (shoulder) will start a rehab assignment Saturday at High-A Brooklyn, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander suffered a shoulder strain in his season debut March 31 against the Brewers, but he's now recovered from the injury and is ready for game action. Megill figures to require at least two starts in the minors before being cleared to rejoin the Mets' rotation.

Senga (shoulder) threw an up-and-down bullpen session Thursday and is slated to face hitters Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

It will be the right-hander's first time facing hitters since he was diagnosed with a shoulder capsule strain back in late February. Senga still faces a long road ahead, but he's making progress and is closing in on a rehab assignment. He is on the 60-day injured list and not eligible for activation until late May.

The Marlins placed Luzardo on the 15-day injured list Friday with left elbow tightness.

The left-hander was scratched from Friday's start against Washington due to the injury and will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. According to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, Luzardo first felt the elbow issue while playing catch Thursday and believes it shouldn't be a lengthy absence, though he's also awaiting test results that should provide more clarity on the injury.

Luzardo felt soreness in his pitching elbow Thursday and is set to undergo further testing. It's yet another blow to a Marlins pitching staff that's sustained plenty of them early on this season. Anthony Maldonado will be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville to work as the opener Friday in a bullpen game for Miami. Luzardo has had an uneven 2024 season, collecting a 6.58 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB over 26 innings covering his first five starts.
