Chirinos didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Giants, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over four innings while striking out four.

After giving up six runs in both of his last two starts, Chirinos showed modest improvement Saturday by surrendering only four runs. Since being acquired by Atlanta on July 23, Chirinos owns an ugly 9.27 ERA and 22:7 K:BB and has yet to go deeper than five innings in any of his outings. He's tentatively scheduled for a rematch with the Giants in San Francisco for his next start next weekend, though it's possible his spot in the rotation could be in jeopardy.

Steele (14-3) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings against the Royals. He struck out seven.

Steele found himself in some trouble after giving up back-to-back hits to open the second inning but managed to retire the next three batters as the Royals got one run across. The right-hander surrendered only three more hits from that point on while striking out seven batters for the third start in a row. Steele has now won his last five decisions (spanning six starts) and eight of his last nine. He has not allowed more than three earned runs since May 26 and his 14 wins have him tied with Spencer Strider for the major-league lead.

Webb did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing four runs on nine hits over six innings against Atlanta. He struck out five.

After nearly tossing a complete-game shutout in his last start, Webb came back to earth against Atlanta, tying his season high in hits allowed across six frames. The right-hander also surrendered his first home run since July 28, as Ronald Acuna tagged him for a solo shot in the fifth. The outing ended what was an impressive stretch of play for Webb, who boasted a 2.20 ERA and a 21:2 K:BB over his previous five starts (28.2 innings). The 26-year-old will have an opportunity to get revenge in his next start when Atlanta comes to Oracle Park.

Henry (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Henry has been on the 15-day IL since July 30 and will now be ineligible to return until the Diamondbacks' final series of the regular season versus Houston in late September. The move created a spot on the 40-man roster for Nabil Crismatt, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

The Mets optioned Lucchesi to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

Despite looking strong and earning the win during his start Friday against St. Louis with 5.2 scoreless innings, Lucchesi will return to the minors. Vinny Nittoli will take Lucchesi's spot on the active roster in order to strengthen the Mets' bullpen.

The Giants placed Stripling on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a mid-back strain, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Stripling had his back evaluated before Friday's game after experiencing some soreness. He will be held out for at least the next two weeks while Sean Hjelle comes up from Triple-A Sacramento to fill Stripling's spot on the roster.

The Dodgers placed Gonsolin on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right forearm inflammation, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

After officially announcing Gonsolin's move to the injured list, manager Dave Roberts stated that it is unlikely Gonsolin pitches again this season, per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. The 29-year-old righty will get an MRI on his elbow next week, at which point the team will have a better idea of whether Gonsolin will be shut down for the year. Bryan Hudson was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

The Phillies placed Suarez on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right hamstring strain.

Suarez had already been ruled out for his scheduled start Sunday, but he'll now be forced to miss multiple turns through the rotation. The team initially said it believed Suarez's injury to be relatively minor, so there is a good chance that Suarez spends the minimum amount of time on the IL, but a clearer picture for a return timeline will come as Suarez recovers. Andrew Bellatti was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.

Gonsolin has been pitching through an elbow issue but will likely require a trip to the injured list, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The exact nature of Gonsolin's injury is unclear, but the issue helps explain his poor run of starts. He allowed 10 runs (including five homers) in 3.1 innings Friday against the Marlins, bringing his ERA over his last six starts to 8.01. The injury could mean Ryan Pepiot sticks around in the rotation after a spot start in Saturday's doubleheader, or it could open a path for Emmet Sheehan or Gavin Stone to get another chance.

Gasser went 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 29:5 K:BB in 18 innings over his last four starts with Triple-A Nashville.

Gasser was knocked around a bit in July, but he has bounced back in a big way, striking out at least nine batters in all three of his August starts and keeping opposing baserunners to a minimum. Gasser has never pitched at the big-league level, but there's a chance he could do so before the campaign comes to a close.
