Davis was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.

Davis will return to the big-league roster just two days after he was sent down Wednesday, after Brent Suter (oblique) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Davis has produced an inflated 7.47 ERA and 1.91 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 15.2 innings (four starts) with the Rockies this season.

The Pirates transferred Velasquez (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Velasquez underwent season-ending surgery to repair the UCL in his right elbow earlier this month, so his move to the 60-day IL doesn't come as much of a surprise. The 31-year-old righty will end the season with a 3.86 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 37 strikeouts through 37.1 innings. He'll become a free agent this offseason and figures to return midway through 2024.

Ashcraft (calf) will return from the 15-day injured list and start Saturday's game against Atlanta, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Ashcraft landed on the IL after taking a comebacker to his left calf June 9, and he'll officially return to the Reds' rotation in the minimum amount of time. The 25-year-old righty holds a 12.46 ERA and 2.17 WHIP across his last five starts, and he will face an Atlanta lineup that leads the majors in team OPS (.814) in his return.

Soroka gave up one run on one hit and two walks over seven innings for Triple-A Gwinnett during the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Jacksonville, striking out a season-high nine.

The 25-year-old right-hander took a no-hitter into the seventh and final inning before seeing it, and his shutout bid, ruined by an Austin Allen solo shot with two outs. Soroka has been outstanding since his demotion in early June, posting a 1.42 ERA and 18:8 K:BB over three starts for Gwinnett, and while his initial return to the majors didn't go smoothly, he could yet be a factor for Atlanta later in the summer.

Sims (elbow) has struck out six and walked two over 5.1 scoreless innings across four rehab appearances in the Arizona Complex League.

Sims, who has two monster pitches in his fastball and slider, had Tommy John surgery last spring and is too advanced for the hitters at this level, so the results don't tell us much other than that he is healthy enough to pitch in games. It's unclear when he will be assigned to an affiliate.

Vines has not pitched yet this season due to right shoulder inflammation, Baseball America reports.

Vines opened the year on the 7-day injured list, but this is the first reporting on the exact nature of his injury. It's good to know he hasn't undergone surgery, but shoulder injuries are still troublesome. If he is able to get healthy, Vines could be an option to help out the big-league rotation or bullpen in the second half.

Wood (2-2) took the loss Thursday, allowing six runs on four hits and four walks over 3.1 innings against the Padres. He struck out two.

The Padres wasted no time in jumping all over the lefty as he issued walks to two of the first three batters he faced before surrendering a three-run shot to Gary Sanchez. Wood allowed another three-run homer to Manny Machado in the third inning and has now allowed six runs in two of his last three starts. This marked Wood's shortest outing since May 12 and his ERA now sits at 5.17 on the season.

Snell (4-6) earned the win Thursday, allowing three hits over six scoreless innings against the Giants. He struck out 11 without walking a batter.

Snell's red-hot June continued as the lefty pitched six innings of shutout ball for the second straight start and third time in four starts this month. The only real trouble he faced on the afternoon came in the fifth inning, when he allowed back-to-back singles with two outs. However, he got himself out of the jam by striking out Bryce Johnson and then proceeded to strike out the side in the sixth to finish with double-digit strikeouts for the third consecutive game. Snell holds a ridiculous 0.50 ERA over his last six starts to go along with a 56:13 K:BB in 36 innings.

Lauer was placed on the inactive list for Triple-A Nashville as he works through an undisclosed health issue, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

He last pitched for Nashville on June 11 but gave up seven earned runs on 12 hits and four walks over 4.2 innings in his last two appearances, so Lauer may have been at less than 100 percent at that time. He should be considered out indefinitely.

Keller allowed one run on five hits and no walks while striking out five batters over seven innings in Thursday's no-decision against Miami.

Miami starter Braxton Garrett made more noise with 13 strikeouts, but Keller matched him on the scoreboard with just one earned run over seven frames. The Pittsburgh hurler allowed only extra-base hit (a double) and notched his 10th quality start of the campaign, tied for ninth-most in the league. While Keller has had some bumps of late -- he came into Thursday with a 6.14 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across his past five starts -- he's still putting up a career-best campaign overall. Through 16 starts, he's already notched a career-best eight wins while posting a 3.45 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 113:26 K:BB over 99 innings.
