Stripling (back) received a cortisone shot for his SI joint, and he could advance to facing hitters soon, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Stripling told Slusser that he's also made changes to his delivery and is standing more upright than he was prior to his injury. The right-hander has been on the injured list with a back strain since the middle of May, and assuming he does face hitters in the coming days, he could have a chance to rejoin the San Francisco pitching staff around the middle of June.

Woodruff (shoulder) continues to throw off flat ground and remains hopeful to return from the 60-day injured list around the All-Star break, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Woodruff was cleared to start playing catch about two weeks ago and is likely gradually stretching out his throwing distance, but the Brewers aren't yet ready to have him advance to mound work. Once he's able to get a few bullpen sessions under his belt, Woodruff will then face hitters in live batting practice before likely pitching in at least one or two minor-league games or simulated games prior to being activated from the IL.

Miley (lat) is scheduled to make a rehab start next Sunday with Double-A Biloxi, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Miley has been on the shelf since mid-May with a posterior serratus strain around the left side of his rib cage, but he appears to have made good progress in his recovery and now looks ready to face hitters in a competitive setting. According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Miley believes he'll need only one rehab start before he's ready to rejoin the Milwaukee rotation, so he could be activated from the 15-day IL during the Brewers' three-game series with the Pirates that begins June 16.

Lauer (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Lauer expects to make a couple of outings with Nashville before he'll be ready to return from the 15-day injured list, according to McCalvy . The left-hander was placed on the IL on May 22 due to an impingement of his non-throwing shoulder and logged a 5.48 ERA and 1.52 WHIP over 42.2 innings across nine appearances (eight starts) prior to being deactivated.

Reds manager David Bell said Greene won't make his next start until next Sunday against the Cardinals while he deals with hip stiffness, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Bell added that the Reds have "no major concern" with Greene's hip, according to Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer. The right-hander was scheduled to pitch Monday against the Brewers, but that start will now go to Andrew Abbott, who will be called up from Triple-A Louisville to make his MLB debut. Greene has been excellent as of late and has struck out double-digit hitters in his last two starts, but he won't be back in action until next weekend against St. Louis, at the earliest.

The Reds will select Abbott's contract from Triple-A Louisville to have him start Monday's game against the Brewers in Cincinnati, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Hunter Greene will have his next start pushed back because of hip stiffness, so Abbott will get the chance to make his MLB debut as the Reds kick off their series with Milwaukee. According to Goldsmith , the 24-year-old lefty won't merely be in line for a spot start, as it appears Abbott will get a longer-term look in the Cincinnati rotation. Abbott has been sensational in the minors, and while his rookie status and tough home park create some fantasy risk, there's no denying there's potential for him to help in redraft formats during the 2023 campaign.

Eder (foot) will make his first start of the 2023 season for Single-A Jupiter on Sunday.

It'll be the first start for Eder since 2021, as the southpaw underwent Tommy John surgery that September and also broke his foot while rehabbing this spring. The 24-year-old left-hander was sensational in the 2021 campaign with a 1.77 ERA and 99:27 K:BB and 0.98 WHIP over 71 innings. He could be a rotation option for the Marlins in 2024 if he shows the same stuff and command he did two years ago.

Gore (3-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on nine hits over six innings against the Phillies. He struck out six and didn't issue a walk.

Gore submitted his sixth quality start of the season but suffered his third loss. The left-hander has avoided a disastrous start thus far and sports quality numbers (3.66 ERA and 1.42 WHIP) over 12 outings, but he hasn't reached his potential yet. Gore's 80:28 K:BB is elite through 64 innings, so if he can find a way to be more efficient and consistent, the 24-year-old could emerge as a top-tier fantasy starter as the season progresses. However, Gore's next start is scheduled for the opener of a three-game set in Atlanta, which should be a tough test for the 2017 first-round pick.

Ashcraft (3-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing 10 runs on nine hits and four walks over four innings in a 10-8 loss against the Brewers. He struck out two.

Ashcraft allowed a season-high 10 earned runs, marking the fourth time over his past six outings that he's given up at least seven. He's also surrendered eight home runs during that span. It's certainly been a disappointing stretch for the right-hander, who posted a 2.00 ERA and 1.17 over his first six starts (36 innings), but he's not in danger of being demoted anytime soon, especially while the Reds deal with a couple injuries in their rotation. However, things don't get any easier for Ashcraft, who's scheduled to pitch next during the finale of a three-game set versus the Dodgers.

Rea (3-3) earned the win Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks across five innings during a 10-8 victory over the Reds. He struck out five.

Rea has picked up a win in each of his last three starts, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB across 16.1 innings during that stretch. Given the litany of injuries to Milwaukee's rotation, the 32-year-old's role figures to be relatively stable moving forward, especially if he continues to submit quality performances. Rea will look to make it four straight wins during his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for the finale of a three-game set versus Baltimore.
