The Nationals optioned Adon to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.

Adon's demotion comes after he took his league-high 10th loss of the season while giving up eight earned runs in three innings during Tuesday's 12-2 loss to the Marlins. The rough outing inflated Adon's season ERA and WHIP to 6.95 and 1.76, respectively. With Adon heading to the minors, Evan Lee is expected to take over as Washington's No. 5 starter.

Farrell was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday with an unspecified injury, Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports.

Farrell has made six appearances (four starts) in Iowa this year and has posted a 4.63 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 23.1 innings. He gave up four runs in 4.1 innings during Saturday's start and is apparently dealing with an injury that will force him to miss at least a week.

Dunn (shoulder) threw a full bullpen session Sunday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Sunday marked the third time Dunn has thrown off a mound since suffering a setback with his right shoulder in March, but it was the first time in which he incorporated breaking pitches into the mix. Dunn is scheduled to throw two simulated innings in a bullpen session Friday before reporting to the Reds' spring training complex in Arizona to continue building up for a rehab assignment. Though Dunn indicated that he feels healthy now, the Reds are likely to take things slowly with him since he missed the entire second half of the 2021 season with the Mariners after he strained the same shoulder. Dunn doesn't look to be on track to return from the 60-day injured list until July.

Flaherty (shoulder) is scheduled to make his second rehab start Friday with Triple-A Memphis, the Associated Press reports.

Flaherty will be returning to the mound on four days' rest and looking to up his pitch count after he struck out three over three perfect innings in his 2022 debut Sunday with Double-A Springfield. Since Flaherty needed only 30 pitches to record his nine outs, he'll likely need at least two more rehab outings to get stretched out to around 70-to-80 pitches. Barring any setbacks in his recovery from the shoulder issue, Flaherty tentatively lines up to return from the 60-day injured list at some point in the second half of June.

Cabrera (2-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 12-2 rout of the Nationals, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander wasn't dominant, but he took a shutout into the sixth inning before Luis Garcia tagged him for a solo shot. Cabrera has been fairly impressive in two starts since joining the Marlins' rotation, and while his six walks in 12 innings needs some work, it's balanced out by 13 whiffs and only three hits allowed.

Adon (1-10) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals were routed 12-2 by the Marlins, getting hammered for eight runs on seven hits and two walks over three-plus innings. He struck out two.

After coughing up five runs in the second inning, Adon got the hook in the fourth after a three-run blast by Miami's backup catcher Nick Fortes. The 23-year-old right-hander is the first pitcher in the majors to reach 10 losses, a dubious achievement that owes as much to the struggles of the team around him as his own ineffectiveness. With Stephen Strasburg (neck) set to rejoin the rotation this week, the Nats could mercifully pull the plug on Adon's stint as a starter -- an assignment in which he's produced a 6.95 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 44:35 K:BB through 55.2 innings.

Wright (6-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits and zero walks over eight innings against the Athletics. He struck out seven.

It was another dominant outing for Wright, who threw 74 of 105 pitches for strikes in Tuesday's win. This was his third quality start in a row, and his fourth in the last five games. The young righty has been a pleasant surprise this year for both the Braves and fantasy managers and will take a 2.39 ERA into his next outing.

Kelly believes he's figured out an issue with his mechanics ahead of Wednesday's start against the Reds, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Kelly has allowed 16 earned runs in 17 innings over his last four starts, including an outing at Dodger Stadium in which he allowed eight runs in two innings. He pitched brilliantly prior to that stretch, posting a 1.71 ERA over 42 innings and seven starts. "I think more than anything it's a feel thing," Kelly said. "My timing has been a little bit off as far as mechanics. But the last week, with my bullpen (Monday), has been a lot better. It's been a lot easier to command stuff. It's been going where I want it to." A common thread in the four recent outings has been walks -- he's issued 13 free passes in those 17 innings. When the right-hander was cruising, 68 percent of his pitches were strikes compared to 60 percent during the recent four-game run. Kelly enters Wednesday's game confident he'll get back to attacking hitters as he had earlier in the season.

Ashcraft (3-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Diamondbacks after allowing three hits with four strikeouts and zero walks over six scoreless innings.

The rookie right-hander threw 51 of his 76 pitches for strikes and generated 10 swinging strikes while holding Arizona to only three baserunners. Ashcraft has now won his past three starts, and he's given up only a single run over 19.1 innings during that stretch. The 24-year-old has a 1.14 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB across 23.2 frames through the first four outings of his MLB career.

Rodon allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in four innings, taking a no-decision Tuesday versus the Rockies.

Rodon was brutally inefficient, needing 98 pitches to complete four frames in his second-shortest start of the year. He's still allowed more than two runs only twice in his 11 outings this season, but the southpaw has now gone without a win in his last five games. He's at a 3.51 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 75:22 K:BB through 59 innings this season. Rodon will aim to pitcher deeper into his next start, tentatively scheduled to be a home showdown with the Dodgers this weekend.
