Woodford was recalled from Triple-A Memphis to serve as the 27th man in Saturday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

Woodford has made eight relief appearances for the Cardinals this year, and he's posted a 2.25 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 16 innings. He was in the mix to start one of the two games during Saturday's twin bill but will be available out of the bullpen since Johan Oviedo is starting the matinee while Andre Pallante takes the mound in the second game.

Oviedo is starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cubs, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Oviedo was called up by St. Louis on Friday, and he'll make his first major-league appearance of the 2022 season during Saturday's matinee. The right-hander made 14 appearances (13 starts) for the Cardinals last year and posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 62.1 innings.

Bassitt (4-3) took the loss during Friday's 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.

Bassitt made two mistakes in serving up homers to Cody Bellinger and Zach McKinstry to fall behind early, and New York was never able to recover. Despite the loss, the 32-year-old came away with some positives by firing a season-high 110 pitches and matching a season best with eight strikeouts. Bassitt will carry a 3.74 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his next start, scheduled for midweek against San Diego.

Anderson (7-0) earned the win during Friday's 6-1 victory over the Mets, allowing three hits with five strikeouts in six scoreless innings.

Anderson was hot out of the gate, retiring 12 of the first 13 Mets he faced, and didn't let any of the four runners he put on base past second. The 32-year-old was able to induce an impressive 14 swinging strikes on 81 pitches in earning his seventh win to break a tie with 12 other pitchers for the major-league lead. Anderson has now gone 26 innings without allowing a run while striking out 25 and walking one in the stretch, with his 8.83 K/BB on the season ranking second in the league. He's slated for a mid-week start though Los Angeles' rotation could get shuffled soon with Clayton Kershaw slated to return next weekend.

Fried didn't factor into the decision during Friday's 3-1 victory over Colorado, allowing two hit and one walk with four strikeouts in eight shutout innings.

Fried shut down the Rockies at Coors but Atlanta wasn't able to score until the 10th leaving Fried with a no-decision despite posting a season-high game score of 81. The 28-year-old lefty has now gone at least six innings in each of his last 10 starts, tallying a 2.17 ERA during that span. Fried will carry a 2.74 ERA and 1.01 WHIP into his next start over the weekend against Pittsburgh.

Musgrove (6-0) threw eight shutout innings Friday versus the Brewers, allowing just one hit, three walks and a hit batter while striking out six to earn the win.

Musgrove lost the bid for a perfect game in the third inning when he plunked Victor Caratini, but he was able to carry a no-hitter into the eighth inning. Kolten Wong broke that up with a two-out double. With just one run allowed in his last 21 innings, Musgrove is absolutely locked in lately despite allowing multiple walks in each of his last four starts. He's been stellar all year with a 1.64 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 64:14 K:BB through 66 innings overall. He's projected to for a home start versus the Rockies next week.

Burnes (3-3) took the loss Friday versus the Padres. He allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 3.2 innings.

Burnes had completed at least five innings in all 10 of his starts entering Friday, but he was far from his best in this one. He threw 59 of 95 pitches for strikes, while the five runs and eight hits against him were both season highs. The right-hander has had few bad outings in the last three years, so we'll give him a pass for this one. He's at a 2.50 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 84:13 K:BB in 68.1 innings this season. Burnes will look to bounce back at home versus the Phillies next week.

Strasburg (neck) tossed six scoreless innings for Triple-A Rochester on Friday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

He gave up one hit and one walk while striking out four and throwing 83 pitches. He was also excellent in his prior rehab start, so it's fair to wonder if his next start might come in the big leagues.

Flaherty (shoulder) will make his first rehab start with Double-A Springfield on Sunday.

He has been throwing live batting practice sessions with his teammates, building up to 40-to-50 pitches most recently. Flaherty will likely require multiple rehab starts before joining the big-league rotation.

Megill (biceps) will make a rehab start with Double-A Binghamton on Sunday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

He is expected to pitch four innings if all goes well. Megill last pitched May 11 and it is unclear how many rehab starts he will need before rejoining the rotation. That said, the fact he will try to throw four frames and is being sent to an advanced affiliate suggests he may only need a couple rehab starts.
