Woodruff landed on the 15-day injured list Monday with a high ankle sprain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Woodruff left his start Friday against the Cardinals with what was previously called right ankle discomfort. Prior reports suggested he could be ready to return for his next start, which was scheduled for Wednesday against the Cubs, but he'll wind up missing at least two turns in the rotation and potentially more, with the Brewers yet to set a target date for his return. The team will have to dip into its depth options to cover for Woodruff, as Aaron Ashby has already joined the rotation in place of Freddy Peralta (lat) and Ethan Small is starting the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

Woodford was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

In a move to open a roster spot for Monday's starter Packy Naughton, Woodford was returned to Triple-A on Monday. The right-hander was originally in the mix to start Monday's contest, but after he pitched three innings of one-run ball out of the bullpen Saturday versus the Brewers he was no longer in a position to toe the rubber against the Padres. He'll remain a favorite for a call up moving forward, potentially returning for Saturday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

Small had his contract selected by the Brewers and will start Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader versus the Cubs.

Small will make his major-league debut in the day game Monday. He's posted a 1.88 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 49 strikeouts over 38.1 innings with Triple-A Nashville this season and he could stick around as a sixth starter with the Brewers moving forward.

Wheeler registered a no-decision during Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Mets, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Wheeler struggled out of the gates by permitting all three runs on three hits, a walk and an error in the bottom of the first inning, but Philadelphia was able to rally in the later innings to erase him from the record. Sunday's performance concludes a strong May that saw the 31-year-old feature a 1.65 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 40:5 K:BB in 32.2 innings across five starts. A 2.33 FIP suggests Wheeler's 3.16 ERA stands to Improve some, and his next opportunity will come against the Angels next weekend.

Bassitt didn't factor into the decision during Sunday's 5-4 victory over Philadelphia, allowing one run on two hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Bassitt encountered a bases-loaded jam with none out in the third inning but was able to escape allowing just one run and proceeded to retire the final 10 Phillies he faced. It was a nice rebound for the 33-year-old, who had surrendered 12 runs across 10.2 innings in his last two starts combined, and Bassitt has now permitted one run or fewer in six of his 10 turns. He'll carry a 3.66 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into a start projected to come next weekend against the Dodgers.

Falter was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Falter was called up to make his third major-league start Friday against the Mets, but he was charged with the loss when he gave up five runs (two earned) in three innings. The southpaw has a 5.18 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 48.2 innings over 28 appearances (three starts) in the big leagues over the last two years, but he's struck out 17 in 10.1 scoreless innings over three starts with Lehigh Valley this season.

Fried (5-2) allowed one run on six hits and three walks over six innings Sunday, striking out five and earning a victory over Miami.

Despite finding himself in a few dangerous spots, the only damage against Fried was Jorge Soler's solo shot in the first inning. It was his first win since May 7 after failing to record a decision in any of his last three outings. The 28-year-old has finished at least six innings in eight straight starts, posting a 2.52 ERA during that span. Fried is projected to start in Colorado next week.

Mahle allowed a hit and three walks while striking out eight in 6.2 scoreless innings during Sunday's loss to the Giants. He didn't factor into the decision.

Mahle threw just 58 of his 104 pitches for strikes Sunday, but he carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning while matching his season-high mark of eight strikeouts. However, the right-hander was forced to settle for a no-decision since the Reds' bullpen gave up six runs in the top of the eighth inning. Mahle gave up eight runs in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs, but he's now posted quality starts in three of his last four outings. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Nationals on Saturday.

Cobb allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out eight in six innings during Sunday's win over the Reds. He didn't factor into the decision.

Cobb allowed 13 runs on 20 hits in 11.1 innings over his last two starts, but he righted the ship against the Reds' lackluster offense Sunday. However, the right-hander was forced to settle for the no-decision since the Giants failed to record a hit until the top of the seventh inning. Following Cobb's quality start, he has a 5.73 ERA, 47:12 K:BB and 1.49 WHIP in 37.2 innings over his first eight starts of the season. He tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Miami on Friday.

Gray (5-4) allowed one run on three hits and four walks over five innings Sunday, striking out three and earning a win over the Rockies.

After serving up a leadoff home run to Charlie Blackmon on the second pitch of the game, Gray kept Colorado off the board for the rest of his outing. Since his last win May 7, he had coughed up 16 runs on seven homers over his previous three outings entering Sunday. The 24-year-old righty lowered his ERA to 5.08 with a 54:25 K:BB through 51.1 innings. Gray is lined up to take the mound in Cincinnati next week.
