Matz will start Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Matz has had an up-and-down season to this point. Though he has posted two quality starts in his last three outings, sandwiched in the middle was an eight-run blow up against the Giants, leaving his year-long ERA at 6.40. The 30-year-old will look to take advantage of the opportunity to face a Mets lineup that already played a game earlier in the day, and perhaps down a couple regulars.

Mikolas will draw the start in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Mets, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

After Monday's game got postponed, Mikolas will be on the mound for the front end of the Cardinals' doubleheader Tuesday. The right-hander has been elite this season, posting a 1.49 ERA and 0.94 WHIP over 42.1 innings in seven starts.

Peralta (3-1) picked up the win in Monday's 1-0 victory over Atlanta, giving up two hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out a season-high 10.

Two of the three baserunners Peralta allowed reached in the first inning, but after he snuffed out that threat, he dominated Atlanta the rest of the way. The right-hander fired 67 of 102 pitches for strikes as he won his third straight start and produced his second quality start of the year, and he'll take a 3.53 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 35.2 innings into his next outing. Peralta also reached 500 strikeouts for his career with the performance, and among active pitchers who have pitched at least as many innings as him, only Max Scherzer and Gerrit Cole have better lifetime K/9 rates.

Anderson (3-2) took the loss Monday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings as Atlanta fell 1-0 to the Brewers. He struck out three.

The game's lone run came on a wild pitch in the sixth inning which brought Hunter Renfroe home from third base. Anderson fired 61 of 103 pitches for strikes as he delivered his second quality start of the season, but he was outdueled by Freddy Peralta, and the Atlanta right-hander will carry a 3.75 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and disappointing 25:18 K:BB through 36 innings into his next outing.

Gonsolin (4-0) earned the win over Arizona on Monday, pitching six innings and allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Gonsolin picked up his second quality start of the campaign, tying his season high in innings and racking up his highest strikeout total of 2022. The right-hander gave the Dodgers 92 pitches, helping to conserve the bullpen near the tail end of a stretch of 14 games in 12 days. Gonsolin has been excellent for Los Angeles this season, posting a perfect 4-0 record while compiling a 1.64 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 33 innings. His 30:15 K:BB isn't ideal, but he's giving up so few hits that the walks haven't been much of a hindrance thus far.

Wood did not factor in the decision against Colorado on Monday, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five.

Wood gave up a run in the first inning but then kept the Rockies off the scoreboard in each of the following three frames. However, he was pulled in the fifth after giving up three straight one-out hits, and he was ultimately charged with two runs in the inning. This was the left-hander's shortest outing since his first start of the campaign, when he completed 4.1 frames against San Diego. Wood's next start will likely come at home against the Padres on Sunday.

Miley (1-0) pitched seven shutout innings to earn the win Monday against the Pirates. He allowed just a single hit while striking out six.

Outside of a Michael Chavis single in the fifth inning, Miley was flawless in his second start of the season. The lefty allowed three runs across three innings in his 2022 debut Tuesday, so this was clearly a step in the right direction. Miley had been sidelined with an elbow injury and now appears to be fully healthy, going from 64 pitches in his first start to 83 on Monday, and he might have thrown more had the Cubs not been up 9-0 when he departed. The veteran will look to build on this promising performance in his next scheduled start Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Alcantara (3-2) earned the win after allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out five over eight innings Monday against the Nationals.

Alcantara gave up his only run of the game in the top of the first inning on an RBI single to left field, but he would settle in and work deep into the series opener. He would exit the outing with an 8-1 lead after pounding the strike zone, firing 71 of 100 pitches for strikes. Alcantara has accrued a 2.49 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with a 42:20 K:BB through eight starts in 2022 (50.2 innings).

Senzatela left Monday's start against San Francisco early due to a lower-back strain, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

This is not the news the Rockies were hoping for, as it initially looked as though Senzatela was simply cramping up as he went out for his warmup pitches before the third inning. He'll likely be re-evaluated within the next few days to determine whether he'll require a stint on the injured list, which is a likely outcome at this point but the move is not yet official, per Nick Groke of The Athletic. Chad Kuhl, Ty Blach and Ryan Feltner are all options to start in Senzatela's place Sunday, per Groke.

Senzatela left Monday's start against the Giants after appearing to cramp up, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports. He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out three across two innings prior to exiting.

Senzatela appeared to be in some discomfort while tossing his warmup pitches before the third inning, and he was unable to continue his outing after a visit from the trainer. If the team does later confirm that he was dealing with cramping issues, he should be in no danger of missing his next start.
