Fried didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 11-6 loss to the Padres, giving up four runs on nine hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

The southpaw was still the pitcher of record when Atlanta took a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, lining him up for his fifth straight win, but Will Smith served up a three-run blast to Ha-Seong Kim in the top of the seventh to flip the script. Fried has had a strong start to the year, posting a 3.14 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 41:4 K:BB through 43 innings.

Darvish didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 11-6 win over Atlanta, giving up five runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.2 innings while striking out four.

The right-hander exited the game after 99 pitches (67 strikes) on the hook for his second loss of the year, but a rally by the Padres in the top of the seventh erased Darvish as the pitcher of record. The outing snapped a streak of four straight quality starts for the 35-year-old, and Darvish will carry a 4.62 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 32:11 K:BB through 39 innings into his next outing.

Gibson didn't factor into the decision during Friday's 12-10 victory over the Dodgers, allowing six runs on eight hits and one walk with one strikeout in 3.2 innings.

Gibson retired the first six Dodgers in order but fell apart thereafter, surrendering five runs on five hits and a walk in the third and an additional run in the fourth before being pulled. After recording 16 whiffs in his first two turns, the 34-year-old now has just 14 in the five ensuing starts with a 4.10 ERA and 1.21 WHIP on the season. He's tentatively scheduled to square off against San Diego on Thursday for his next start.

Buehler registered a no-decision during Friday's 12-10 loss against the Phillies, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.

Buehler let two runs across in the second inning and three more in the fourth, all of them coming with two outs. The five runs surrendered nearly matches his total of seven through the 27-year-old's first 24.2 innings and caused his ERA to spike nearly one full run from 1.96 to 2.81. Additionally, Buehler has only struck out more than six batters once in seven starts after doing so 15 times last season. He's projected to start again early next week against Arizona.

Smyly (1-4) took the loss during Friday's 4-3 defeat at the hands of the Diamondbacks, allowing four runs on 10 hits and one walk with four strikeouts in six innings.

Smyly was able to get through Arizona's order clean the first and third time through, but was tagged for three runs on four hits in the third and an additional run on a walk and a hit in the fourth. The six innings is the longest the 32-year-old has gone this season though the 10 hits easily surpass a previous high of six as Smyly owns a high 1.35 WHIP despite a quality 3.64 ERA. He's currently slated to pitch again early next week for a third match with Pittsburgh.

Davies (2-1) earned the win during Friday's 4-3 victory over the Cubs, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 5.2 innings.

Davies pitched well aside from the third inning, when he surrendered all three runs on three hits, but Arizona clawed back from the early deficit to put the 29-year-old in line for the victory. Davies has been his typical solid yet unspectacular self this season, permitting no more than four earned runs in any of his seven starts, though a 4.27 FIP compared to a 3.57 ERA indicates he's been a bit lucky so far. He's scheduled to toe the rubber again next week against the Dodgers.

Freeland (1-4) took the loss during Friday's 14-10 defeat at the hands of the Royals, allowing eight runs (six earned) on 12 hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He failed to record a strikeout.

Freeland got himself down 2-0 two batters into the game before permitting four more runs in the third and two in the fifth. The 28-year-old had pitched well prior to Friday -- surrendering four runs in 23 innings across his last four turns -- though he failed to record a strikeout and only induced two swinging strikes. Freeland will look to get back on track against San Francisco early next week.

Keller fell to 0-5 on the season after allowing five runs in 4.2 innings Friday against the Reds. He struck out just two batters while walking two and allowing five hits.

Keller generated some sleeper buzz over the winter after increasing his velocity, but the results have unfortunately been more of the same. He's now allowed at least four runs while failing to finish five innings in five of his first seven starts. He managed just a pair of scoreless innings this time around before allowing two runs in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the fifth. It's hard to see things suddenly changing in his next trip to the mound, when he'll carry his 6.61 ERA and 1.53 WHIP to Wrigley Field.

Mahle (2-4) earned a win and a quality start Friday against the Pirates, striking out eight batters across six innings while allowing two runs on five hits and a walk.

It was a refreshingly strong performance from Mahle, who hadn't recorded a quality start in any of his first seven starts of the year. He allowed one run on a Ben Gamel solo shot in the first inning and another on a Ke'Bryan Hayes double in the third, but it was on the whole a very encouraging performance from the right-hander. That follows a start his last time out in which he allowed two runs on just one hit across five frames, though that outing also came against the Pirates. Whether or not he can keep that momentum going against a tougher opponent Wednesday in Cleveland remains to be seen.

Gray fell to 4-3 on the season Friday against the Astros, allowing six runs on six hits across six innings while striking out five batters and walking two.

Almost all the damage the Astros did came in the first inning, a frame in which they homered twice and crossed the plate five times. Gray was allowed to remain in the game and threw five good innings after that, allowing just one more run on a Yordan Alvarez homer. It's not an outing that will have helped out any fantasy teams, but the ability to rebound at least represents an encouraging sign for the 24-year-old righty. He'll look to pitch well from the start his next time out, which lines up to come Wednesday against the Marlins.
