Gausman allowed one run on six hits and one walk over seven innings Saturday in a no-decision against San Diego. He reorded five strikeouts.

The right-hander put together his second straight quality start, holding the Padres to a Manny Machado RBI single in the sixth inning. Gausman will go into the postseason having allowed just two runs in 13 innings over his last two starts while striking out 16 against just one walk.

Musgrove limited the Giants to one run on three hits with four strikeouts over five innings Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.

After a wobbly September (5.14 ERA in five starts), Musgrove closed out his 2021 season with a terrific showing by limiting San Francisco to a Kris Bryant RBI single in the second inning. He also put up a zero in the walk column for the first time since May 30. Musgrove went 11-9 in his first season in San Diego and established personal bests in ERA (3.18), innings pitched (181.1), strikeouts (203), WHIP (1.08) and opponents' batting average (.213). He also threw a pair of shutouts, the first of his career.

Peralta will not pitch in Sunday's season finale against the Dodgers, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Peralta has not taken the mound since Sept. 26, when he tossed 5.1 innings against the Mets. Instead, the team will focus on getting him ready for the postseason, so he'll conclude the regular season with a 2.81 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 195 strikeouts across 144.1 frames. The Brewers have not announced Sunday's starter, though manager Craig Counsell also ruled out Brandon Woodruff from consideration.

Urias' workload in his start Saturday against the Brewers will be dependent on the outcome of the Giants-Padres game, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

San Francisco currently has a two-game lead in the National League West, so if they win Saturday the Dodgers will be eliminated from contention to win the division. In turn, Urias would likely be pulled early in favor of letting the bullpen work the bulk of the contest.

Megill was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

Megill has had some inconsistent outings of late, as he's turned in a 5.68 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across his last four starts and 19 innings. However, he'll end his rookie campaign on a solid note after throwing five scoreless innings to earn the win Friday against Atlanta. Overall, Megill managed a 4.52 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with a 99:27 K:BB across 89.2 frames on the season. Robert Gsellman was activated from the injured list in the corresponding move.

Suarez (8-5) shut out the Marlins over seven innings to claim the win Friday in the Phillies' 5-0 triumph. He scattered six hits and a walk and struck out a season-high nine batters in the outing.

The Phillies fell short in their bid to leapfrog Atlanta in the National League East standings in the final week of the season, but Suarez proved to be a revelation for the club upon converting from the bullpen to the rotation in early August. Over 12 starts, he submitted a 1.51, 1.08 WHIP and 65:19 K:BB in 65.2 innings. Though the Phillies deliberately limited his pitch counts in some of those early starts while he was building up his workload, Suarez was a workhorse down the stretch, covering at least six frames in each of his final five starts. He's not only secured a rotation spot for the Phillies heading into 2022, but he may even be a viable SP3 option in fantasy drafts.

Williams won't start Saturday's game in Atlanta, but he could be deployed as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen in Sunday's season finale, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Manager Luis Rojas said earlier in the week that Williams would start the Mets' penultimate game of the season, but Carlos Carrasco will instead stay on turn in the rotation to take the hill Saturday. The late change probably works out favorably for Williams, who likely wouldn't have worked deep into Saturday's outing after having covered four innings in long relief behind Noah Syndergaard just three days earlier. Assuming the Mets elect not to use Marcus Stroman -- who had been lined up to start Sunday -- out of the bullpen, Williams would make for the most logical candidate to follow Syndergaard again. The Mets aren't expected to have Syndergaard pitch more than an inning or two before turning the game over the bullpen.

Kershaw was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with left forearm discomfort.

Kershaw exited Friday's win over Milwaukee with a forearm injury and said that it's unlikely that he'll be able to pitch during the postseason. Right-hander Mitch White was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take his place on the active roster.

Strasburg (neck) will begin throwing Nov. 2, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Strasburg has spent the past few months recovery from thoracic outlet surgery, a procedure he underwent back in late July. The fact that he'll start throwing so early in the offseason seemingly bodes well for his readiness for next year, but it will be hard to have much confidence in his health during draft season given that he's made just seven starts over the last two years.

Gray pitched four innings against Arizona on Friday, surrendering seven runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven. He did not factor in the decision.

The veteran began the contest with a pair of scoreless innings before falling apart in the third. In that frame, Arizona swatted three homers and put up seven runs to take a 7-0 lead. Colorado came back to pull off the victory, however, and Gray was let off the hook. The seven runs were the most the veteran has given up in a single game this season, as were the trio of long balls. Assuming Gray doesn't take the mound again this weekend, he'll finish the campaign with an 8-12 record to go along with a 4.59 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 157:58 K:BB across 149 innings.
