Castillo (7-12) allowed one earned run on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven across seven innings Thursday, earning the win over the Marlins.

Castillo's one run against him came in the fourth inning on a Jorge Alfaro single. He allowed just one extra-base hit through seven innings. Over his last seven outings, six have been quality starts. He carries a 4.35 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 145 strikeouts in 144.2 innings. His next start is projected to come Wednesday in Milwaukee.

Walker (7-8) took the loss in Thursday's 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts in six innings.

Walker kept the Dodgers in the park but was tagged for two runs in both the second and fifth innings, and the Mets offense failed to provide any worthwhile run support. The veteran righty has a covered at least six frames in each of his past three starts and has a 3.86 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over 18.2 innings during that stretch. He tentatively lines up for another tough matchup with the Giants next week.

Woodruff (7-7) took the loss in Thursday's 8-4 defeat at the hands of the Cardinals, allowing six runs on eight hits and one walk with four strikeouts across five innings.

Woodruff was solid through the first four innings, allowing a single run, but fell apart in the fifth, permitting five runs on five hits to put Milwaukee in a 6-4 hole. The start was Woodruff's first allowing more than five runs in 24 turns, and he now possesses a 2.48 ERA, which is still top five in MLB, a 0.94 WHIP and 167:37 K:BB.

Kim (elbow) allowed two earned runs on a pair of solo home runs across two innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Memphis against Nashville on Thursday. He struck out two.

Kim threw 34 pitches overall, 22 of which found the strike zone. The left-hander's troubles with the long ball aside, it appears his recovering elbow held up well under a solid workload. Kim is likely due for at least another pair of rehab outings before activation is deemed appropriate, although he could return to the big-league club before he's fully built back up to a starter's workload.

Gore allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out eight across 4.2 innings Thursday while pitching with the Peoria Padres of the Arizona Complex League.

Gore was in official game action for the first time since June 18. The outing was impressive, though that should be expected given the level of competition. Even so, it was a positive step forward for Gore, who was expected to be a regular part of the major-league rotation by this point in the season. Given his lack of work, reaching San Diego in 2021 may no longer be realistic for Gore. On the other hand, ending the season on a strong note could set him up to make an impact at the big-league level in 2022.

Kershaw (forearm) threw from 90 feet Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Thursday marked Kershaw's fourth consecutive day playing catch. He was slated to throw several days in a row to test the strength of his forearm. The Dodgers are hoping that Kershaw will be able to make a few starts in September to be stretched out for the playoffs, though it remains to be seen whether that is a realistic target.

Gonsolin (shoulder) successfully completed a bullpen session Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gonsolin threw 20-25 pitches in the session, all of which were fastballs. Manager Dave Roberts noted that right-hander's shoulder felt strong Wednesday, though there has been no report of how it was feeling after throwing. Assuming his health checks out, Gonsolin will presumably progress to throwing all of his pitches before likely embarking on a rehab assignment.

Lopez (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Lopez completed a 35-pitch bullpen session late last week, and he'll presumably continue to build up his pitch count Thursday. The right-hander has been sidelined since mid-July due to a right shoulder strain but is likely close to facing hitters.

Brubaker dropped to 4-13 after giving up seven runs on eight hits and two walks over four innings in Wednesday's 9-0 loss to the Dodgers. He struck out six before being pulled after 82 pitches.

Brubaker put Pittsburgh in an early hole when he allowed a leadoff single to AJ Pollock and then a home run to No. 2 hitter Max Muncy, and things didn't improve much from there for the 27-year-old righty. He yielded two more home runs on the night before departing, and he's now served up multiple jacks in seven of his last nine starts. During that stretch, Brubaker has gone 0-7 with an 8.26 ERA and 1.52 WHIP.

The Brewers placed Peralta (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Peralta was pulled in the third inning of his start during Wednesday's win over the Cardinals after experiencing shoulder inflammation, but Brewers manager Craig Counsell suggested after the contest that the right-hander's removal was mostly precautionary in nature. Though the Brewers are still classifying Peralta's shoulder injury as inflammation, the team will err on the side of caution and deactivate him for at least one turn through the rotation. Given that Milwaukee was looking to manage Peralta's workload down the stretch anyway since he's pitched nearly 100 more innings than he did in 2020, his move to the IL isn't necessarily a major red flag. Assuming Peralta is cleared to resume throwing in the next few days, he should be in line for a minimum-length stay on the IL, or close to it.
