Falter was cleared Saturday to return from the COVID-19 injured list but will need a rehab assignment, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer of reports.

Falter's most recent appearance was July 18, and before that July 10, so he needs a bit of minor-league work before rejoining the Phillies. It's unclear exactly when he'll be activated, but his rehab assignment doesn't figure to last more than a few games.

Gray (7-6) earned the win Friday against the Padres after tossing 6.1 innings of two-run ball, allowing four hits and three walks while fanning four.

Gray has gone undefeated over his last seven starts, posting a 3-0 record with a strong 2.61 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 9.8 K/9 in that span. Plus, the right-hander hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in four straight appearances and has posted five quality starts during that aforementioned seven-game span. He's going through his most dominant run of the season.

Rogers (back) will be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Saturday's game against the Yankees, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The rookie will have missed only one start with lower-back spasms, which landed him on the injured list July 24. Rogers has been slightly less dominant of late, allowing multiple runs in five consecutive starts after doing so just twice in his previous eight outings. Even so, the lefty takes a stellar 2.37 ERA and 125:37 K:BB into Saturday's matchup against the Yankees.

Gonsolin completed 1.2 innings against Arizona on Friday, allowing two runs on one hit and five walks while striking out one. He did not factor in the decision.

With Los Angeles anticipating a bullpen game Saturday, the hope was that Gonsolin could take down a decent chunk of innings. Instead, the right-hander was pulled after walking four batters and allowing two runs in a disastrous second inning. Gonsolin threw only 24 of 55 pitches for strikes overall and has now issued 11 free passes over his past 10.1 innings. He still holds a strong 2.78 ERA on the campaign, but additional struggles could put his rotation spot in jeopardy given the recent acquisition of Max Scherzer and the looming return of Clayton Kershaw (forearm).

Gausman (9-5) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in 4.1 innings, taking the loss versus Houston on Friday.

In three starts since the All-Star break, Gausman has given up a stunning 11 runs across 11.2 innings. He had given up 11 runs across his last six starts before the break. The right-hander owns a 2.35 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 149:39 K:BB across 126.1 innings. It's possible his recent struggles are just regression after an incredible first half -- he's limited opponents to a .234 BABIP this year while stranding 80.6 percent of runners. He'll look to get back on track in an enticing matchup versus Arizona next week.

Lodolo hasn't pitched more than four innings in a game since returning at the beginning of July from a blister problem on his pitching hand, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Time is running short if the Reds are hoping that Lodolo could provide a boost to their rotation for the stretch run. There's a chance that wasn't in the cards anyhow, but the next step will be to stretch him out longer, and then get him up to Triple-A Louisville, where he can rejoin fellow prospect Hunter Greene.

Velasquez (3-6) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out one in two innings to take the loss against the Pirates on Friday.

Velasquez recorded his shortest outing since May 21, as he was removed from Friday's game after he gave up three runs in the first inning and two in the second. The right-hander has now been charged with four losses in his last five starts dating back to the start of July, and he's posted a 12.23 ERA and 2.21 WHIP in 17.2 innings during that time.

Sanchez was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Sanchez made his first career start in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Nationals and allowed four runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one in one-third of an inning. He'll head back to the minors after the Phillies acquired several pitchers ahead of Friday's trade deadline.

Phillies manager Joe Girardi said it's "very possible" that Gibson starts Sunday's series finale in Pittsburgh, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Meanwhile, MLB.com also lists Gibson as the Phillies' probable pitcher for Sunday, so fantasy managers can probably count on him making his team debut this weekend. After becoming a first-time All-Star on the strength of an excellent first half with the Rangers, Gibson faltered in his final two starts before being traded Friday, working 11 innings between those outings while giving up 11 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits and 10 walks. The Phillies will likely need Gibson to rediscover his first-half form if they hope to chase down the Mets for the National League East crown.

Carrasco didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Reds, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out four.

Jonathan India greeted Carrasco with a solo homer on the first pitch he threw, but after that it was fairly smooth sailing for the right-hander as he made his long-delayed Mets debut. He was removed after 58 pitches (35 strikes), not surprising given that he didn't throw more than three innings in any of his rehab starts, but it was a very encouraging beginning to his 2021 campaign. Expect Carrasco to get stretched out further in his next outing, making him at least a candidate to qualify for a win if he gets a little more run support.
