Williams (abdomen) allowed seven runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 3.2 innings during Tuesday's 15-10 loss to Philadelphia.

Williams missed over a month while recovering from an appendectomy. He threw 49 of his 74 pitches for strikes in the long-relief assignment, but he also yielded a solo shot to Rhys Hoskins in the seventh inning. The Cubs' defense did Williams few favors in his return, allowing four runs to be tacked onto his line in the seventh. The right-hander owns a 5.51 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 52:21 K:BB across 47.1 innings this season. He'll operate out of the bullpen for now, but he could be a candidate to fill a job in the rotation during the second half of the season.

Nola (6-5) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in six innings, earning the win over the Cubs on Tuesday.

Nola wasn't his sharpest Tuesday, allowing a three-run rally in the third inning and a solo home run to Javier Baez in the sixth. The right-hander benefited from a big performance from Philadelphia's offense, which was especially helpful since the bullpen gave quite a bit of an 11-run lead back. Nola has given up four or more runs in four of his last six outings, and he's surrendered 21 runs in 31 innings in that span. For the season, he has a 4.53 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 126:23 K:BB through 101.1 innings. He lines up for one more start before the All-Star break, which will likely come during this weekend's series in Boston.

Castillo allowed a run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings, but he took a no-decision versus Kansas City on Tuesday.

The only blemish on Castillo's line was a Michael Taylor solo home run, but Cincinnati's bullpen blew a five-run lead in the final two innings. Since the start of June, Castillo has posted quality starts in six of his last seven outings. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 4.81 with a 1.40 WHIP and 90:39 K:BB through 97.1 innings overall. His last start of the first half is expected to come this weekend in Milwaukee.

Gonsolin took a no-decision during Tuesday's loss despite holding the Marlins scoreless across 5.1 innings. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out three.

Gonsolin turned in his longest and best start of the season, stretching out to 72 pitches, including 45 for strikes. It was the third time in his career that the right-hander has gone at least five innings and not allowed a run. Gonsolin has spent time both in the rotation and out of the bullpen this season while slowly building up his endurance since returning from the injured list in late June. Across 21.1 innings, the 27-year-old has put together a 2.11 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. He lines up to take the mound again Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Lopez did not factor into the decision during Tuesday's win over the Dodgers. He allowed one run on four hits and a walk while striking out eight across four innings.

While Lopez found the strike zone well, it took him 91 pitches to get through four innings, hence the early exit. The right-hander has now hit a batter in each of his last five starts, including a bizarre loss last time out during which he was ejected after hitting Ronald Acuna with his first pitch of the game. Across 19 appearances this season, Lopez has compiled a 2.94 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. The 25-year-old is projected to make his next start at home Sunday against Atlanta.

Anderson gave up a run on five hits and three walks during Tuesday's 2-1 loss at Pittsburgh. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.

The 23-year-old issued more than two walks for the first time in his past five starts and delivered only 56 of his 91 pitches for strikes. It was another strong outing for Anderson, who has a 2.62 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB across 34.1 frames in his last six outings. He tentatively lines up to close out the first half of the season Sunday at Miami.

Gallen (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander was placed on the injured list July 3 with a strained right hamstring, but his quick return to mound work is a good sign for his recovery. A return immediately after the All-Star break could be on the table if Gallen has a strong throwing session Wednesday.

Burnes (knee) will start Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander came out of his last start Thursday with knee soreness, but he's good to go for his next turn through the rotation. Burnes and Jacob deGrom will be matched up in a showdown of All-Star pitchers in the seven-inning matinee.

DeGrom won't start as scheduled Tuesday against the Brewers since the game was postponed due to rain, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

New York attempted to wait out the rain and get the game in Tuesday, but the contest was called off more than two hours after the scheduled start time. The game will be made up via a doubleheader Wednesday, and deGrom will start Game 1 of the twin bill, per DiComo. As a result of the postponement, it should be his final start before the All-Star break.

Martinez (thumb) is scheduled to throw a side session Tuesday or Wednesday to determine whether he'll be able to pitch Friday against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The right-hander isn't believed to be dealing with a serious injury after exiting Sunday's start with a bruised right thumb, though his availability for the next turn through the rotation is up in the air. Wade LeBlanc should take the mound Friday if Martinez is unable to pitch.
