Webb (shoulder) has rejoined the Giants but has yet to be activated from the 10-day injured list, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The right-hander was scheduled for a rehab game at Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, but there was apparently a change of plans. Webb was expected to throw about 45 pitches in the rehab outing, and he could be in the mix to pitch Friday against the Nationals as part of a bullpen game.

Contreras (forearm) was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list Tuesday, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Contreras recently stepped away from Double-A Altoona to be evaluated for forearm tightness, and he'll miss at least a week as a result of the injury. The right-hander has posted a 2.35 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in 46 innings across nine starts with the Double-A club this year, but it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to action.

Williams will be a reliever for the Cubs at least until the All-Star break, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

If Jake Arrieta's struggles persist, it's possible he yields his spot in the rotation to Williams sometime after the break. Williams hasn't excelled either this season, pitching to a 5.36 ERA and tallying just two quality starts in 10 outings. The Cubs' rotation plans should become more clear next week as the second half begins.

The Cubs activated Williams (abdomen) from the 10-day IL on Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The righty returns to the Cubs after lasting five scoreless innings Friday in his second rehab outing with Triple-A Iowa. Williams' 5.36 ERA this season is not pretty, and Alec Mills has been decent of late as the fifth starter, so it's possible the former shifts to the bullpen.

Carrasco's (hamstring) velocity hit the mid-90s during his live batting practice session Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Carrasco participated in fielding drills Monday, and he was able to face hitters a day later. The righty could require several live BP sessions before he begins a rehab assignment, but manager Luis Rojas said Tuesday that Carrasco remains on track to make his Mets debut sometime in late July.

Lugo (2-1) picked up the win in Monday's 4-2 victory over the Brewers after striking out two in a perfect seventh inning.

The right-hander fired nine of his 11 pitches for strikes while carving up Milwaukee's 5-6-7 hitters, and Lugo was rewarded for his efforts when New York took the lead in the bottom of the frame. He's been his usual stalwart self since recovering from offseason elbow surgery, as Lugo has five holds and a save in 15 appearances with a 2.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 21:6 K:BB through 15 innings.

Megill didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 4-2 win over the Brewers after allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

The only blemish on the rookie right-hander's line was a solo blast by Omar Narvaez in the fourth inning. Megill, an eighth-round pick in 2018, has looked very good through his first three big-league starts, delivering a 3.77 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB through 14.1 innings. The 25-year-old has mixed a devastating slider (41.7 percent whiff rate so far) and a work-in-progress changeup in with a 95 mph fastball. While he might find himself in the bullpen in the second half if Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) ever gets healthy, Megill is proving he belongs in the majors.

Woodruff (7-4) took the loss Monday as the Brewers were downed 4-2 by the Mets, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

The score was tied 1-1 heading into the seventh inning, but Woodruff hit a wall -- four of the first five Mets who came to the plate in the frame reached base, chasing the right-hander from the game. Woodruff has given up more than three runs in a start only twice this season, but both have come in his last four outings. He still sports a stellar 2.10 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 125:25 K:BB through 107.1 innings, and the 28-year-old lines up for one more turn through the rotation before the All-Star break, at home against the Reds this weekend.

Musgrove allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings Monday against the Nationals. He did not factor into the decision.

Musgrove gave up all five runs over the first two innings and was able to settle in thereafter. He allowed a solo home run to Trea Turner in the first and then four runs on four hits and a walk during the second, when the Nationals batted around against him. Monday's outing makes it back-to-back starts in which Musgrove has allowed five runs, yet he hasn't lost either of them because of great run support. Outside of his recent struggles, the 28-year-old still has a 2.97 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 110:23 K:BB over 94 innings and will look to head into the All-Star break on a positive note when he faces the Rockies over the weekend.

Fried (5-5) took the loss in Monday's 11-1 rout at the hands of the Pirates, coughing up six runs on seven hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out five.

The southpaw was keeping things close until he hit the wall in the sixth inning and served up four straight hits before getting the hook, with all four runners eventually coming around to score. Fried had a 2.63 ERA and 0.92 WHIP over his prior four starts coming into Monday, but he's still prone to occasional blowups -- in 13 trips to the mound this year, he's been tagged for five or more runs four times. Fried lines up to get one more start before the All-Star break this weekend in Miami.
