Wheeler allowed four hits and no walks while striking out 12 across eight scoreless innings Thursday against Atlanta. He did not factor into the decision.

Wheeler dominated Atlanta as he allowed only two hitters into scoring position throughout his start. He also continued to pile up strikeouts, and he generated 20 swinging strikes on 105 total pitches. Wheeler has also consistently worked deep into games, as he's completed at least seven innings in five consecutive starts and at least six innings in nine consecutive outings. For the season, Wheeler has an excellent 2.29 ERA with 112:18 K:BB across 90.1 frames.

Rogers (7-3) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in seven innings to earn the win Thursday versus Colorado.

Rogers was dominant for six innings before running out of steam a bit in the seventh. This was his fifth quality start in his last six outings, and he still hasn't given up more than three runs in any start this season. The 23-year-old sports an excellent 2.02 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 89:25 K:BB across 75.2 innings this year. He lines up to face the struggling Cardinals next week.

Gausman had his start against the Nationals pushed from Friday to Saturday following the postponement of Thursday's game, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The game will be made up via a doubleheader Saturday, and Gausman will start one of those contests. Thursday's original starter, Anthony DeSclafani, will take the mound Friday for the Giants.

Keller (3-7) was charged with the loss Thursday against the Dodgers after surrendering four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three across 2.2 innings.

Command issues seemed to plague Keller this time around. After giving up a leadoff homer to Mookie Betts in the first, Keller ran in a troublesome three-run third inning which he was unable to finish. The right-hander, who had previously only hit three batters in his career, struck two alone in the third frame. The mess piled on as opposing starter Julio Urias hit a bases-loaded, two-run single after Keller went 3-0 on Austin Barnes and intentionally walked him. That would be it for Keller, who fell victim to his second abbreviated outing in a row. The 25-year-old had left his last start Friday due to a heat-related illness before landing on the COVID-19 injured list Sunday. Keller will look to bounce back during his next projected start Tuesday at Washington.

Urias (9-2) picked up the win Thursday after holding the Pirates to three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out five over six innings.

Most of his damage came via a two-run long ball to Bryan Reynolds in the third inning. It was otherwise a strong outing with solid command for Urias, who did not issue any free passes for the sixth time this year. It's worth noting that the 24-year-old helped his own cause for the win by knocking in a bases-loaded, two-run single against Mitch Keller in the third inning. Since the beginning of May, Urias has fanned 54 batters and walked five over eight appearances. The southpaw lines up to make his next start at home Tuesday against the Phillies.

DeScalafani won't start as scheduled Thursday against the Nationals since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Thursday's contest will be made up via a doubleheader Saturday. DeSclafani will start Friday, while Kevin Gausman will be pushed back to start one of the games in Saturday's twin bill, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Peralta did not factor into the decision during Thursday's win over the Reds despite allowing one run on two hits and a pair of walks while striking out six across four innings.

A 37-minute rain delay put the hammer in Peralta's successful outing. The right-hander left the game with the score tied, 1-1, with his only damage of the day coming from a solo homer by Joey Votto in the second inning. Unfortunately, Peralta snapped his streak of seven-plus punchouts to begin a season at 11 starts. Regardless, over his last six outings, Peralta has collected 45 strikeouts while allowing just five runs over 36 innings. The 25-year-old lines up for a rematch with the Reds at home early next week.

Castillo (2-9) was charged with the loss against the Brewers on Thursday after allowing three runs on one hit and three walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings.

It wasn't the cleanest first inning for Castillo, who opened the game by hitting a batter while also issuing a walk and giving up an RBI single to Avisail Garcia. The right-hander responded well, however, retiring 11 straight and pitching a 0-2 count on seven of his 15 hitters faced before heading into a 37-minute rain delay after the fourth. Upon returning, Castillo retired four more batters before running into trouble. After the 28-year-old issued two walks and worked for a 10-pitch strikeout, he was pulled in favor of Lucas Sims, who allowed both inherited runners to score. On the season, Castillo has compiled a 6.47 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. He lines up to get another chance with the Brewers on the road next week.

Ashby moved to the bullpen at Triple-A Nashville to work as a multi-inning reliever in preparation for an eventual call-up, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The manager of the Nashville Sounds, Rick Sweet, also managed Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes and Josh Hader as they made the move to relief in the minors before getting called up. Ashby logged a 1.02 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 26 strikeouts in 17.2 innings over his final three starts at Triple-A but surrendered two earned runs on one hit and two walks while striking out three in two innings during his first appearance as a multi-inning reliever Wednesday. The Brewers will likely stretch Ashby back out in 2022, when he could compete for a spot in the big-league rotation.

Rockies manager Bud Black said Gray (elbow) will play catch from 90-to-100 feet Thursday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Gray is initiating his throwing program just under a week after he was pulled from his start against the Athletics with a right flexor strain. The injury appears to be mild, and the right-hander looks on track to return from the injured list shortly after he's first eligible to return July 15. Black said the Rockies plan to have Gray ramp up the intensity of his throwing program over the weekend, when the right-hander will presumably advance to pitching off a mound and facing hitters in live batting practice.
