  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Not expected to pitch in Game 4

Strasburg threw a bullpen session Monday and isn't expected to be an option out of the bullpen for Game 4 of the NLDS against the Dodgers, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Strasburg appears to be on track to start Game 5 on Wednesday, though the Nationals will need to emerge with a victory Monday evening to force Game 5. The right-hander has been dominant in the postseason, surrendering just one run while fanning 14 over nine innings of work.

  • Jack Flaherty SP | DET

Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Named Game 5 starter

Flaherty will start Game 5 of the National League Division Series against the Braves on Wednesday should it be necessary, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Flaherty will start Game 5 for the Cardinals if they can beat the Braves at home in the fourth game of the series Monday. The 23-year-old went seven innings in Game 2, allowing three earned runs off eight hits and one walk while recording eight strikeouts as he was charged with a loss. Wednesday's starting assignment will likely make Flaherty unavailable out of the bullpen for Game 4.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Named Game 4 starter

Keuchel will start Game 4 of the NLDS against the Cardinals on Monday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Keuchel will be pitching on short rest, having thrown 74 pitches in Game 1 on Thursday. He may not be required to pitch too deep into Monday's contest, as the Braves can go to the bullpen early with an off day Tuesday and potentially a few more off days after that if they can finish off the Cardinals in Game 4.

  • Max Fried SP | NYY

Braves' Max Fried: Needed in bullpen

Fried is expected to pitch out of the bullpen for the remainder of the NLDS, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Fried was originally penciled in to start Game 4, with the caveat that he might be required in the bullpen before that. He struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief in Game 1 on Thursday and will continue in that role going forward. Julio Teheran is now likely to start Game 4, having been added to the roster to replace Chris Martin (oblique).

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Goes five innings in Game 1

Mikolas allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in a no-decision against the Braves in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday.

He kept a strong Braves lineup at bay for the most part, though Mikolas was actually in line for the loss before the Cardinals rallied in the eighth. Most importantly, Mikolas kept the ball in the yard, something he was able to do in just two of his final nine regular-season starts. Dakota Hudson is expected to start Game 4 and Jack Flaherty would be available on normal rest for Game 5 (if necessary), so expect Mikolas to shift to the bullpen for the rest of the series.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Takes no-decision in Game 1

Keuchel allowed one run on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against St. Louis in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday. He did not record a strikeout.

While far from dominant, Keuchel was effective against the Cardinals in his first non-Astros postseason appearance. He saw his effort go to waste when Luke Jackson and Mark Melancon combined to allow six runs in the later innings. Keuchel lines up to start in a decisive Game 5, should the series get to that point.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Walks five in loss

Corbin was charged with two runs (one earned) on three hits over six innings in a loss to the Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday. He struck out nine and walked five.

The left-hander was wild early, walking four of the first six batters he faced, including Max Muncy with the bases loaded. He eventually settled in, but Washington's bats couldn't get anything going against Walker Buehler and company on the other side, so Corbin was saddled with the loss. This may be the last we see of Corbin in 2019, unless the Nationals are able to force a Game 5.

  • Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Dominant against Nats

Buehler allowed one hit and three walks while striking out eight over six scoreless innings in a win over Washington in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday.

Manager Dave Roberts gave Buehler the nod in Game 1 over future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw, and Buehler rewarded his skipper's faith with a gem. Buehler made history, becoming the first NL pitcher to have back-to-back postseason starts of six innings or more with two or fewer hits allowed, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. The right-hander also became the first pitcher ever to strike out at least seven batters in each of his first five career postseason games. He's in line to start Game 5, if necessary.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Added to NLDS roster

Teheran was added to the Braves' NLDS roster to replace Chris Martin (oblique) Friday.

Teheran wasn't in the Braves' original playoff squad, but he was apparently the final cut, as he'll wind up joining the team after missing just one game. He recorded a solid 3.81 ERA in 33 starts this season but slumped to a 5.50 ERA over his final eight outings. Teheran could start Game 4 on Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Could pitch in NLDS after all

Teheran appears to be the likely replacement on Atlanta's NLDS roster after Chris Martin suffered an oblique injury during Game 1 against the Cardinals on Monday night, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

The Braves haven't made the move official just yet, but per Bowman, Teheran is expected to be added to the roster. Through 33 starts in the regular season, he posted a 3.81 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with a 162:83 K:BB across 174.2 innings of work.
