Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Fires six scoreless frames
Matz (11-10) earned the win Saturday versus the Braves after allowing two hits across six shutout innings. He struck out seven and walked five.
Matz dealt with baserunners for most of the evening but kept the Braves off the board by inducing 17 swinging strikes and giving up only one extra-base hit. The left-hander finishes 2019 with a 4.21 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 153:52 K:BB through 160.1 innings.

Logan Webb SP | SF
Giants' Logan Webb: Yields two runs in loss
Webb (2-3) allowed two runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts across six innings while taking a loss against the Dodgers on Saturday.
The loss was a disappointing result, but Webb yielded just three runs in his final 12 frames of the year. That's something to build upon for 2020, as Webb will look to pitch in his first full MLB season. He ends this year 2-3 with a 5.22 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 39.2 innings.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: K's seven in seven scoreless
Ryu (14-5) tossed seven shutout innings while allowing five hits and zero walks with seven strikeouts to earn a victory against the Giants on Saturday.
What a fitting way to end a campaign that could result in Ryu winning the NL Cy Young Award. Dropping his ERA nine points Saturday, Ryu at least clinched the NL ERA title, and over his last 44 starts dating back to the beginning of 2018, Ryu owns a 2.21 ERA. Additionally, he set or tied career bests in wins, WHIP and strikeouts during 2019. Ryu ends this season 14-5 with a 2.32 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 163 strikeouts in 182.2 innings.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Strikes out eight in no-decision
Corbin allowed six runs on seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts across 4.1 innings during a no-decision against the Indians on Saturday.
This was supposed to be just a short tune-up outing, but Corbin ended up throwing 94 pitches. He racked up eight punchouts for the fifth time in his last seven outings, but Corbin missed an opportunity at his 15th win, which he would have earned had he recorded two more outs. He finishes the regular season 14-7 with a 3.25 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 238 strikeouts in 202 innings.

Adrian Houser SP | SF
Brewers' Adrian Houser: Tabbed for Game 162
Houser will start Sunday's game at Colorado, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
The 26-year-old receives the starting nod for the final game of the regular season as the Brewers have one last chance to potentially catch the Cardinals in the NL Central. Houser has a 3.52 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 58:15 K:BB over 53.2 innings (11 starts) since rejoining the starting rotation at the end of July, but he'll have a tall task at Coors Field on Sunday. The right-hander completed five innings during only one of his five starts in September as manager Craig Counsell has taken full advantage of the expanded bullpen options. It would be Houser's final start of the season should Milwaukee be unable to advance to the NLDS.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Double-digit strikeouts again
Ray struck out 10 over six innings while allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks in a no-decision versus the Padres on Saturday.
Ray allowed a two-run homer to Manny Machado and a solo shot to Luis Urias in the contest. The southpaw matched his career high for innings pitched with 174.1, during which he's accumulated a personal-best 235 strikeouts with a 4.34 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Ray will also finish the year with a 12-8 record.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Slated to start Sunday
Flaherty will start Sunday's season finale against the Cubs, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.
Flaherty wasn't originally scheduled to start this weekend, but the Cardinals were unable to secure the NL Central crown and dropped the first two games of the series to the Cubs, so the team's ace will take the mound in an attempt to secure a spot in the NLDS. The 28-year-old has been completely dominant since the All-Star break with a 0.97 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 118:22 K:BB across 92.1 innings (14 starts)

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Serves up four homers
Wainwright (14-10) allowed six runs on 12 hits -- including four home runs -- over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday. He struck out three and did not issue a walk.
Wainwright had been on a great run, posting an ERA under 1.00 over the span of five starts, but the magic ran out over his final two regular-season outings (20 hits, 11 earned runs in 9.1 innings). It was a homer parade Saturday, with Ian Happ going yard twice off Wainwright and Kyle Schwarber and Victor Caratini playing long ball as well. The 38-year-old ends the regular season with a 4.19 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 171.2 innings.

Cole Hamels SP | SD
Cubs' Cole Hamels: Closes 2019 on high note
Hamels (shoulder) allowed two hits while striking out eight over four scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Saturday. He did not issue a walk.
The lefty was scratched last week due to shoulder fatigue, but he was cleared to pitch one final time and made the most of the opportunity. While Hamels was expected to go only three innings, he was so effective that he convinced manager Joe Maddon to leave him out there for an additional frame. Hamels' season was derailed by an oblique injury in July; he had struggled to a 6.39 ERA over nine starts coming into Saturday, after posting a 2.98 ERA over the first three months. He heads into free agency this winter for the first time in his career.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Strong in final outing
Eflin (10-13) earned the win Saturday against the Marlins after allowing three runs on six hits over 7.2 innings. He struck out six and walked two.
Eflin worked through 7.2 frames with only one run allowed, but a single and a home run during the eighth inning ended his outing. The 25-year-old had an up-and-down season with a 4.13 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 129:48 K:BB through 163.1 innings, but he'll finish with a quality performance.
