The Rockies claimed Castano off waivers Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Castano was designated for assignment by the Mariners last week but will maintain a spot on a 40-man roster with the Rockies. The right-hander opened this season at the Triple-A level and has given up one earned run with a 4:1 K:BB across 6.1 innings.

Waldron is slated to start Thursday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Shelved to begin the season while completing his recovery from hemorrhoid surgery, Waldron returned from the injured list last week following a dominant minor-league rehab stint during which he tossed 12 scoreless frames and posted a 12:1 K:BB over three starts for Triple-A El Paso. The right-hander stepped into the San Diego rotation but was unable to carry over his success from the minors, taking a loss Friday against the Angels while yielding six earned runs on eight hits and one walk over 3.2 innings. Though Waldron will be handed another start, he'll be difficult to rely upon for fantasy purposes while pitching in hitter-friendly Colorado.

Lowder (3-1) picked up the win Monday against the Rays after giving up one run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six innings.

The right-hander delivered a second straight quality start and third overall of the campaign, while limiting Tampa Bay to a single first-inning run during Monday's comfortable victory. Lowder has already set a career high with three wins and has enjoyed a productive start to the campaign with a 3.10 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB across 29 innings.

Meyer didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 5-3 win over the Cardinals, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out eight.

The eight K's were a season high, and Meyer saw a season-high workload with 5.1 innings and 91 pitches (59 strikes). The right-hander is beginning to find a groove, posting a 3.52 ERA and 17:6 K:BB over his last three starts and 15.1 innings, but he has yet to put together a truly dominant outing despite the fact that his slider is producing an eye-popping 50.8 percent whiff rate in the early going. Meyer will look to carry his momentum into his next start, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in San Francisco.

Atlanta recalled Dodd from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Dodd picked up a three-inning save in his lone appearance out off the Atlanta bullpen earlier this month. He'll provide the team's relief corps with some length.

Lodolo (finger) is scheduled to throw a three-inning simulated game Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Lodolo, who threw a two-inning sim game last Friday, will increase his activity Tuesday. The left-hander has been dealing with a blister on his left index finger since late in spring training.

Quintana (0-2) took the loss against the Dodgers on Monday, pitching five innings and allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits and one walk while striking out one batter.

Quintana served up back-to-back solo homers in the second inning and remained behind for the rest of his outing. The veteran lefty was hurt by his defense, as a third-inning error resulted in a pair of Los Angeles runs, but he also balked in a run in the fourth frame and had trouble putting hitters away, notching just five whiffs. Quintana has more walks (nine) than punchouts (four) on the campaign, so his 6.23 ERA and 1.85 WHIP are in line with how he's been pitching. He's projected to make his next start in New York against the Mets.

Nola (1-2) took the loss Monday, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks over 4.1 innings against the Cubs. He struck out five.

Nola was undone by a four-run second inning, as a sinker left over the middle was turned into a three-run homer by Dansby Swanson. It's been a lackluster start for the veteran hurler, who has allowed three-plus runs in four of five starts and owns a 5.06 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 26.2 innings. Nola will look to get back on track in his next outing, which is projected to come over the weekend against Atlanta.

Rea (3-0) earned the win Monday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over 6.2 innings against Philadelphia. He struck out five.

Rea continued his strong stretch, quieting the Philadelphia bats and pitching into the seventh inning for the first time this season en route to his third consecutive win. Having been used as both a starter and multi-inning reliever through five outings, the veteran right-hander has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 20:5 K:BB across 24 innings. Even with Matthew Boyd (biceps) slated to return from the injured list this week, Rea's performance should keep him in the rotation moving forward.

Irvin (1-3) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and no walks over five innings against Atlanta. He struck out four.

Irvin allowed just three hits, though one was a costly two-run homer as he took his third loss of the season. It's been a lackluster start for the right-hander, who owns a 6.00 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 24 innings (five starts). Monday marked the 29-year-old's first outing without issuing a walk, though he did hit Ronald Acuna twice. Irvin's next start is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the White Sox.
